We present 5 cases of patients with HP for whom AF therapy was added to IS. Trends observed in the cohort include reduced decline in FVC, oxygen requirement, and symptoms in the year after adding AF to IS in 4 of the 5 patients. All 5 patients (100%) in our series demonstrated progression in the year prior to initiation of antifibrotic based on criteria outlined in the INBUILD trial, but only 1 of 5 (20%) progressed in the year after AF. There was a significant decrease in the rate of relative decline in % predicted FVC in the 12 months after initiation of antifibrotic compared to the 12 months prior to antifibrotic (0.4% ±7.6 vs -17.5% ±7.6, p = 0.0495). Compared to the 12 months prior to antifibrotic therapy, fewer patients met criteria for progression in the 12 months after initiating antifibrotic therapy (p = 0.048). Similarly, fewer patients met criteria for progression in the 6 months after initiating antifibrotic therapy compared to the 6 months prior (p = 0.048). A larger study with control groups on IS alone and AF alone is needed to confirm the role of AF therapy in combination with IS in patients with HP.

Vaccination against COVID-19 remains as a main root of COVID-19 prevention. Few vaccines have been launched for this purpose recently with different side effects. Thrombotic events have been reported as a rare side effect after ChAdox1nCOV-19 vaccination that may cause death of recipient.

We report a case of hepatic artery occlusion after the first dose vaccination by ChAdOx1nCov-19. The patient was a health care worker, aged 34-year old. Past medical history was unremarkable and had not used heparin. Over the next couple of days after the vaccination, he reported headache, nausea, and dizziness as well as abdominal pain. His general status and the laboratories studies deteriorate quickly by increasing liver enzymes and severe coagulopathy. Clinically he had presented acute hepatic failure. He had been received blood products, prednisolone pulse along with broad antibiotics without benefit. He died on the sixth day.

Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has eased the situation to a great extent, also COVID-19 has motivated scientists to make new 'Smart' healthcare system focusing towards early diagnosis, prevention of spread, education and treatment and facilitate living in the new normal. This review aims to identify the role of IoMT applications in improving healthcare system and to analyze the status of research demonstrating effectiveness of IoMT benefits to the patient and healthcare system along with a brief insight into technologies supplementing IoMT and challenges faced in developing a smart healthcare system. An internet-based search in PUBMED, Google Scholar and IEEE Library for english language publications using relevant terms resulted in 987 articles. After screening title, abstract, and content related to IoMT in healthcare and excluding duplicate articles, 135 articles published in journal with impact factor ≥1 were eligible for inclusion. Also relevant articles from the references of the selected articles were considered. The habituation of IoMT and related technology has resolved several difficulties using remote monitoring, telemedicine, robotics, sensors etc. However mass adoption seems challenging due to factors like privacy and security of data, management of large amount of data, scalability and upgradation etc. Although ample knowledge has been compiled and exchanged, this structured systematic review will help the healthcare practitioners, policymakers/decision makers, scientists and researchers to gauge the applicability of IoMT in healthcare more efficiently.International travel and the infrastructures involved are key elements in controlling and predicting the number of infections by an infectious disease (specifically COVID-19 cases). This research presents the rates or percentages of compliance with COVID-19 mitigation measures at several international airports in Europe (Madrid, Dublin, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Zurich, Barcelona, and Bilbao). A structured survey called the COVID-19 Measures Implementation Rate at Airports (MIRA) was developed. First, the validity and reliability of the measurements obtained by MIRA were analyzed. A total of 1239 volunteers (passengers, cabin crew, and ground crew) participated in the study and answered the MIRA questionnaire. Second, once the validity and reliability of the measurements were assured, the rates or percentages of cases that observed compliance with the mitigation measures were calculated. The results indicated that participants perceived a low degree of compliance with sanitary measures in their international travel (the proportions ranged from 52.6% to 59%). The airports with the highest compliance with mitigation measures were the Dublin (with a rate of 70%) and Zurich airports (with a rate of 69.1%). In conclusion, the percentages could be low due to the ineffective implementation of some of the mitigation measures. The low percentages are not related to the health measures themselves. The implications of mitigation measures for containing the transmission of infectious diseases such as COVID-19 are discussed.2-Phenoxyacetamide group has been identified as one of markers in the discovery and development of SARS-CoV-2 antiviral agent through its main protease (Mpro) inhibition pathway. This study aims to study a series of 2-phenoxyacetamide derivatives using in silico method toward SARS-CoV-2 Mpro as the protein target. The study was initiated by employing structure-based pharmacophore to virtually screen and to select the ligands, which have the best fit score (hits) along with the common pharmacophore features being matched. The result shows that from the 11 ligands designed, four ligands are selected as the hits by demonstrating fit score in the range of 56.20 to 65.53 to the pharmacophore model, employing hydrogen bond acceptor (HBA) and hydrophobic (H) as the common features. The hits were then docked into the binding site of the Mpro to see the binding mode of the corresponding hits as well as its affinity. The docking results free energy of binding (ΔGbind) of the hits are in agreement with the pharmacophore fit score, in the range of -6.83 to -7.20 kcal/ mol. To gain the information of the hits as a potential drug to be developed, the in silico study was further proceed by predicting the mutagenic potency, toxicity and pharmacokinetic profiles. Based on the efficiency percentage, all hits meet the criteria as drug candidates by showing 84-88% leading to a conclusion that 2-phenoxyacetamide derivatives are beneficial to be marked as the lead compound for SARS-CoV-2 Mpro inhibitor.Risky decision-making lies at the center of the COVID-19 pandemic and will determine future viral outbreaks. Therefore, a critical evaluation of major explanations of such decision-making is of acute practical importance. We review the underlying mechanisms and predictions offered by expectancy-value and dual-process theories. We then highlight how fuzzy-trace theory builds on these approaches and provides further insight into how knowledge, emotions, values, and metacognitive inhibition influence risky decision-making through its unique mental representational architecture (i.e., parallel verbatim and gist representations of information). We discuss how social values relate to decision-making according to fuzzy-trace theory, including how categorical gist representations cue core values. Although gist often supports health-promoting behaviors such as vaccination, social distancing, and mask-wearing, why this is not always the case as with status-quo gist is explained, and suggestions are offered for how to overcome the "battle for the gist" as it plays out in social media.There are large amounts of data generated within the biopharmaceutical sector. In this article, the adoption of data analysis techniques within the biopharmaceutical sector is evaluated through a review of journal articles and patents published within the last ten years. The papers objectives are to identify the most dominant algorithms applied across different applications areas within the biopharmaceutical sector and to explore whether there is a trend between the size of the data set and the algorithm adopted.Individual behaviors are critical for preventing the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection. Given that both protective and risky behaviors influence risk of infection, it is critical that we understand how such behaviors cluster together and in whom. Using a data-driven approach, we identified clusters of COVID-19-related protective and risky behaviors and examined associations with socio-demographic, pandemic, and mental health factors. Data came from a cross-sectional online U.S. nationwide study of 832 adults with high levels of pre-pandemic trauma. Latent class analysis was performed with ten protective (e.g., washing hands, wearing masks) and eight risky (e.g., attending indoor restaurants, taking a flight) behaviors for COVID-19. Then, we examined distributions of socio-demographic and pandemic factors across behavior classes using ANOVA or Chi-square tests, and associations between mental health factors (depressive, anxiety, posttraumatic stress symptoms) and behavior classes using multinomial logistic regression.
