Moreover, increasing demand and scale of the problem makes to increase the cost function. The hydrological conditions of river-connected lakes are complex primarily owing to their considerable water-level fluctuations (WLFs). Water quality in such lakes varies with hydrodynamic variations; however, their relationship is not clear. To identify the unique relationship between water level and water quality in river-connected lakes, we used the comprehensive pollution index (CPI) and regression analysis to analyze the spatiotemporal variation in water quality in Dongting Lake from 2015 to 2018 and the effects of water level on water quality. Four water quality parameters were selected total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), permanganate index (CODMn), and chlorophyll a (Chl-a). The results showed significant spatial variation in the lake water quality, with relatively high concentrations of TN, TP, CODMn, and Chl-a in East Dongting Lake. TN and TP decreased by 12.15% and 37.61%, respectively, from 2015 to 2018, whereas CODMn increased from 1.781 to 2.009 mg/L. NLRP3 inhibitor Seasonally, TN and TP concentrations were low in the summer and autumn, with high concentrations in the winter and spring. In contrast, CODMn and Chl-a concentrations exhibited opposite trends. The pollution level in Dongting Lake ranged between slightly and moderately polluted, with a CPI ranging from 0.76 to 1.32 across all sampling sites during 2015-2018. The water level in Dongting Lake initially increased and, then, decreased in a year, with marked WLFs owing to seasonal shifts in precipitation and human activities. The water level had significant negative relationships with TN and TP concentrations and a significant positive relationship with CODMn concentration (p less then 0.05). Based on the results, strict control of excessive external nutrient loading should be actively implemented in Dongting Lake, in addition to hydrological regulation for effective lake water quality management.Although radiation level is a serious concern which requires continuous monitoring, many existing systems are designed to perform this task. Radiation early warning system (REWS) is one of these systems which monitor the gamma radiation level in air. Such system requires high manual intervention, depends totally on experts' analysis, and has some shortcomings that can be risky sometimes. In this paper, the approach called RIMI (refining incoming monitored incidents) will be introduced which aims to improve this system while becoming more autonomous with keeping the final decision to the experts. A new method is presented which will help in changing this system to become more intelligent while learning from past incidents of each specific system.Coronaviruses are terrifically precise and adapted towards specialized respiratory epithelial cells, observed in organ culture and human volunteers both. This virus is found to possess an unpredictable anti-viral T-cell response which in turn results in T-cell activation and finally apoptosis, leading to cytokine storm and collapse of the whole immune system. The present review provides comprehensive information regarding SARS-CoV-2 infection, mutant strains, and the impact of SARS-COV-2 on vital organs, the pathophysiology of the disease, diagnostic tests available, and possible treatments. It also includes all the vaccines developed so far throughout the world to control this pandemic. Until now, 18 vaccines have been approved by the WHO and further 22 vaccines are in the third trial. This study also provides up-to-date information regarding the drugs repurposed in clinical trials and the recent status of allopathic drugs along with its result. Although vaccines are available, specific treatment is not available for the disease. Furthermore, the effect of vaccines on new variants is a new area of research at this time. Therefore, a preventive attitude is the best approach to fight against this virus.Annually, the Cerrado ecosystem alternates between dry periods and long rainy seasons. During the dry season, severe forest fires occur, consuming a considerable part of the native vegetation, which impacts directly on the microbiome of the soil. Evaluate the adaptations of the soil microbiome to drought, rain and wildfire. Sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene was carried out for three significant conditions drought and forest fires ("Fire"), after the first recorded rains ("First_Rain"), and during the rainy season ("Rainy"). link2 It has been shown that under the "Fire" condition, there was a predominance of Phylum Actinobacteria, followed by Proteobacteria and Firmicutes. With the advent of the rainy season, "First_Rain," there was a change in the predominant taxonomic groups, with a higher prevalence of members of Proteobacteria and Firmicutes. During the rainy season, Proteobacteria and Firmicutes continued as the most prevalent groups. However, it was noted that in this period, there was an increase in bacterial diversity when compared with other periods analyzed. These results show how environmental factors influence adaptations in microbial communities. This allows for a better understanding of how to link the structure of the microbial community to the performance of ecosystems, and assist in preventing the consequences of increased frequency of wildfires, and long periods of drought. The objective of the current study is to investigate the performance of the inclined solar panel basin still (ISPBS) incorporated with a spiral tube collector (STC) for various mass flow rates of water (mf). The maximum potable water yield of 8.1, 6.9, and 6.1 kg is obtained for different mass flow rates of 1.8, 3.2, and 4.7 kg/h in each instance. Also, for mf of 1.8, 3.2, and 4.7 kg per hour, the daily average energy and exergy efficiency of the ISPBS is recorded to be 47.9, 39.3, and 31.02 % and 9.8, 7.9, and 5.6 %, in each instance. The average electrical, thermal, and exergy efficiency of the PV panel is noted to be 6.5, 7.1, and 7.5 %; 15.67, 17.1, and 18.04 %; and 20.03, 22.21, and 23.36 % for mf of 1.8, 3.2, and 4.7 kg/h in each instance. The rise in mf causes a drop in the fresh water production yield; thermal, exergy, and overall thermal effectiveness; and an enhancement in the power production of the panel, electrical, thermal, exergy, and overall exergy efficiency of the system. Also, the cost of yield production is noted to be low-cost in AISS at minimum mf of 1.8 kg per hour (0.019 $/l) when compared to the other two mf of 3.2 and 4.7 kg per hour (0.022 and 0.025 $/l).Arterial and aortic valve calcifications are the most prevalent pathophysiological conditions among all the reported cases of cardiovascular calcifications. It increases with several risk factors like age, hypertension, external stimuli, mechanical forces, lipid deposition, malfunction of genes and signaling pathways, enhancement of naturally occurring calcium inhibitors, and many others. Modern-day lifestyle is affected by numerous environmental factors and harmful toxins that impair our health rather than providing benefits. Applying the combinatorial approach or targeting the exact mechanism could be a new strategy for drug designing or attenuating the severity of calcification. Most of the non-communicable diseases are life-threatening; thus, altering the phenotype and not the genotype may reveal the gateway for fighting with upcoming hurdles. Overall, this review summarizes the reason behind the generation of arterial and aortic valve calcification and its related signaling pathways and also the detrimental effects of calcification. In addition, the individual process of epigenetics and how the implementation of this process becomes a novel approach for diminishing the harmful effect of calcification are discussed. Noteworthy, as epigenetics is linked with genetics and environmental factors necessitates further clinical trials for complete and in-depth understanding and application of this strategy in a more specific and prudent manner.Exposure to airborne urban particles is a contributing factor for the development of multiple types of respiratory diseases; its pathological role as a cause of lung injury is still unclear. link3 In this study, PM2.5 soluble extract was collected, and its toxicological effect on lung pathological changes was examined. To assess its pathological mechanism, Human Monocyte-Like Cell Line, THP-1, and mouse macrophage, RAW264.7, were used to determine the effects of PM2.5 soluble extract on cell toxicity, phagocytosis, and transcriptome. We found that PM2.5 soluble extract exposure activated NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathways, then induces the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. RNA-seq results showed that the transcription profiles, including 1213 genes, have been changed in responses to PM2.5 exposure. Additionally, PM2.5 led to phagocytic dysfunction, which may exacerbate the cause of lung injury. Exposure to PM2.5 soluble extract triggers the death of respiratory macrophages, impairs its phagocytosis capacity, thus delaying the inflammatory cell clearance in the lung, which results in chronic lung injury.Noise exposure is a primary cause of hearing loss with a broad range of auditory and non-auditory effects. It is one of the occupational health risks in both developed and industrialized countries. Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are induced after severe noise exposure. Those proteins protect the ear from damage following excessive noise exposure. This protection showed high variability between individuals. The aim of the study was to investigate the variation in hearing loss and blood pressure in textile workers and its association with genetic predisposition related to HSP70 genes. Also, the role of smoking was studied. We genotyped HSP-70 (hsp70-1, hsp70-2, and hsp70-hom) genes in 109 textile workers working in a noisy environment. Diastolic and systolic blood pressure was measured for workers. Hearing was assessed using an audiogram. We reported significant variation in HSP70-homo genotypes among smoker workers and nonsmoker ones. Only HSP70-2 genotypes were associated with high significant variations in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure among textile workers. Positive correlation between duration of exposure and both systolic (P  less then  0.047) and diastolic blood pressure (P  less then  0.033) was observed among workers. Our study recorded that HSP70-2 genotypes were associated with hypertension among textile workers with absence of that association with either HSP70-1 or HSP70-homo genotypes. We also confirmed the relationship between noise exposure and blood pressure (both systolic and diastolic blood pressure). Furthermore, significant variation was shown in HSP70-hom genotypes among smoker and nonsmoker workers.Laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) for Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a safe procedure. Repeat surgery is more often required, and the role of minimally invasive liver surgery (MILS) is not yet clearly defined. The present study analyzes data compiled by the Italian Group of Minimally Invasive Liver Surgery (IGoMILS) on LLR. To compare repeated LLR with the first LLR for HCC is the primary endpoint. The secondary endpoint was to evaluate the outcome of repeat LLR in the case of primary open versus primary MILS surgery. The data cohort is divided into two groups. Group 1 first liver resection and Group 2 Repeat LLR. To compare the two groups a 31 Propensity Score Matching is performed to analyze open versus MILS primary resection. Fifty-two centers were involved in the present study, and 1054 patients were enrolled. 80 patients underwent to a repeat LLR. The type of resection was different, with more major resections in the group 1 before matching the two groups. After propensity score matching 31, each group consisted of 222 and 74 patients.
