Homoepitaxial growth of SrTiO3 thin films on 0.5 wt% niobium doped SrTiO3 (100) substrates with high structural perfection was developed using liquid-delivery spin metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE). Exploiting the advantage of adjusting the partial pressures of the individual constituents independently, we tuned the Sr/Ti ratio of the gas phase for realizing, stoichiometric, as well as Sr deficient layers. Quantitative energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy in a scanning transmission electron microscope confirm Sr deficiency of up to 20% in nominally off-stoichiometrically grown films. IVCs conducted at 10 K indicate a defect-based mechanism instead of mass transport by ion diffusion. This is supported by in-situ STEM investigations that show filaments to form at significant higher voltages than those were resistive switching is observed in our samples.Major depressive disorder (MDD) is associated with premature mortality and is an independent risk factor for a broad range of diseases, especially those associated with aging, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease. However, the pathophysiology underlying increased rates of somatic disease in MDD remains unknown. It has been proposed that MDD represents a state of accelerated cellular aging, and several measures of cellular aging have been developed in recent years. Among such metrics, estimators of biological age based on predictable age-related patterns of DNA methylation (DNAm), so-called 'epigenetic clocks', have shown particular promise for their ability to capture accelerated aging in psychiatric disease. The recently developed DNAm metric known as 'GrimAge' is unique in that it was trained on time-to-death data and has outperformed its predecessors in predicting both morbidity and mortality. Yet, GrimAge has not been investigated in MDD. Here we measured GrimAge in 49 somatically healthy unmedicated individuals with MDD and 60 age-matched healthy controls. We found that individuals with MDD exhibited significantly greater GrimAge relative to their chronological age ('AgeAccelGrim') compared to healthy controls (p = 0.001), with a median of 2 years of excess cellular aging. This difference remained significant after controlling for sex, current smoking status, and body-mass index (p = 0.015). These findings are consistent with prior suggestions of accelerated cellular aging in MDD, but are the first to demonstrate this with an epigenetic metric predictive of premature mortality.Newer, more effective and non-cytotoxic therapies are an unmet need for patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and other B-cell malignancies. Toxic oil syndrome is a multisystemic disease that arose in 1981 due to the ingestion of contaminated rapeseed oil. Previous studies have found a higher prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors in these patients. The aim of this study was to analyze the differences in the prevalence of chronic diseases among a population affected by Toxic oil syndrome compared with a reference population in the Community of Madrid.

Cross-sectional observational study of patients with a registry diagnosed with Toxic oil syndrome in the primary care medical record and a reference sample without Toxic oil syndrome matched by age group and sex. Sociodemographic variables, cardiovascular risk factors, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease, anxiety, depression, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and low back pain, and multimorbidity (≥2 chronic diseases) were assesed. Descriptive and multivariate analysis was performed to study the association between morbidity and Toxic oil syndrome.

3,527 patients (1,394 Toxic oil syndrome) were included with a mean age of 66 (SD14) years, 71% women. Patients with a diagnosis of SAT were more likely to present multimorbidity (OR 1.36; 95%CI 1.10-1.45), diabetes (OR 1.55; 95%CI 1.29-1.86), complicated hypertension (OR 1.77; IC95% 1.31-2.39), heart attack (OR 2.23; 95%CI 1.47-3.38), depression (OR 1.39; 95%CI 1.17-1.66) and asthma (OR 1.56; 95%CI 1.23-1.97). MATERIAL AND METHODS From 2013 to 2018, 102 whole-organ liver transplantations were conducted in our department. Patients were closely monitored for biliary complication development. In all suspected cases, patients underwent either endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography or percutaneous transhepatic cholangial drainage. Patients' demographic characteristics, preexisting conditions, and perioperative characteristics, as well as morbidity and mortality, were analyzed. Risk factors for 1-year survival were calculated. RESULTS Of the 102 patients, 43 (42%) experienced biliary complications. In comparison with patients without biliary complications, patients with biliary complications exhibited the following risk factors underlying liver disease (viral hepatitis; P=0.009), blood group A (P=0.005), and previous abdominal surgery (P=0.037).
