Easy to install

Fiat 500 key covers are an easy way to freshen your car keys. You can choose from a variety of styles and colors to choose the one that best fits your style. Install them yourself in ten minutes. You'll need an electric screwdriver and a bit of patience. The first step is taking off the cover that was originally installed. This must be removed before the new cover can be put in place.

After removing the old cover Once you have removed the old cover, use a flathead screwdriver to pull out the four major attachment clips located on the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are marked in red on the picture below. Pay attention to the yellow tabs that must also be deactivated.

Replace the old battery with a # CR2032 coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should face the fob's opening, and the "-" side should face the buttons made of rubber.

Reattach the passenger side mirror cover by aligning the tabs that locate it. Once you've done this place the fob that's on the driver's side back into your vehicle and test it. Press the push button at the front of the key. If everything is working as it should the parking lights will be on and the doors should automatically lock.

Easy to remove

The key fob has a microchip in it that is used to communicate with the Body Control Module (BCM). When you insert the key in your Fiat key fob, it press an ignition switch, which is used as an "key-in-ignition" reminder. The BCM will then be in a position to read the transponder in the key fob and confirm that it's a valid.
