weight gain were found to be sub-optimal in the study population. However, the median time to recovery was within the national recommendation. There was no significant difference in the recovery rate and time to recovery between the two groups. Treatment failures and the presence of tuberculosis and anemia were indicators for prolonged stabilization phase and time to achieve nutritional cure. Optimal average daily weight gain and clinical management of comorbidities may enhance early recovery in hospitalised children with SAM.

In Ethiopia, oral health prevention and treatment have gotten low attention in the government, and the existing dental services are privately owned and thus expensive. Hence, this study aimed to assess the prevalence of dental caries and its associated factors among governmental primary school children in Debre Berhan town, Ethiopia, 2019.

An institutional-based cross-sectional study was conducted from January 30 to February 14/2019. A total of 417 primary school children were selected using computer-generated simple random sampling and interviewed using structured and pretested questionnaires. Data were coded, entered, and cleaned using Epi-data version 3.1 and export to SPSS version 22 for analysis. Binary logistic regression analysis was employed to test the association between dependent and independent variables. P-value less than 0.05 was taken as significant association. Finally, the result of this study was present by text, tables, and graphs.

Out of the 396 study participants, 135 (34.1%) had dest, merchant occupation reduced the chance of dental caries. Giving health education to minimize drinking sugar tea and cleaning their teeth after consumption of sugar tea should be given attention.

Approximately 5-10% of patients with asthma have severe disease. High-quality real-world studies are needed to identify areas for improved management.

Aligned with the International Severe Asthma Registry, the CHRONICLE study (ClinicalTrials.gov NCT03373045) was developed to address this need in the US.

Learnings from prior studies were applied to develop a real-world, prospective, noninterventional study of US patients with confirmed severe asthma who are treated by subspecialist physicians and require biologic or maintenance systemic immunosuppressant therapy or who are uncontrolled by high-dosage inhaled corticosteroids and additional controllers. HRO761 datasheet Target enrollment is 4000 patients, with patient observation for ≥3 years. A geographically diverse sample of allergist/immunologist and pulmonologist sites approach all eligible patients under their care and report patient characteristics, treatment, and health outcomes every 6 months. Patients complete online surveys every 1-6 months.

From February 2018 to February 2019, 102 sites screened 1428 eligible patients; 936 patients enrolled. Study sites (40% allergist/immunologist, 42% pulmonologist, 18% both) were similar to other US asthma subspecialist samples. Enrolled patients were 67% female with median ages at enrollment and diagnosis of 55 (range 18-89) and 26 (0-80) years, respectively. Median body mass index was 31 kg/m

; 3% and 29% were current or former smokers, respectively, and >60% reported ≥1 exacerbation in the prior year and suboptimal symptom control.

CHRONICLE will provide high-quality provider- and patient-reported data from a large, real-world cohort of US adults with subspecialist-treated severe asthma.

There are many options available to patients who are placed on constant positive airway pressure (CPAP) for obstructive sleep apnea. Despite the success of CPAP in correcting apnea, a significant number of patients have difficulty with the therapy. A large number of those patients who have difficulty stop therapy and are often labeled as "CPAP Failure". Non-sleep specialists may view CPAP therapy as a singular course of treatment, but there are many ways CPAP may be ordered for a patient. Each patient experiences a unique set of options that constitute a unique order set.

In order to demonstrate the magnitude of the possible options, estimates of the number of unique order sets were calculated. The author chose individual order options and the number of selections possible within each option. The calculated sets included a "Generous, Limited and Minimal" number of selections for each option. Calculations were done separately for standard CPAP and for auto-adjusting CPAP. Additional calculations were perfoexperiences may help explain a significant number of those patients' CPAP therapy problems.

Sleep is an inseparable part of human health and life, which is crucial in learning, practice, as well as physical and mental health. It affects the capacity of individual learning, academic performance, and neural-behavioral functions. This study aimed to determine the relationship between sleep quality and students' academic achievement among students at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences.

In this cross-sectional study, 102 medical students from different fields, with maximum variation sampling, completed Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). For data analysis, SPSS 19 was used through which Pearson correlation test, Spearman test, and

-test were employed.

Based on the quality of sleep questionnaire scores, the results indicated no significant difference between students with high grades and those with low grades. However, there were moderate and sometimes severe sleep disturbances in both groups.

The results showed no significant difference between sleep quality and academic achievement. Nevertheless, longitudinal study should be performed to control for confounding factors.

To reexamine the etiology of a unique retinal pathology (linear and vermiform sub-retinal tubular structures) described among subjects with and without neurodegenerative disease in former high-incidence foci of Western Pacific amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and parkinsonism-dementia complex (ALS/PDC) in Guam (USA) and the Kii peninsula of Honshu island (Japan).

Analysis of published and unpublished reports of 1) ALS/PDC and the retinal and cerebellar pathology associated therewith and 2) exogenous neurotoxic factors associated with ALS/PDC and the developing retina and cerebellum.

ALS/PDC retinal and cerebellar pathology matches persistent retinal and cerebellar dysplasia found in laboratory animals given single in utero or postnatal systemic treatment with cycasin, the principal neurotoxic component in the seed of cycad plants traditionally used for food (Guam) or oral medicine (Kii-Japan), both of which have been linked to the human neurodegenerative disease.

ALS/PDC-associated retinal and cerebellar dysplasia could arise from in utero exposure to methylazoxymethanol, the genotoxic metabolite of cycasin that results from maternal ingestion of this azoxyglucoside.
