To investigate the associations of PM2.5 and HRV in old adults whose average age was 55 years old or above, we conducted a meta-analysis of nineteen longitudinal studies including nine short-term and ten long-term studies. In the short-term exposure group, per 10 μg/m3 increase of PM2.5 was associated with decreases in the time-domain measurements, for SDNN -0.39% (95% CI -0.72%, -0.06%) and for RMSSD -1.20% (95% CI -2.17%, -0.23%) and in frequency-domain measurements, for LF -2.31% (95% CI -3.85%, -0.77%) and for HF -1.87% (95% CI -3.45%, -0.29%); In the long-term exposure group, per 10 μg/m3 increase of PM2.5 was associated with decreases in the time-domain measurements, for SDNN -0.92% (95% CI -2.14%, 0.31%) and for RMSSD -1.96% (95% CI -3.48%, -0.44%) and in frequency-domain measurements, for LF -2.78% (95% CI -4.02%, -1.55%) and for HF -1.61% (95% CI -4.02%, 0.80%). Women with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) are more likely to have a history of childhood trauma, and may experience more severe premenstrual symptomatology. However, the pathway in which childhood trauma affects the prevalence and severity of premenstrual symptoms remains largely unclear.

To determine whether childhood trauma is associated with increased premenstrual symptoms, and if so, whether emotional dysregulation mediates or moderates this relationship.

A total of 112 women were recruited for the study among students at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Participants completed the Premenstrual Symptoms Screening Tool (PSST), the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ) and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS). To test the mediation hypothesis, direct and indirect effects of childhood trauma on premenstrual symptoms were calculated. To test moderation, we performed multiple regression, including the interaction term between childhood trauma and emotion dysregulation RESULTS Twapt to premenstrual changes.

Colour is an important component of camouflage, and the task of designing a single camouflage pattern for use against multiple different backgrounds is particularly challenging. As it is impossible to match the colour gamut of each background exactly, the question arises which colours from the different backgrounds should be incorporated in a camouflage pattern to achieve optimal concealment. Here, we used a visual search paradigm to address this question. Observers searched multi-coloured continuous textures for target regions defined by either the presence or absence of additional hues. Targets could be either a combination of five hues against a four-hued background ("patches"), or a combination of four hues against a five-hued background ("holes"). In Experiment 1, a search asymmetry was observed for the different targets, as observers were less accurate and slower at detecting holes than patches. Additionally, we observed a linear separability effect search for a target was more difficult when the hue that defined the target was within the gamut of distractor colours (e.g. orange amongst reds and yellows).
