His father, Elder T.E Oyakhilome (Assemblies of God Church, Benin City) was one of the pioneers. Pastor Chris His son Pastor Chris was truly inspired by his father. Being raised in the context of a Christian home is an incredible blessing.

We can only imagine how proud his father must feel watching his son's efforts to spread the Gospel message about Jesus Christ being our Savior. His father's efforts surely been a huge influence on the young Chris Oyakhilome. At the age of nine, he embarked on his first mission.

Chris Oyakhilome stayed true to the commandment to honour your parents. From leading prayer meetings at the university level to preaching to millions of people, Pastor Chris has been a fatherly figure with the fervor of a faithful and devout Christian.

Pastor Chris has honoured his mother Angelina when she turned 80 with a celebration in Benin.

She is often referred to as the "quintessential maternal figure" and is revered by her fairness. She is a caring mother, grandmother, and mother in-law who has instilled her divine grace upon her son.

She was inspired to write the hit song "Holy Spirit", which is an ode to her profound Christian dedication.
