70%, 47.05%, and 44.12%, respectively. The Sb concentrations at the sampling sites were low, and there was no obvious pollution. Health risk assessment showed that the target hazard quotient followed the order of As> Cr> Cd> Pb> 1.0> Co> Cu> Zn> Ni> Sb, and the carcinogenic risk value was in the order of Cd> Ni> As> Cr> 1.0×10-4> Pb. In particular, quick actions should be taken to regulate As, Cr, and Cd contents in rice because they posed greater non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic health risks than the others to the local residents.Petroleum hydrocarbons are hazardous to ecosystems and human health, commonly containing n-alkanes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Previous researches have studied alkane degraders and degrading genes under aerobic or anaerobic conditions, but seldom discussed them in the intermittent saturation zone which is a connective area between the vadose zone and the groundwater aquifer with periodic alteration of oxygen and moisture. The present study investigated the difference in alkane degradation efficiency, bacterial community, and alkane degrading gene diversity in aerobic, anaerobic, and aerobic-anaerobic fluctuated treatments. All biotic treatments achieved over 90% of n-alkane removal after 120 days of incubation. The removal efficiencies of n-alkanes with a carbon chain length from 16 to 25 were much higher in anaerobic scenarios than those in aerobic scenarios, explained by different dominant microbes between aerobic and anaerobic conditions. The highest removal efficiency was found in fluctuation treatments, indicating an accelerated n-alkane biodegradation under aerobic-anaerobic alternation. this website In addition, the copy numbers of the 16S rRNA gene and two alkB genes (alkB-P and alkB-R) declined dramatically when switched from aerobic to anaerobic scenarios and oppositely from anaerobic to aerobic conditions. This suggested that water level fluctuation could notably change the presence of aerobic alkane degrading genes. Our results suggested that alkane degradation efficiency, soil microbial community, and alkane-degrading genes were all driven by water level fluctuation in the intermittent saturation zone, helping better understand the effects of seasonal water table fluctuation on the biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons in the subsurface environment. This study considers a supply chain consisting of a dominant brand-name retailer and a manufacturer in the presence of a cap-and-trade mechanism and consumers' low-carbon preference. The retailer exerts advertising efforts, while lacks of the manufacturer's private carbon emission reduction effort cost information. We construct the benchmark model with information symmetry and asymmetry respectively. We obtain all members' equilibrium solutions and analytically examine the impact of the manufacturer's carbon emission reduction effort cost, the retailer's advertising effort cost, and consumers' low-carbon preference on the supply chain members' decisions. And then, we systematically compare two scenarios to obtain the condition in which the manufacturer would be willing to share the private information. With the aim of improving the manufacturer's carbon emission reduction effort level and all members' economic performance, we further propose a two-part tariff contract for information symmetry and asymmetry, respectively.Environmental pollution has become more diversified in recent years as technologies for urbanization is increasingly more advanced. Several environmental factors such as air and water pollutants have been linked to allergic symptoms. For instance, because of industrialization for city development in many countries, polluted soil or tiny particles in the air could result in an even more hazardous environment for people to reside. Aside from the aspects of environmental issues, other newly emerging factors such as the electromagnetic field (EMF) also require further investigation. Here, in this narrative review, we focused on allergens from atmospheric and water pollution, hygiene improvement, changes in food trend, and residential environmental pollution. Current evidences regarding the association between various pollutants and the potential clinical diseases could be induced. For people with high skin exposure to air pollutants such as PM 2.5, PM 10, or sulfur dioxide, potential onset of dermatological allergic events should be alerted. The mechanisms involved in allergic diseases are being discussed and summarized. Interactions between immunological mechanisms and clinical implications could potentially provide clearer view to the association between allergic status and pollutants. Moreover, understanding the mechanistic role of allergens can raise awareness to global environment and public health.High soil copper (Cu) concentrations in vineyards can cause phytotoxicity to grapevine rootstocks. In order to mitigate toxicity, the use of grapevine rootstock genetic variation and the application of amendments are possible strategies. The aim of this study is to assess the tolerance of grapevine rootstocks to Cu excess and whether phosphorus (P) and calcium (Ca) can reduce phytotoxicity caused by Cu. Grapevine rootstock seedlings were produced from selected stakes Paulsen 1103 (Vitis berlandieri × Vitis rupestris); SO4 (Vitis berlandieri × Vitis riparia); IAC 572 ((Vitis Riparia × Vitis rupestris) × Vitis caribaea); and Isabel (Vitis labrusca). Seedlings were grown in nutrition solution added with the following treatments 0.3 µM Cu (control); 60 µM Cu; 60 µM Cu and 62 mg L-1 P; 60 µM Cu and 400 mg L-1 Ca. High Cu concentration caused phytotoxicity in all rootstocks, impairing their growth and decreasing nutrient concentration and photosynthetic activity. P and Ca addition had positive effect on the photosynthetic activity of all rootstocks, although it was not enough to revert growth to levels comparable with controls. Overall, based on the results, the application of P and Ca was not efficient in mitigating Cu phytotoxicity in grapevine plants grown in solution. Isabel was the most sensitive rootstock to Cu phytotoxicity, whereas Paulsen 1103 and SO4 presented more tolerance and can be used, together with other management strategies, in contaminated vineyard areas. Therefore, careful genotype rootstock selection for use in high Cu soils is important, while Ca and P are not efficient mitigators of Cu toxicity.Coastal rivers contributed the majority of anthropogenic nitrogen (N) loads to coastal waters, often resulting in eutrophication and hypoxia zones. Accurate N source identification is critical for optimizing coastal river N pollution control strategies. Based on a 2-year seasonal record of dual stable isotopes ([Formula see text] and [Formula see text]) and water quality parameters, this study combined the dual stable isotope-based MixSIAR model and the absolute principal component score-multiple linear regression (APCS-MLR) model to elucidate N dynamics and sources in two coastal rivers of Hangzhou Bay. Water quality/trophic level indices indicated light-to-moderate eutrophication status for the studied rivers. Spatio-temporal variability of water quality was associated with seasonal agricultural, aquaculture, and domestic activities, as well as the seasonal precipitation pattern. The APCS-MLR model identified soil + domestic wastewater (69.5%) and aquaculture tailwater (22.2%) as the major nitrogen pollution sources. The dual stable isotope-based MixSIAR model identified soil N, aquaculture tailwater, domestic wastewater, and atmospheric deposition N contributions of 35.3 ±21.1%, 29.7 ±17.2%, 27.9 ±14.5%, and 7.2 ±11.4% to riverine [Formula see text] in the Cao'e River (CER) and 34.4 ±21.3%, 29.5 ±17.2%, 27.4 ±14.7%, and 8.7 ±12.8% in the Jiantang River (JTR), respectively. The APCS-MLR model and the dual stable isotope-based MixSIAR model showed consistent results for riverine N source identification. Combining these two methods for riverine N source identifications effectively distinguished the mix-source components from the APCS-MLR method and alleviated the high cost of stable isotope analysis, thereby providing reliable N source apportionment results with low requirements for water quality sampling and isotope analysis costs. This study highlights the importance of soil N management and aquaculture tailwater treatment in coastal river N pollution control.Good governance and natural resource rent are important pillars of sustainable development. The paper explores the role of governance and natural resource rent in enlightening the economic, social, and environmental sustainability. To achieve this objective, panel data for six selected South Asian countries from 1996 to 2020 is used. The second-generation unit-root test of Pesaran and panel unit root test of structural break proposed by Karavias and Tzavalis (Computat Stat Data Anal 76 391-407, Karavias and Tzavalis, Comput Stat Data Anal 76391-407, 2014) are utilized to examine the stationarity of variables and results confirm that variables are stationary at first difference. We used the first-generation cointegration test, i.e., Pedroni (1999), Kao (1999), and (Westerlund, Oxford Bull Econ Stat 69709-748, 2007) and second-generation cointegration given by (Westerlund and Edgerton, Oxford Bull Econ Stat 70665-704, 2008) test to confirm the co-integration and make long-run analysis by using fully modified orse gas emissions. The recommendations of the study for policy purposes focus on that the governance will reduce GGE emissions and increase social and economic development and the countries should use more environment-friendly sources.Power technology innovation has been positioned as an effective way to contribute to China's carbon productivity. However, limited empirical evidence exists on the impact of power technology innovation on carbon productivity. Thus, based on the annual panel dataset of 30 China's provinces from 2001 to 2019, this study explored whether and how power technology innovation promotes or impedes the improvement of carbon productivity. First, carbon productivity in the framework of total factor was calculated based on the metafrontier Malmquist-Luenberger productivity index. Second, the effect of power technology innovation on carbon productivity was investigated using the spatial Durbin model. And we also examined whether heterogeneous power technology innovations have a synergistic effect on carbon productivity. Third, influence mechanism of power technology innovation affecting carbon productivity was identified. Results show that (1) there are notable differences in China's provincial carbon productivity, which is characterized by the spatial correlation. (2) Local power technology innovation has a promotion effect on carbon productivity in both local and neighboring provinces. Moreover, the promotion effect of breakthrough power technology innovation is stronger than that of incremental power technology innovation. (3) Catching-up Effect and Innovation Effect are important transmission channels through which power technology innovation improves carbon productivity. Finally, policy recommendations are provided.Cancer creates a complex tumor microenvironment (TME) composed of immune cells, stromal cells, blood vessels, and various other cellular and extracellular elements. It is essential for the development of anti-cancer combination therapies to understand and overcome this high heterogeneity and complexity as well as the dynamic interactions between them within the TME. Recent treatment strategies incorporating immune-checkpoint inhibitors and anti-angiogenic agents have brought many changes and advances in clinical cancer treatment. However, there are still challenges for immune suppressive tumors, which are characterized by a lack of T cell infiltration and treatment resistance. In this review, we will investigate the crosstalk between immunity and angiogenesis in the TME. In addition, we will look at strategies designed to enhance anti-cancer immunity, to convert "immune suppressive tumors" into "immune activating tumors," and the mechanisms by which these strategies enhance effector immune cell infiltration.
