Slot Rankings - How Wide Receivers Score More Touchdowns in the Slot

Slots are the same for each spin. You won't find any hacks that will help you beat them. There are a few tips you can use to maximize your chances of winning.

Find out the RTP of a particular game first. This statistic will tell you how much players can expect to win over the course of time.

Slot Efficiency

Slot efficiency is the goal of maximising the amount of slot switches that can be used without violating a set of predefined constraints. These constraints usually comprise the minimum allowed operational delay (usually expressed in terms of scheduling delays), fairness and equity access and competition, environmental targets and many more. The process of allocation of slots is a complex one and optimizing it to meet the desired performance metrics requires careful analysis of the various factors that are in play.

In general, the process starts with the identification of the kinds of requests that need to be prioritized based on precedents. Once the type of request has been identified, a slot allocation model is utilized to reduce the delay criterion. However, there are many research gaps have been identified related to the optimization of slot scheduling models particularly when it comes to balancing efficiency and fairness.

A popular method of prioritizing slot assignments is the ABC (assigned by velocity) strategy that gathers information on the history of an item and creates a velocity group. Items with the highest velocity receive the best slots, whereas smaller velocity items are placed further back in the warehouse.

The distance factor is a crucial element in the slot's efficiency. It is a measure of the amount of space needed to facilitate the pick-to-ship process. The factor considers the velocity group, the placement of racking, and equipment handling characteristics of the items.

It is important to also consider the cost of a change in the slot to improve the efficiency of your slot. Managers can determine the costs of a typical change to a slot and the impact it has on other aspects of slot efficiency, such as velocity by analyzing a typical slot.

After a few months of reviewing the data, and re-evaluating the recommendations, the casino began using the solution more frequently. The gaming operations team estimates that they will save between 10-12 hours per month with their traditional analysis. This is not including the time spent reviewing data from customers or developing a new, actionable strategy.

The team was able with the help of the new recommendations offered by SRE to make dozens game changes that increased revenue for players. In particular, Dancing Drums Explosion and Twinstar Wave XL both by Scientific Games, saw big gains in the premium lease and WAP rankings. The casino also managed to shift their budget away from marketing and other expenses to enhancing floor performance.

Perimeter Efficiency

Wide receivers score more touchdowns when they are capable of hitting the perimeter targets instead of slot targets. This is because they are generally targeted downfield, and often have one-on-one coverage. However, what may surprise some is that there's a difference between the top five slot receivers and the rest in scoring on targets that are located in the perimeter.

Of the 66 wide receivers who have seen at least 40 targets the past two seasons The top five slot scorers on the perimeter routes were all speed receivers: Mike Evans, Amari Cooper, Tyler Lockett and Michael Gallup. The bottom of the list was filled with more possession-based receivers including Chris Godwin and Diontae Johnson. The two latter two are likely to see an increase in their targets this season if the Bucs can move them into the slot more often however they'll need to increase their perimeter scoring to keep that high level.

Speedy wideouts are the biggest benefit of moving into the slot, since they have an easier time getting open downfield when their route isn't covered by a cornerback or linebacker. The only non-speedy wide receiver on the list that benefits from more slot time is Corey Coleman, as he's an extremely reliable player on intermediate and short routes.

The bottom of the list includes more possession-based receivers that are more effective on intermediate and short routes than those in deep areas such as Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler. Jeudy is a solid choice for a sleeper this year, as the Rams' primary slot receiver for the Rams while Courtland Sutton and Amari Cooper are expected to play on more downfield targets. Hamler is expected to thrive on more short-to-middle and intermediate routes, as that's where he excelled while playing for the Bills in 2021. Hamler could be a fantastic replacement for the departing wideout Jordan Matthews.

Percentage of Snaps in the Slot

The amount of snaps a receiver takes in the slot can be a good indicator for their ability to run deep routes. It is not always a true reflection of a receiver's abilities, as certain receivers excel in the slot, but they can't play further.

Alshon Jeffrey, for instance leads the league in targets received per game (4.8) however, he is only ranked 6th in the position that scores (58.5). This is due to the fact that most of his targets have been thrown from the outside and it's hard to get a first down on a wide-open deep route in that situation.

On contrary, some receivers excel inside, but struggle on the outer. Robby Anderson, for instance, was given 978 snaps by the Panthers this season. He logged 74% of his route in the slot, compared to only 26% on boundaries routes. This is an enormous difference that shows how much more efficient Robby Anderson is when he's aligned with the slot.

Moreover there is the Buccaneers' Chris Godwin lines in the middle on the majority of his passing downs, and has a top five slot receiving score (58.5). He also played 51% his perimeter routes and is a master in one-on-1 coverage.

Speed receivers are typically more effective when lined up inside, because they are able to get targeted down the field, and often find themselves with one-on-one coverage. This is why you'll see names like Julio Jones, Mike Evans, and Amari Cooper in the top five on our list.

On the flip side there are some excellent slot cornerbacks like McDuffie and Moore in this group. McDuffie is the leader in the NFL in forced fumbles having seven, while Moore has the best tackle-stopping efficiency (-3.5) on this list. Through using McDuffie in the slot when they're running nickel or dime-type packages, and then deploying McDuffie on the outside in base defense, Spagnuolo has maximized his abilities. In certified slots Rainbet , Moore's ability to stop big run plays has been an enormous benefit when playing in the slot.

Percentage of Snaps Outside

While top NFL receivers like Golden Tate, Larry Fitzgerald, and Baldwin excel on the perimeter but their slot counterparts are just as effective. As a group wide receivers with a high slot receiving grade score touchdowns at roughly the same rate as players who are on the perimeter. This is mainly because quarterbacks are more consistent with their target distribution when they throw to outside and slot wide receivers than other inside options like tight ends and backfield passers.

It's therefore interesting to see a receiver such as CeeDee lamb on this list for 2022. He plays the slot in three WR sets, and flanker in 2 of the sets. In fact Lamb is running a greater number of slot routes than most of the players listed on this list. This is an excellent way to generate matchup benefits for your team and helps to explain why Lamb ranks as the highest-graded slot receiver in our system this season.

Of course, he also plays the X position and makes huge plays on the perimeter as well. Lamb isn't as powerful as the players in this list however, he's highly skilled and is a perfect player for the Cowboys scheme.

Mecole Hardman, a different player who puts up big numbers with targets of both kinds is a different example. He's among the best players in the league at throwing throws from behind his shoulders. He's also a fantastic contested-catch player.

Another player on this list who's a slot specialist in the true sense is Baltimore's Jalen Hilton who has played in the slot on 85.7 percent of his defensive snaps this season. He's allowed the third-lowest target EPA and the fifth-best run stop EPA among cornerbacks who are aligned in the slot, making him a crucial player in the defense of his team. He's struggled to stop passes from outside, and his EPA against this kind of target is negative. This is a result of playing with subpar linebackers and safeties that can't match up with Hilton's size, speed and route-running ability.
