1. Shoelaces
Shoelaces may not be the best option when you're locked out of your car, but they can actually be very helpful when you know what to do. If you own a car with the locking tab mechanism which slides vertically up and down typically in front of the window, there's an easy method that you can use to unlock your car using nothing more than shoes.
First, remove the shoelaces from a pair of shoes you're not wearing, then tie a slip knot in the middle of the shoelaces. Bring both ends together to form a loop around 3/4 of the length of the shoelaces. Now, slide the resulting knot down into the crack between your car door and the frame, and adjust the shoelace until it hooks around the lock mechanism. It could require some trial and trial and error to get the shoelace to be secured. Once it's hooked you are able to pull both ends to unlock your car.
The most important thing to keep in mind when using this method is to do it slowly and be sure not to scratch or damage your car in the process. If you can successfully use this method to open your car, it can help you save the cost of roadside assistance or a locksmith service and get you back on track in a fraction of the time.
While this is an excellent alternative to other abrasive methods, such as using coat hangers (which can scratch your car) however, it may not always work, especially on more advanced models of cars. If the locking system of your vehicle doesn't respond, you may need to use a screwdriver or a long wooden bar to pry it open.

You can unlock your car with an easy wire coathanger by sliding it between the door and the door frame. Slide the hanger down into the gap, and then bend it into a small "V" shape so that it gets a good grip on the post of the lock. Pull it up and you'll release the pin that controls the lock. You may have to move the hook back and forth a few times before you spot something that causes the lock to move, but it should not require a lot of effort to lift the bar.
If you're not able to reach the hook of the coat hanger out of the control arm, put it between the window and the weather stripping. The hook end of the hanger might be needed to locate this spot. Once you've located it then jiggle and wiggle until you can hear the door unlock. This is a risky method, but it can also be a great way to gain entry into your vehicle without the need for professional assistance or the use of a key. Then, slide the strip through the pried open door and, when it gets to the lock, wrap it around the knob and pull it upwards. This method can be messy, but it's faster than using a screwdriver, or a coathanger.
If you're a recent car owner, it's likely that the lock mechanism isn't in a traditional handle on the outside of the vehicle but instead is situated at the top of the window, close to the weather stripping. To unlock a car with this type of lock, you'll need bend the tip of a wire hanger into a hook, then place it in the space between the window and the door (or the weather stripping) until it reaches the lever or lock switch.

Then, a hand pump is used to blow up the bag until it separates the vehicle door from the window of the vehicle and makes an opening wide enough to allow for the use of a car unlocking tool. This allows you to break the manual lock mechanism and unlock a car's door without the need for a key.
