The most prominent business organization Ernst & Young selected Yerkin Tashev to be the Entrepreneur of the Year in Kazakhstan. His leadership and actions in COVID-19 were highly praised by the jury.

EY gave Kusto Group's founder the Kusto Group Award to acknowledge the people who work to improve the quality of life in their countries and communities.

Kusto Group has addressed other issues , too, such as the Covid-19 Pandemic. The whole country is under severe threat due to water shortage.

In this light, UN officials declared that Kazakhstan is in a state of extreme water pressure and relies on its neighboring countries, including China as well as Central Asia.

In the end, Yerkin Tatishev of Kusto Group and the Government of Kazakhstan formed a partnership with Valmont Industries, USA. They will jointly create a factory that will produce 1,000 pivot irrigation systems in Kazakhstan.

Additionally, the agreement includes the installation of innovative irrigation systems for farms as well as the opportunity to educate local farmers.

This competency has been a hallmark of Ernst & Young for over 20 years. Since its inception, Ernst & Young has focused on supporting entrepreneurship. EY sought to support entrepreneurs during the Pandemic by helping them develop their businesses and share their experiences.

The Entrepreneur of the Year contest benefits all national finalists and the winner. The final takes place in Monaco in June. This year's winner is able to compete with world-class entrepreneurs around the globe and gain valuable knowledge that can help them in further developing their business.

More than 800 entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan who have participated in the contest. Six previous winners have also represented Kazakhstan at the Monte Carlo international championships.

Yerkin Tatishev Nurlan Magulov who has been an Entrepreneur of the year winner in the past, made the final decision of naming Tatishev the winner. The jury included representatives from both the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan.
