Our results will provide valuable information for assessment of the potential health risks of microplastics in China's seafood.Pydiflumetofen is a new succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor fungicide, and the method for determination of its residues in rice and associated environmental samples has not yet been reported. Here, we optimized, Quick Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, Safe (QuEChERS) method for sample preparation, and used high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS) to detect the residual amounts of pydiflumetofen in rice and its environment. The results showed that there was a good linearity over the pydiflumetofen concentration range of 0.01-0.1 mg/L in all matrices (R2 > 0.99). At the spiked levels of 0.01, 0.05, and 0.1 mg/kg, the recovery rates of pydiflumetofen from various matrices were between 84.23 and 105.10 %, with the relative standard deviation of 1.07-9.99 %. The limit of detection (signal-to-noise ratio = 3) of the proposed method for pydiflumetofen was in the range of 1.9-3.5 µg/kg, and the limit of quantification (signal-to-noise ratio = 10) was in the range of 6.3-11.7 µg/kg.The Atacama Desert represents the highest levels of mining exploitation in Chile, which inexorably results in high levels of pollution. Raptors, and particularly scavengers, have shown their usefulness to evaluate exposure to environmental contaminants in polluted scenarios. In this study, we used primary feathers from a local avian scavenger, turkey vulture Cathartes aura, to evaluate the exposure to cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) in two locations from the southern Atacama Desert (coastal and inland) and a third location from the bordering semiarid region, in northern Chile. All metals were detected in all analyzed samples (n = 54). Mean concentrations in Coastal Atacama were 0.68 ± 0.84 ppm for Cd; 1.97 ± 2.01 ppm for Pb; 59.11 ± 80.69 ppm for Cu; and 107.96 ± 51.00 ppm for Zn, while mean concentrations in Inland Atacama were 0.55 ± 0.42 ppm for Cd; 3.37 ± 2.61 ppm for Pb; 91.66 ± 77.74 ppm for Cu; and 214.03 ± 99.08 ppm for Zn. Mean concentrations in Coastal Coquimbo were 0.63 ± 0.69 ppm for Cd; 1.57 ± 0.92 ppm for Pb; 18.09 ± 6.12 ppm for Cu; and 149.37 ± 105.56 ppm for Zn. These differences could be explained by differences on abundance of mining settlements among areas. According to the literature, these values are very high for all metals, exceeding in some cases those values referred as responsible of health disorders in birds. We strongly recommend further research looking at potential adverse effects caused by heavy metal pollution on the health of human and wildlife populations in the southern Atacama Desert.
Ultrasonographic quantitative measurements enable characterizing the stiffness and viscosity of liver parenchyma. l-BSO Normal Shear Wave Elastography (SWE) values have been reported in adults and children. The Attenuation Imaging (ATI) coefficient is a measure of local sound energy loss thought to reflect steatosis in adults. The aim of our study was to provide normal SWE and ATI liver values in healthy children.
A prospective monocentric study was conducted recruiting 86 children (45 boys and 41 girls) from a single University Hospital between January 2019 and June 2020, having a clinically indicated ultrasound examination, without a known or documented history of liver disease. Examinations were performed using an Aplio i800 (Canon Medical Systems) ultrasound system with an i8CX1 transducer. SWE measurements were obtained using a color map showing an automated measurement area grid overlay. ATI coefficients were generated automatically for each region of interest in the right liver.
Overall median age for the pediatric population was 106months (1-180months; SD 49months). Children were normal weighted. Liver SWE was available for all children. The median liver SWE was 4.6kPa [3.3-6.6]. ATI yielded valid measurements in 77 patients. The median ATI coefficient was 0.65 [0.5-0.81] dB/cm/MHz. No impact of age, sex, weight and BodyMassIndex was observed.
SWE and ATI liver values were provided in healthy children. The normative quantitative data might be useful to characterize liver parenchyma in children better.

According to the embodied cognition account, this potentiation effect reflects automatic access to object representation, including the grip usually associated with the object. Alternatively, this effect might be due to an overlap between magnitude codes used to code manipulable objects and magnitude codes used to code responses outcomes. In Experiment 1, participants saw objects usually grasped with a power or precision grip and had to press keys either with their forefinger or with their palm, each response generating a low or high tone (i.e., a large vs. small perceptual outcome, respectively). Tones were automatically delivered by headphones after the responses have been made in line with the ideomotor theories according to which voluntary actions are carried out due to the anticipation of their outcomes. Consistent with the magnitude-coding hypothesis, response times were shorter when the object and the anticipated response outcome were of the same magnitude than when they were not. These results were also consistent with a between-experiment analysis. In Experiments 2 and 3, we investigated to what extent removing or switching the outcomes during the experiment influence the potentiation effect. Our results support that the potentiation effect of grasping behaviours could be due to the compatibility between magnitude codes rather than to the involvement of motor representations. Our results also suggest a spontaneous use of the magnitude of response outcomes to code responses, as well as the flexibility of this coding processes when responses outcomes are altered.
