A total of 3948 radiomic features were extracted from three MR sequences. After feature selection, we saved 15 key features for modeling. The AUC, sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy on the testing cohort of the combined model based on radiomic and morphological features were respectively 0.962, 0.828, 0.94, and 0.899. The diagnostic ability of the combined model outperformed the morphological features model and also outperformed the two head and neck radiologists.

The radiologic diagnostic paradigm has thus far evolved with developing technology and availability of better imaging platforms; however, the skewed availability of these imaging modalities in developed vis-à-vis the developing countries along with the lack of uniformity in reporting has led to a consensus on the imaging criteria for diagnosing and response assessment in plasma cell dyscrasia. Therefore, it is imperative for not only the radiologists but also the treating oncologist to be aware of the criteria and appropriate imaging modality to be used in accordance with the clinical question. The review will allow the treating oncologist to answer the following questions on the diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive abilities of various imaging modalities for plasma cell dyscrasia a) What lesions can look like multiple myeloma (MM) but are not?; b) Does the patient have MM? To diagnose MM in a high-risk SMM patient with clinical suspicion, which modality should be used and why?; c) Is the patient responding to therapy on follow-up imaging once treatment is initiated?; d) To interpret commonly seen complications post-therapy, when is it a disease and when is the expected sequel to treatment? Fractures, red marrow reconversion?; and e) When is the appropriate time to flag a patient for further workup when interpreting MRI spine done for back pain in the elderly? How do we differentiate between commonly seen osteoporosis-related degenerative spine versus marrow infiltrative disorder?

The survival value of systematic lymphadenectomy for endometrial cancer is ambiguous and controversial. The current study aimed to evaluate the long-term survival role of combined pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy in patients with presumed early-stage clear cell carcinoma of the endometrium.

Patients in three Chinese teaching hospitals who presented between 2012 and 2017 with apparent early-stage clear cell carcinoma of the endometrium and underwent surgical staging were selected. Patients who did and did not undergo systematic lymphadenectomy were identified and clinicopathological characteristics were compared. Disease-free survival and overall survival were evaluated following the generation of the Kaplan-Meier curves and the comparison using the log-rank test. A Cox proportional hazards model was employed to control for confounders.

The prognostic value of ground glass opacity (GGO) in stage IA non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has been widely recognized. However, studies investigating its value in the related stage IB-IIA lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remains lacking. The impact of adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) on pathological stage IB-IIA LUAD is also controversial.

We retrospectively reviewed the clinical records of 501 patients with pathological stage IB-IIA LUAD at the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center from January 2008 to June 2018. We calculated and compared survival curves using the Kaplan-Meier test and log-rank test. Cox regression models were performed to determine independent prognostic factors of disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS). We established nomograms to predict the OS and DFS of LUAD patients. Calibration and receiver operator characteristic curves were conducted to assess the predictive performance of two nomograms. Based on the nomogram, we identified candidate patients that may most benefit frouseful tool for selecting patients most benefiting from ACT.

Although it is known that tretinoin preferentially depletes myeloid derived suppressor cells in blood, little is known about the effects of tretinoin on the tumour microenvironment, hampering the rational design of clinical trials using tretinoin in combination with ICT. Here, we aimed to identify how tretinoin changed the tumour microenvironment in mouse tumour models, using flow cytometry and RNAseq, and we sought to use that information to establish optimal dosing and scheduling of tretinoin in combination with several ICT antibodies in multiple cancer models. We found that tretinoin rapidly induced an interferon dominated inflammatory tumour microenvironment, characterised by increased CD8+ T cell infiltration. This phenotype completely overlapped with the phenotype that was induced by ICT itself, and we confirmed that the combination further amplified this inflammatory milieu. The addition of tretinoin significantly improved the efficacy of anti-CTLA4/anti-PD-L1 combination therapy, and staggered scheduling was more efficacious than concomitant scheduling, in a dose-dependent manner. To evaluate the dosimetric characteristics and the clinical application of radioactive iodine-125 brachytherapy stent (RIBS) in malignant esophageal obstruction.

The dose distribution of RIBS with different seed spacing, diameter and length was studied by treatment planning system (TPS) calculation, thermoluminescence dosimeter (TLD) measurement and Monte Carlo (MC) data fitting. And the data of esophageal cancer patients who were treat with this type of RIBS was analyzed retrospectively.

Doses around the RIBS calculated by the TPS lay between those measured by the TLDs and those simulated by the MC, and the differences between the three methods were significant (p<0.05), the overall absolute dose differences among the three methods were small. Dose coverage at 1.5 cm from the center was comprehensive when the activity reached 0.6 mCi. Both the conformability and the uniformity of isodose lines produced by a seed spacing of 1.0 cm were superior to those produced by a seed spacing of 1.5 cm. The data of 50 patients treated with RIBS was analyzed.
