Twenty studies including 10376 patients were included in the meta-analysis. The pooled sensitivity and specificity were 0.55 (95% confidence interval 0.53-0.57) and 0.74 (95% confidence interval 0.72-0.75) for prostate cancer antigen 3 and 0.88 (95% confidence interval 0.86-0.90) and 0.36 (95% confidence interval 0.34-0.38) for the Prostate Health Index. The area under the curve was 0.72 for prostate cancer antigen 3 and 0.76 for the Prostate Health Index. The combination of prostate cancer antigen 3 and the Prostate Health Index had a higher area under the curve (0.79) and diagnostic odds ratio (5.83) than the use of Prostate Health Index (area under the curve 0.75,on of overall and clinically significant prostate cancer at first biopsy. A combination of these two diagnostic tests may be more helpful than the use of either test alone in prostate cancer management.

This study aimed to assess anxiety, depression, and knowledge level in postpartum women during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This cross-sectional study was conducted on 212 postpartum women using a web-based online survey in Ankara, Turkey.

The prevalence of depression was 34.0%. The mean anxiety and COVID-19 knowledge scores were 42.69 ± 9.93 and 9.69 ± 1.94, respectively. There was a statistically significant difference between the anxiety scores and depression status (p < 0.001) of women. There were statistically significant differences between fear about being infected with COVID-19 for themselves(p = 0.01) and for babies (p = 0.01) and the postpartum depression (PPD).

Subxiphoid incisional hernias are one of the complications following a median sternotomy, a surgical procedure to provide access to the mediastinum. Incidence has been reported between 1% and 4%, although the true incidence is not well known due to its asymptomatic nature.

A comprehensive search was performed on multiple sites. Keywords included "incisional hernia OR Subxiphoid hernia" AND "Median sternotomy OR Cardiac Surgery OR Coronary artery bypass graft OR Transplant OR Valve replacement". Articles up to August 1, 2020, were included in this study.

Platelet transfusions remain a mainstay of treatment for many patients with thrombocytopenia, but can lead to alloantibodies to Human Leukocyte Antigens (anti-HLA) resulting in inadequate responses to subsequent platelet transfusions (refractoriness), as well as complicate transplantation. Despite substantial decreases in alloimmunization with the implementation of leukoreduction, a significant percentage of patients still become alloimmunized following platelet transfusions. It remains unclear why some patients make anti-HLA antibodies, but others do not make anti-HLA antibodies even with chronic transfusion. Antecedent pregnancy correlates with risk of alloimmunization due to platelet transfusion in humans - however, isolation of pregnancy as a single variable is not possible in human populations.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has called for a universal system of developmental screening and surveillance to enhance early detection and intervention for children. While the need and potential impact of universal screening is well documented, recent reports show that screening rates have not reached expected goals and gaps remain in terms of effective follow-up and referral to early intervention (EI) services. Few studies have explored parent and child experiences of developmental screening, which would aid researchers, practitioners and policymakers in improving early detection and referral to EI. The purpose of this qualitative study was to understand the experiences of caregivers and children who received developmental screening across different service sectors, including the type of screening received, location of screening, experiences during the screening process and the follow-up interventions received following screening.

Caregivers see the importance of developmental screening, caregivers and children respond well to screening delivered by various providers in multiple settings and caregivers find the information gleaned from screening events important in planning for their child's developmental trajectory. Recent studies show upregulation of innate immuno-regulatory microRNA-146a and -155 in oral fluids of patients with type 2 diabetes as well as of patients with periodontitis. The aim was to investigate whether upregulation of these microRNAs may relate to patient susceptibility to the infection via modulation of SARS-CoV-2 cellular entry factors expression.

This study aimed at describing the safety and efficacy of DOACs in patients after SOT. Patients after kidney and/or liver transplantation under maintenance immunosuppression treated with rivaroxaban (n = 26), apixaban (n = 20) and edoxaban (n = 1) were included. Clinical data were collected retrospectively and using a questionnaire. DOAC plasma levels and thrombin generation (TG) were measured in patients after SOT and compared with nontransplanted controls receiving DOACs. DOACs were administered for 84.6 patient-years. Mean immunosuppressive trough levels after DOAC initiation increased from baseline by 18.8 ± 29.6% compared to 3.0 ± 16.5% in matched controls (P = 0.004), without significant differences in dose adjustments. No transplant rejection or significant change in liver or renal function was observed. There was one major bleeding after the observation period but no thromboembolic complication. DOAC plasma levels reached the expected range in all patients. The intrinsic hemostatic activity in transplanted patients was higher compared to nontransplant controls. Treatment with DOACs after SOT is safe and effective. Immunosuppressive trough levels should be monitored after DOAC initiation, particularly in the early phase after SOT. However, in addition to these direct effects, we are now starting to recognize indirect cardiovascular effects of COVID-19 in the form of increased incidence of Takutsobo cardiomyopathy in patients without any evidence of coronavirus infection presumably due to the increased psychological stress of social isolation and societal turbulence. In this case series, we present two post-menopausal women, presenting with chest pain and acute coronary syndrome, who are finally diagnosed with stress cardiomyopathy, triggered by increased emotional stress-related to the pandemic.
