Indications for screening CT angiography of the head and neck in patients with suspicion of blunt traumatic vascular injury are summarized. Emphasis is given to the CT findings that warrant an emergency intervention to prevent traumatic visual impairment.Ileal pouch anal anastomosis (IPAA) is gold standard surgical procedure for treatment of ulcerative colitis and majority of patients with familial adenomatous polyposis. This procedure allows preservation of fecal continence and gastrointestinal continuity. However, it is associated with a wide variety of complications, which often have nonspecific and overlapping clinical presentations, making imaging an important part of work up for pouch dysfunction. The purpose of this article is to propose structured reporting templates for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Water Soluble Contrast Enema (WSCE) in IPAA patients based on our referral pouch center's experience. Included will be a review of salient surgical technique, pouch anatomy and imaging protocols, with an emphasis on systematic search pattern for evaluation of ileal pouch complications using proposed structured reporting MRI and WSCE templates.Although 31 years have passed since the discovery of endothelin, that pioneering report, and the subsequent flood of influential studies elucidating its molecular and clinical details, have since paved the way for thousands of publications. They showed the promise of endothelin and the vast amount of work that remains to be done to fully unleash the potential this peptide possesses, both as a key physiological regulator and as a therapeutic target. Endothelin conferences and their proceedings have served as a host for many of these breakthrough studies, and in keeping with this fine tradition, Endothelin XVI will host novel research articles presented at the Sixteenth International Conference on Endothelin (ET-16) as its proceedings. On September 22-25, 2019, ET-16 was held at Kobe Port Oasis, Kobe, Japan, where numerous important discoveries were presented to the scientific community for the first time, many of which are compiled and published in this special issue. As the Editors of this special issue that comprises in-depth reviews, insightful editorials, and numerous original research articles discussing findings from various biomedical fields, we are extremely proud to present Endothelin XVI. We sincerely hope for the continued growth of this field for the benefit of the patients and the advancement of biomedical science.Verbal fluency tasks are considered clinically valuable measures of cognitive impairment for they are short, easy to score and administer, and of low costs. Sociodemographic, cultural, and linguistic variables have been shown to affect verbal fluency performance. Information concerning the effects of sociodemographic variables on semantic verbal fluency (SVF) performance in Lebanon and other Arabic-speaking countries is lacking. This study examined the effects of age, educational level, and sex on SVF performance in healthy Lebanese-speaking adults. Data were obtained from 70 adult Lebanese speakers ages 19-79. Participants were presented with fourteen categories, each at a time, and were asked to generate as many exemplars as they could in 60 seconds. Results from regression analyses showed that age (p less then .001) and educational level (p = .002) variables had significant effects on overall SVF performance resulting in younger adults and adults with higher educational levels achieving higher SVF scores. Overall, sex did not emerge a predictor of SVF performance. Category-specific differences demonstrate variability. Consequently, the effects education and age present on SVF may be due to their critical roles in the semantic and non-semantic components of SVF, respectively.
To compare the efficacy and the tolerability of letrozole combined with oral contraceptives versus oral contraceptives alone in treating endometriosis-related pain.
A total of 820 women with endometriosis presented with endometriosis-related pain were enrolled with this study. Patients were randomly treated either with letrozole (2.5 mg/day) combined with oral contraceptives (
or oral contraceptives (
) alone for 6 months. Changes in pain symptoms during treatment and in 1 months after treatment, 6-month follow-up and 12-month follow-up were evaluated. TGF-beta inhibitor Adverse effects of each treatment protocol were recorded.
At completion of treatment, the intensity of chronic pelvic pain continued to decrease during treatment and at 1-month after treatment it was significantly lower than at 6-month follow-up and baseline level both in LE + oral contraceptives group (Mean ± SD,1.5 ± 1.4) and in oral contraceptives alone group(Mean ± SD,2.9 ± 1.2).The intensity of chronic pelvic pain and deep dyspareunia was significantly decrease at both 1-month after treatment and 6-month follow-up.
This treatment for endometriosis is a promising new modality that warrants further investigation.

Despite the development and improvement of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy in cancer management, effective tumor ablation strategies are still in need due to high cancer patient mortality. Hence, we have established a new approach to achieve treatment-actuated modifications in a tumor microenvironment by using synergistic activity between two potential anticancer drugs. Dual drug delivery of Regorafenib (REGO) and Cisplatin (PT) exhibits a great anticancer potential, as REGO enhances the effect of PT treatment of human cells by providing stability of the microenvironment. However, encapsulation of REGO and PT fanatical by methoxypoly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(D, L-lactic acid) (PEG-PLA in termed as NPs) is incompetent owing to unsuitability between the binary Free REGO and PT core and the polymeric system. Now, we display that PT can be prepared by hydrophobic coating of the dual drug centers with dioleoylphosphatidic acid (DOPA). The DOPA-covered PT can be co-encapsulated in PLGA NPs alongside REGO to stimulate excellent anticancer property.
