In Belgium, COVID-19 epidemy began on February 4, 2020 with a peak on April 10, 2020. Patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) followed in the Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc were rapidly isolated before the government lockdown.

After the peak of the epidemy, we measured anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgM and IgG antibodies in 149 patients and collected clinical data.

Only 3 asymptomatic patients presented IgG against the virus. In one patient hospitalized for COVID-19 (positive molecular testing), we did not detect any anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies, as in thirty-five other symptomatic patients considered as possible cases.

Even if respiratory symptoms linked to CF are frequent and compatible with COVID-19, anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies were detected only in 3 asymptomatic patients. This reassuring study concerning the risk of COVID-19 in patients with CF illustrates the difficulty to distinguish COVID-19 symptoms from respiratory exacerbations and the need of generalized molecular testing to make a precise diagnosis.

Criteria for delayed ejaculation (DE) rely on a long ejaculation latency (EL) time, lack of control/advancement regarding ejaculation, and associated bother/distress; yet, few studies have investigated these criteria in men who indicate the desire to ejaculate sooner during partnered sex.

To help standardize criteria for DE by better understanding characteristics of men who desire to ejaculate sooner during partnered sex in terms of their EL, reported ejaculatory control, and level of bother/distress, as well as their perceptions of typical and ideal ELs for men in general and of ELs for men with premature ejaculation (PE).

A total of 572 men recruited through social media responded to an online survey regarding their EL, as well as typical, ideal, and PE ELs of men in general. Sleep disturbance and depression are common in stroke patients, however, little is known about the role of sleep in post-stroke depression. This study examined the association between pre-stroke sleep duration and depression at 90 days post-stroke in a population-based bi-ethnic sample.

The study included 1369 stroke patients from the Brain Attack Surveillance in Corpus Christi project who survived 90 days post-stroke. Depression at 90 days post-stroke was assessed by the 8-item Patient Health Questionnaire, and pre-stroke sleep duration was self-reported shortly after stroke in reference to the pre-stroke state. Multiple imputation and inverse probability weighting were used to deal with missing data and attrition. Weighted logistic regression models were fit to examine the association between pre-stroke sleep duration and post-stroke depression.

The mean age was 68.2 years, and 63.6% were Mexican American. The prevalence of post-stroke depression was highest among participants reporting less than 6hours of sleep before stroke (52.4%, 95% confidence interval=45.7%-59.0%). Compared with participants reporting 7-8hours of sleep before stroke, those with short sleep duration had significantly increased odds for post-stroke depression (odds ratio=1.96; 95% confidence interval=1.38-2.79), after adjustment for sociodemographic, stroke and pre-stroke characteristics including pre-stroke depression.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) are associated with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). However, this association is unclear. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of MCI in patients with overlap syndrome, determine whether OSA increases the risk of MCI in patients with COPD, and investigate the potential mechanisms for this association.

Participants with stable Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) stage 2-4 COPD and complaints of snoring in 2016-2018 were enrolled in this cross-sectional observational study. All were free of asthma, acute left-sided congestive heart failure, unstable coronary heart disease, uncontrolled hypertension, diabetes, encephalitis, and epilepsy. They underwent pulmonary function tests and overnight polysomnography and completed the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). MCI was defined by an MoCA score of <23, while OSA was defined by an apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) of ≥15 per hour. The association between MCI, demographics, and comorbidities was tested by logistic regression analysis with adjustment for confounders. Sleep-disordered breathing measures were investigated as potential mechanisms underlying this relationship.

Few data are available about the risk of COVID-19 infection in persons with hematological cancer, but controversy whether these persons have the same clinical signs and outcomes. We describe a case of life-threatening COVID-19 infection complicated by severe anemia in patients affected also by chronic myelogenous leukemia. The screening for RBC antibodies and the direct antiglobulin test (DAT) turned positive. The identification of the antibodies, showed the presence of an alloantibody with anti-Lewis b specificity, which was reactive at room temperature, in the anti-human globulin phase (AGH) and with papain-treated red blood cells. At the same time hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), on the basis of major laboratory findings including hyperferritnemia, increase of triglicerides levels and according to the HLH score was suspected. Patients received antiviral therapy, steroids and intravenous immunoglobulins. The aims of this study were to describe outcomes in patients with Crohn's disease who fail anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and either vedolizumab or ustekinumab.

Multicenter, retrospective study of 100 patients with Crohn's disease who failed anti-TNF and either vedolizumab or ustekinumab from 2015 to 2019. Using multivariable Cox regression, we sought to identify factors associated with need for surgery.

75 patients received a third line treatment, resulting in 23 (30.7%) clinical remission at week 48. Among the 71 patients included after vedolizumab failure, 46 received ustekinumab, resulting in 46 (28.3%) clinical remission; 13 patients were retreated with an anti-TNF, resulting in 13 (46.2%) clinical remission. Among the 29 patients included after ustekinumab failure, 12 were retreated with an anti-TNF, resulting in 2 (16.7%) clinical remission. The rate of surgery-free survival at 48 weeks was 76.5% (95% confidence interval 68.4% - 85.4%). In multivariable analysis, ileal disease localization (hazard ratio 9.0, 95% confidence interval 1.0-81.9) was associated with a higher risk of surgery.
