Based on larval growth data and economic considerations, diets composed of wheat middlings with a 10-15% inclusion of rapeseed meal were identified as suitable feed for LM. In this study, we present the structural elucidation of six, not described yet, metabolites of an antipsychotic molecule molindone. The elucidation of metabolites was supported with a novel photocatalytical approach with the use of WO3 and WS2 assisted photochemical reactions. An UHPLC-ESI-Q-TOF combined system was used for the registration of all obtained metabolite profiles as well as to record the high resolution fragmentation spectra of the observed transformation products. As a reference in the in vitro metabolism simulation method, the incubation with human liver microsomes was used. Chemometric comparison of the obtained profiles pointed out the use of the WO3 approach as being more convenient in the field of drug metabolism studies. Moreover, the photocatalysis was used in the direction of the main drug metabolite synthesis in order to further isolation and characterization.Imperfect channel state information (I-CSI) and imperfect transceiver hardware often happen in wireless communication systems due to the time-varying and random characteristics of both wireless channels and hardware components. The impacts of I-CSI and hardware impairments (HI) reduce not only the system performance but also the self-interference cancellation (SIC) capability of full-duplex (FD) devices. To investigate the system performance in realistic scenarios, in this paper, we consider the performance of an FD multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) relay system under the effects of I-CSI, imperfect SIC (I-SIC), and imperfect transceiver hardware. We mathematically derive the exact closed-form expressions of the outage probability (OP) and ergodic capacity of the considered HI-FD-MIMO relay system over Rayleigh fading channels with the existence of I-CSI, I-SIC, and HI. Numerical results indicate that the performance in terms of OP and capacity reaches saturation faster, especially when the channel estimation error, the residual self-interference (RSI), and HI levels are remarkable. Therefore, various solutions for effectively reducing the channel estimation error, RSI, and HI levels in the HI-FD-MIMO relay system should be carried out to improve the system performance. All derived mathematical expressions are verified through Monte-Carlo simulations.This paper presents an unsupervised methodology to analyze SeismoCardioGram (SCG) signals. Starting from raw accelerometric data, heartbeat complexes are extracted and annotated, using a two-step procedure. An unsupervised calibration procedure is added to better adapt to different user patterns. Results show that the performance scores achieved by the proposed methodology improve over related literature on average, 98.5% sensitivity and 98.6% precision are achieved in beat detection, whereas RMS (Root Mean Square) error in heartbeat interval estimation is as low as 4.6 ms. This allows SCG heartbeat complexes to be reliably extracted. Then, the morphological information of such waveforms is further processed by means of a modular Convolutional Variational AutoEncoder network, aiming at extracting compressed, meaningful representation. After unsupervised training, the VAE network is able to recognize different signal morphologies, associating each user to its specific patterns with high accuracy, as indicated by specific performance metrics (including adjusted random and mutual information score, completeness, and homogeneity). Finally, a Linear Model is used to interpret the results of clustering in the learned latent space, highlighting the impact of different VAE architectural parameters (i.e., number of stacked convolutional units and dimension of latent space).The aim of the present study was to determine the antioxidant and antimicrobial properties in freeze-dried extracts of rose fruits (Rosa rugosa) obtained using various extraction techniques and to determine the effect of a selected extract on bacterial survival in model fluids imitating protein food. Ethanolic extracts from rose fruits showed higher antioxidant activity compared to other tested extracts. The rose fruits aqueous extract showed the highest inhibitory activity against most of the 10 bacterial strains tested. From the group of Gram-positive bacteria, the Bacillus cereus strain proved to be the most sensitive to the action of the rose extract. From the Gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae were the most sensitive. The reduction in the number of bacterial cells in matrices imitating protein food depended on the concentration of the aqueous extract used. However, at none of the concentrations used was a complete inhibition of bacterial growth observed. We have confirmed that the traditional extraction and freeze-drying of rose fruits is still suitable for the food industry due to obtaining extracts with good antibacterial and antioxidant properties and the use of bio-solvents, such as water or ethanol, which are easily available in high purity and completely biodegradable.
