Multiple psychological consequences of the COVID-19 outbreak and quarantine have been described. However, there is a lack of global conceptualization. We argue that the stressful aspects of the situation, the multiple environmental consequences of the outbreak, and the diversity of symptoms observed in such a situation, suggest that Adjustment disorder (AD) is a promising way to conceptualize the psychological consequences of the outbreak and quarantine. The first aim of the study was to validate the French version of the ADNM. The second aim was to set out adjustment difficulties resulting from COVID-19 outbreak and quarantine.

We recruited 1010 (840 women, 170 men) who consented online to participate. They filled out the French ADNM, visual analogic scales, HADS, IES, and the COPE, to evaluate coping strategies.

We confirmed the factor structure of the ADNM and we found good psychometric properties. We found that 61.3% of participants presented an adjustment disorder related to COVID-19 outbreak. We found multiple risk factors and protective factors to AD due to quarantine and outbreak. We also identified the coping strategies negatively and positively associated with AD.

Umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (UC-MSCs) revealed their key role in immune regulation, offering promising therapeutic perspectives for immune and inflammatory diseases. We aimed to develop a production process of an UC-MSC-based product and then to characterize UC-MSC properties and immunomodulatory activities in vitro, related to their clinical use and finally, to transfer this technology to a good manufacturing practice (GMP) compliant facility, to manufacture an advanced therapy medicinal product (ATMP).

Fifteen human umbilical cords (UCs) were collected to develop the production process. Three batches of UC-MSCs from a single donor were characterized at basal state and after in vitro pro-inflammatory stimulation by interferon-γ (IFNγ) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNFα). Proliferation, immunophenotype, activation markers' expression and the inhibition of T cell proliferation were assessed. Finally, this technology was transferred to a GMP-compliant facility to manufacture an UC-MSC-baγ allowed to decrease significantly T cell proliferation at ratio 1100. The manufacturing process of the UC-MSC-based ATMP was qualified and authorized by the French regulatory agency for clinical use (NCT04333368).

The COVID-19 pandemic has exerted a significant toll on the lives of people who use opioids (PWUOs). At the same time, more flexible regulations around provision of opioid use disorder (OUD) services have led to new opportunities for facilitating access to services for PWUOs. In the current scoping review, we describe new services and service modifications implemented by treatment and harm reduction programs serving PWUO, and discuss implications for policy and practice.

Literature searches were conducted within PubMed, LitCovid, Embase, and PsycInfo for English-language studies published in 2020 that describe a particular program, service, or intervention aimed at facilitating access to OUD treatment and/or harm reduction services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Abstracts were independently screened by two reviewers. Relevant studies were reviewed in full and those that met inclusion criteria underwent final data extraction and synthesis (n = 25). We used a narrative synthesis approach to identify major th technologies to lower thresholds for life-saving treatment and harm reduction services. Such innovations highlight novel patient-centered and feasible approaches to mitigating OUD related harms. Further studies are needed to assess the long-term impact of these approaches and inform policies that improve access to care for PWUOs.

Inhibitory control and attention processing atypicalities are implicated in various diseases, including autism spectrum disorders (ASD). These cognitive functions can be tested by using visually guided saccade-based paradigms in children, adolescents and adults to determine the time course of such disorders.

In this study, using Gap, Step, Overlap and Antisaccade tasks, we analyzed the oculomotor behavior of 82 children, teenagers and adults with high functioning ASD and their peer typically developing (TD) controls in a two-year follow-up study under the auspices of the InFoR-Autism project. Analysis of correlations between oculomotors task measurements and diagnostic assessment of attentional (ADHD-RS and ADHD comorbidity indices) and executive functioning (BRIEF scales) were conducted in order to evaluate their relationship with the oculomotor performance of participants with ASD.

As indicated by the presence of a Gap and Overlap effects in all age groups, the oculomotor performances of ASD participaanticipatory saccades and display a greater trial-to-trial variability in all oculomotor tasks compared to their peers. Our results are indicative of a developmental delay in the maturation of executive and attentional functioning in ASD and of a specific impairment in inhibitory control.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is one of the main causes of chronic liver disease worldwide. Flavonoids, a group of natural compounds, have garnered a great deal of attention in the management of NAFLD because of their profitable effects on glucose and lipid metabolism, inflammation, and oxidative stress which are the pivotal pathophysiological pathways in NAFLD. Naringenin is a citrus-derived flavonoid with a broad spectrum of potential biological effects including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which may exert protective effects against NAFLD. The present clinical trial aims to examine the efficacy of naringenin supplementation on plasma adiponectin and neurogulin-4 (NRG-4) concentrations, metabolic parameters, and liver function indices in overweight/obese patients with NAFLD.

This is a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical study that will investigate the impacts of naringenin supplementation in overweight/obese patients with NAFLD. Liver ultrasonography will blammation through different mechanisms. The current trial will exhibit the effects of naringenin, whether negative or positive, on NAFLD status.

Registered on 6 June 2020.Scaffold hopping is a central task of modern medicinal chemistry for rational drug design, which aims to design molecules of novel scaffolds sharing similar target biological activities toward known hit molecules. Traditionally, scaffolding hopping depends on searching databases of available compounds that can't exploit vast chemical space. In this study, we have re-formulated this task as a supervised molecule-to-molecule translation to generate hopped molecules novel in 2D structure but similar in 3D structure, as inspired by the fact that candidate compounds bind with their targets through 3D conformations. To efficiently train the model, we curated over 50 thousand pairs of molecules with increased bioactivity, similar 3D structure, but different 2D structure from public bioactivity database, which spanned 40 kinases commonly investigated by medicinal chemists. Moreover, we have designed a multimodal molecular transformer architecture by integrating molecular 3D conformer through a spatial graph neural network and protein sequence information through Transformer. The trained DeepHop model was shown able to generate around 70% molecules having improved bioactivity together with high 3D similarity but low 2D scaffold similarity to the template molecules. This ratio was 1.9 times higher than other state-of-the-art deep learning methods and rule- and virtual screening-based methods. Furthermore, we demonstrated that the model could generalize to new target proteins through fine-tuning with a small set of active compounds. Case studies have also shown the advantages and usefulness of DeepHop in practical scaffold hopping scenarios.

Given the absence of a brief scale that reconciles and encompasses different conceptual definitions of well-being (physical, psychological, social and spiritual), the present research aimed at developing and validating a Comprehensive Well-Being Scale (CWBS) that encompasses these different conceptual definition and extend the definition of well-being to transcendental well-being among individuals in recovery of mental illness. The present research focuses on testing the scale among people in recovery of mental illness so that a brief and theoretically comprehensive scale would be available for mental health organization to evaluate the well-being of service users, and to develop and evaluate well-being related services.

A 56-item preliminary well-being scale was developed by a professional panel. In Study 1, 300 mental health service users in Hong Kong were recruited.
