opt the 2-step hybrid DIR for TR-4DMRI reconstruction.Zoo veterinarians and allied professionals have been contributing to conservation medicine (CM) and One Health (OH) activities for more than two decades. Although the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) considers conservation a key part of its mission, little published material exists about the extent of AZA work in CM/OH or the challenges and opportunities associated with these endeavors. To better understand the current scope of CM/OH in zoos, we surveyed 53 AZA-accredited institutions from April through October of 2016. We obtained information on CM/OH infrastructure, support for expansion in this area, and strategies to overcome perceived obstacles hindering CM/OH from becoming a core AZA activity. Survey results revealed that while most zoos favor greater investment in CM/OH programs, awareness, and understanding of CM/OH across the broader zoo community and public is lacking. The majority of respondents stated that overcoming this challenge is paramount to attaining support for CM/OH initiatives. In spite of these obstacles, survey respondents highlighted many positive developments in CM/OH. We found that 84% of zoos surveyed are actively engaged in CM/OH activities, and 12% house formal CM/OH programs. Another 8% of respondents said their institutions were developing CM/OH programs. Perhaps most noteworthy, we found that zoo size did not have a significant bearing on the financial amount allocated toward an institution's CM/OH activities. #link# This suggests that all zoos, regardless of size, can make meaningful contributions to the growing movement of CM/OH and help redefine the role of zoos within this movement.Significant evolution has been made concerning resuscitation and emergency management of severely burned patients, and nowadays most patients will survive and deal with burns sequelae. They constitute a reconstructive challenge, mainly because options and donor areas are frequently compromised, results are often limited, and other options should then be considered. A 27-year-old male patient with 55% total burn surface area, presented with severe facial disfigurement including ectropion, upper/lower lip retraction, and partial loss of the nose. In order to improve the patient's condition, autologous reconstruction was considered. The only unburned area in the body was the left dorsal region, and a three-stage reconstruction was planned using a paraescapular flap. In a first stage, an elective surgery was performed to identify and tag the recipient vessels in the neck. After 3 months, the prelamination process was initiated with the drawing of a facial model, and a nose and lips were opened inside the flap. This was based on a three-dimensional latex model as a print of the patient's face, which allowed us to calculate distances and estimate the length of the vascular pedicles. After 3 months, the flap (18 × 8 cm) was transferred and microvascular anastomoses were performed. No major complications were seen after surgeries, and after 28 months, an extremely important functional gain was obtained. Despite the number of surgeries required and less than optimal aesthetic results, this method may offer a satisfactory solution for complex acquired facial burn sequelae when other local or distant flap options are not available.
To evaluate the efficacy of single and combined use of biofeedback (BF) and electrical stimulation (ES) added to bladder training (BT) on incontinence-related quality of life (QoL) and clinical parameters in women with idiopathic overactive bladder (OAB).
Seventy women were randomized into four groups as follows Group 1 received BT alone (n = 18), Group 2 received BT+BF (n = 17), Group 3 received BT+ES (n = 18), and Group 4 received BT + BF + ES (n = 17). BF and ES were performed 3 days a week, 20 mina day, a total of 24 sessions for 8 weeks. All women were evaluated in terms of incontinence severity (pad test), pelvic floor muscles strength (perineometer), 3-day voiding diary (frequency of voiding, nocturia, incontinence episodes, and number of pads), QoL (incontinence impact questionnaire), treatment success (positive response rate), cure/improvement rate, treatment satisfaction (Likert scale), and discomfort level (visual analog scale).
At the end of the treatment, severity of incontinence, frequencyent of women with idiopathic OAB (i) adding BF and/or ES to BT increases treatment effectiveness, (ii) clinical efficiency is greater when the combination includes ES, (iii) BT + BF + ES (triple combination) is the most effective treatment option in reducing nocturia and improving QoL.
To assess performance, acceptability, external validity, and reliability of a phone application electronic bowel diary (PFDN Bowel eDiary).
Women reporting refractory accidental bowel leakage (ABL) were enrolled in a randomized, crossover trial evaluating paper versus eDiary documentation of bowel movements (BM) and fecal incontinence episodes (FIE). Events were characterized by the presence or absence of urgency and Bristol stool scale consistency. The eDiary entries were date/time stamped and prompted by twice-daily phone notifications. Women were randomized to complete up to three consecutive 14-day diaries in two sequences. Diary events were compared between formats using the Pearson correlation. System usability scale (SUS) assessed eDiary usability. The eDiary test-retest reliability was assessed with intraclass correlations (ICCs).
Paired diary data were available from 60/69 (87%) women 63.8 ± 9.8 years old with mean 13.2 BM per week and 6.5 FIE per week (nearly half with urgency). Among those providing diaries, adherence did not differ by paper or eDiary (93.3% vs. 95.0%). Notifications prompted 29.6% of eDiary entries, improving adherence from 70% to 95%. Paper and eDiaries were moderate to-strongly correlated for BMs per week (r = .61), urgency BMs per week (r = .76), FIE per week (r = .66), urgency FIE per week (r = .72). Test-retest reliability was good (ICC = .81 BMs per week, .79 urgency BMs per week, .74 FIE per week, and .62 urgency FIE per week). The mean SUS score was high, 82.3 ± 17.5 (range, 0-100) with 91.4% rating it easy to use, and 75.9% preferring the eDiary over paper.
The PFDN Bowel eDiary correlated well with paper diary was considered easy to use, preferred to paper diaries, had high rates of confirmed real-time diary completion that obviated staff data entry.

The scale-up of the original small-scale synthesis required the development of several heavily modified synthetic methods, including a chlorination/Friedel-Crafts alkylation protocol and an iodination/Wurtz coupling protocol, which were performed on 25-30 g and 30-60 g scales, respectively. Two separate sets of conditions for the key teropyrene-forming cyclodehydrogenation reaction at the end of the synthetic pathway were developed, an acid-promoted one for the two less strained congeners and an acid-free method for the two more strained homologues.
The purpose of the present study was to translate and validate the Incontinence Quiz (IQ) questionnaire into a Portuguese version.
The Portuguese version of the 14-item Incontinence Quiz was prepared following translation and back-translation procedures and was tested on a pilot group of 10 women. Internal consistency (Cronbach's α), test-retest reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient [ICC]), and construct validity (using two indicators education level and being a qualified health professional) were assessed in 141 women from the staff of two higher education institutions. Participant's socio-demographic characteristics were collected by questionnaire.
The translation and back-translation process was performed without constraints. Cronbach's α ranged from 0.696 (Item 13) to 0.748 (Item 6), and global Chronbach's α was .740. link2 ICC values for the IQ total score were .78,.57, and.79 for correct, wrong, and do not know answers, respectively. Both economic indicators were positively associated with the percentage of correct answers.
PF-477736 and reliability of the translated Portuguese IQ were achieved which will allow the comparison of results with studies in other cultures.

The American Urological Association/SocietyofUrodynamics,FemalePelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction stress urinary incontinence (SUI) guidelines strongly recommend the midurethral sling (MUS) for the index female patient with SUI. While numerous studies report long-term outcomes and complications for the retropubic MUS, these are largely absent for the transobturator MUS and are assessed in this study.
This is an Institutional Review Board approvedretrospective chart review of all women who underwent a transobturator MUS at a single institution from 2004 to 2010. Pre- and postoperative assessment included a cough-stress test, SEAPI assessment, and validated quality-of-life (QoL) questionnaires. SUI resolution was defined asno subjective or objective SUI, and no additional surgery to achieve stress continence.
Of 437 women, 305 (70%) had a minimum follow-up of 48 months (mean 88; median 92). SUI was resolved in 69% of the entire cohort and 58% of the 78 women who had MUS only. The median time to SUI recurrence was 38 months in the entire cohort and 18 months in the MUS only group. Perioperative complications were infrequent and typically associated with concomitant surgery. A statistically significant improvement was observed in SEAPI scores and all QoL indices postoperatively.
Long-term resolution of SUI after the transobturator MUS is achieved by 69%, which is commensurate with success rates reported in the literature. link3 Overall, women experience a significant improvement in their QoL after transobturator MUS; however, late recurrences and delayed sequelae may occur. Thus, long-term follow-up is warranted in this population.

One of the challenges in developing effective hair loss therapies is the lack of reliable methods to monitor treatment response or alopecia progression. In this study, we propose the use of optical coherence tomography (OCT) and automated deep learning to non-invasively evaluate hair and follicle counts that may be used to monitor the success of hair growth therapy more accurately and efficiently.
We collected 70 OCT scans from 14 patients with alopecia and trained a convolutional neural network (CNN) to automatically count all follicles present in the scans. The model is based on a dual approach of both detecting hair follicles and estimating the local hair density in order to give accurate counts even for cases where two or more adjacent hairs are in close proximity to each other.
We evaluate our system on 70 OCT manually labeled scans taken at different scalp locations from 14 patients, with 20 of those redundantly labeled by two human expert OCT operators. When comparing the individual human predictions and considering the exact locations of hair and follicle predictions, we find that the two human raters disagree with each other on approximately 22% of hairs and follicles.
