Bananas are vulnerable to disease and insect pests after producing fruit. In order to increase the yield and produce high-quality fruit, the insecticides and fungicides are mixed and applied 2-3 times on banana, then the fruit is bagged. Buprofezin, imidacloprid, difenoconazole, and pyraclostrobin are widely used on banana. However, there is a lack of research on the effect of fruit bagging on pesticide dissipation and residues on bananas.
A versatile liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method with modified QuEChERS sample preparation has been developed for the determination of buprofezin, imidacloprid, difenoconazole, and pyraclostrobin in bananas. The recovery of four pesticides was satisfactory (74.96-98.63%) with reasonable relative standard deviation (≤ 8.78%). In Hainan and Guangzhou, the half-lives of the four pesticides were 4.68-13.9 and 5.63-20.4 days in non-bagged and bagged bananas, respectively. The significance analysis of the half-lives in the two sites showed that the dissipatiomes of mixed applications under bagging or non-bagging. The results provide scientific data for evaluating the safety of four pesticides in banana bagging. © 2020 Society of Chemical Industry. This research aimed at exploring the effect of Zanthoxylum alkylamides on lipid metabolism and its potential mechanisms using high-fat diet rat model. Treatment with Zanthoxylum alkylamides for 6 weeks, food efficiency and atherogenic index of the low, medium, and high doses of Zanthoxylum alkylamides-treated groups were significantly reduced. Meanwhile, the histopathological structure of the livers showed that hepatic steatosis in the groups treated with Zanthoxylum alkylamides was reduced, particularly the HD group. Moreover, the related genes were studied, such as, liver X receptor (LXR), cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase (CYP7A1), hepatic 3-hydroxyl-2-methylglutaryl CoA (HMG-CoA) reductase, sterol regulatory element-binding protein 2 (SREBP-2), ileal bile acid-binding protein (IBABP), sodium-dependent bile acid transporter (ASBT), and transient receptor potential vanilloid subtype1 (TRPV1). These results demonstrated that Zanthoxylum alkylamides could ameliorate abnormal lipid metabolism in rats fed with a , Zanthoxylum alkylamide has the potential for preventing or alleviating high-energy intake-related obesity. The ubiquitin-proteasome system plays a central role performing several functions to maintain parasite homeostasis. We have reported the partial characterization of N-linked glycosylation profile in E. histolytica ubiquitin (EhUb). Here we examined the immunogenicity and antigenicity of carbohydrates in EhUbiquitin. Rabbits were immunized with purified EhUbiquitin or purified recombinant rUb expressed by E. coli. Using Western Blot, we explored the immunogenicity and antigenicity of protein portion and carbohydrates moiety. Interestingly, immunized rabbits produced antibodies to both Ub glycoprotein and rUb; but antibodies against carbohydrates were immunodominant, rather than antibodies to the protein moiety of EhUbiquitin. In addition, we observed that antibodies to protein moiety are not conserved in serum unless antigen is continually administrated. Conversely, anti-Ub glycoprotein antibodies are well maintained in circulation. Selleckchem CH-223191 In humans, infection with Entamoeba histolytica induces strong IgG anti-Ub response. The human antibodies recognize both, the protein moieties and the glycosylated structure. Entamoeba histolytica ubiquitin is immunogenic and antigenic. The glycan moieties are immunodominant and induces IgG. These data open the door to use carbohydrates as potential targets for diagnose tests, drugs and vaccine to prevent this parasitic disease.
Lactobacillus plantarum, a common species of lactic acid bacteria, is used to improve the flavor of traditional fermented food. Under salt stress, different strains of L. plantarum can respond differently. In this work, proteomics and bioinformatics analysis of L. plantarum strains (ATCC14917, FS5-5, and 208) grown under salt stress (240 g L
sodium chloride (NaCl)) were investigated based on the isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation method.
Although 171 differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) were observed, only 44, 57, and 112 DEPs were identified in the strains ATCC14917, FS5-5, and 208 respectively. There were 33, 191, and 179 specific DEPs in ATCC14917 versus FS5-5, in 208 versus FS5-5, and in strain 208 versus ATCC14917 in 240 g L
NaCl. These DEPs indicate that the three strains, from pickles, fermented soybean paste, and fermented milk, may have different salt stress responses. Gene Ontology enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analysis showed that most DEPs obsis research provides a theoretical basis for improvement of salt tolerance of L. plantarum in industrial production. © 2020 Society of Chemical Industry.
To explore the experiences of ambulance nurses in emergency care of patients with acute manic and/or psychotic symptoms.
In this qualitative study, 14 interviews were conducted and analyzed using thematic analysis according to Braun and Clarke (2006).
Psychiatric emergency care causes stress and uncomfortable feelings for ambulance nurses due to a lack of information on the patients, being alone with the patient in a small place and the unpredictability of the situation.
More information about the specific patient, education, and good collaboration with other professionals could improve care.

Although the effectiveness of mirror therapy (MT) has been proved in stroke persons, there is no scientific evidence about the results in people with multiple sclerosis. The aim was to investigate whether adding MT to exercise training and neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) has any effect on clinical measurements, mobility, and functionality in people with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Ambulatory people with MS, with unilateral drop foot, were included. MT group (n=13) applied bilateral ankle exercise program with mirror following NMES for 3days a week at hospital and exercise program for 2days a week at home. Control group (n=13) performed same treatment without mirror box (6weeks). The later 6weeks both groups performed only exercise program. Clinical measurements included proprioception, muscle tone of plantar flexor muscles (MAS), muscle strength of dorsiflexor, ankle angular velocity, and range of motion (ROM) of ankle. Functionality (Functional Independence Measurement-FIM), mobility (Rivermead Mobility Index-RMI), ambulation (Functional Ambulation Scale-FAS), duration of stair climb test, and 25-foot walking velocity were assessed at the beginning, in 6th and 12th weeks.
