32; 95% CI 1.06, 1.64; adjusted OR 1.80; 95% CI 1.37, 2.36, respectively). Patients with UDM were more likely to be exposed to DM-related risk factors than those with and without DM. Public health interventions to prevent UDM development are necessary. To evaluate the diagnostic performance and reader agreement of a novel MRI image fusion method enabling the reconstruction of oblique images for the assessment of the tibiofibular syndesmosis. We evaluated 40 magnetic resonance imaging examinations of patients with ankle sprains (16 with ruptures and 24 without) for the presence of anteroinferior tibiofibular ligament rupture. For all patients, we performed a fusion of standard two-dimensional transversal and coronal 3 mm PDw TSE images into an oblique-fusion reconstruction (OFR) and compared these against conventionally scanned oblique sequence for the evaluation of the tibiofibular syndesmosis. To evaluate diagnostic performance, two expert readers independently read the OFR images twice. We analyzed sensitivity, specificity, negative and positive predictive values, accuracy, and agreement. Reader 1 misinterpreted one OFR as a false negative, demonstrating a sensitivity of 0.94 and specificity of 1.00, reader 2 demonstrated perfect accuracy. Intrareader agreement was almost perfect for reader 1 (α = 0.95) and was perfect for reader 2 (α = 1.00). Additionally, interreader agreement between all fusion sequence reads was almost perfect (α = 0.97). The proposed OFR enables reliable detection of anteroinferior tibiofibular ligament rupture with excellent inter- and intrareader agreement, making conventional scanning of oblique images redundant and supplies a method to retroactively create oblique images, e.g., from external examinations.Amphiphilic poly(dimethylsiloxane-ethylene-propylene oxide)-polyisocyanurate cross-linked block copolymers based on triblock copolymers of propylene and ethylene oxides with terminal potassium-alcoholate groups (PPEG), octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4) and 2,4-toluene diisocyanate (TDI) were synthesized and investigated. In the first stage of the polymerization process, a multiblock copolymer (MBC) was previously synthesized by polyaddition of D4 to PPEG. The usage of the amphiphilic branched silica derivatives associated with oligomeric medium (ASiP) leads to the structuring of block copolymers via the transetherification reaction of the terminal silanol groups of MBC with ASiP. The molar ratio of PPEG, D4, and TDI, where the polymer chains are packed in the "core-shell" supramolecular structure with microphase separation of the polyoxyethylene, polyoxypropylene and polydimethylsiloxane segments as the shell, was established. Polyisocyanurates build the "core" of the described macromolecular structure. The obtained polymers were studied as membrane materials for the separation of gas mixtures CO2/CH4 and CO2/N2. It was found that obtained polymers are promising as highly selective and productive membrane materials for the separation of gas mixtures containing CO2, CH4 and N2.Dietary fibers may have positive impact on health and wellbeing of pigs. The study examined physicochemical properties of two lignocelluloses (including and excluding bark), powdered cellulose, Aspergillus niger mycelium, lucerne chaff, soybean shells, wheat bran, and sugar beet pulp in relation to fermentability and digestibility using in vitro batch-culture incubation. Maize starch and a purified cellulose were used as standardized substrates for classification of the test substrates. The substrates covered a wide range regarding their physicochemical properties. Swelling capacity (SC) was 9-411%, water binding capacity (WBC) was 4.4-14.3 g/g dry matter (DM), and water holding capacity (WHC) was 4.1-10.6 g/g DM. Gas production and other fermentation parameters-namely post-incubation pH, CH4, NH3, and short chain fatty acids (SCFA) concentrations-revealed a significant fermentation of sugar beet pulp, soybean shells, lucerne chaff, wheat bran, A. niger mycelium, and powdered cellulose, whereas the lignocelluloses were not fermented. click here Significant correlations were found between the physicochemical properties and the fermentation parameters (p less then 0.05). Enzymatic pre-digestion mostly reduced gas, NH3, and SCFA production. In vitro digestibility of DM (IVDMD) and organic matter (IVOMD) was mostly negligible after enzymatic pre-digestion. Fermentation alone led to only 0.10-0.15 IVDMD and 0.14-0.15 IVOMD in lignocelluloses and powdered cellulose, respectively, but 0.44-0.37 IVDMD and 0.46-0.38 IVOMD in the remainder of substrates (p less then 0.05). In vitro digestibility was again correlated with the physicochemical properties of the substrates and the fermentation parameters (p less then 0.05). The fiber preparations and fiber-rich byproducts were fermented to a relevant extent. In contrast, lignocelluloses were not fermented and can be used rather as bulk material.Multiple myeloma (MM) is a genetically heterogeneous disease characterized by genomic chaos making it difficult to distinguish driver from passenger mutations. In this study, we integrated data from whole genome gene expression profiling (GEP) microarrays and CytoScan HD high-resolution genomic arrays to integrate GEP with copy number variations (CNV) to more precisely define molecular alterations in MM important for disease initiation, progression and poor clinical outcome. We utilized gene expression arrays from 351 MM samples and CytoScan HD arrays from 97 MM samples to identify eight CNV events that represent possible MM drivers. By integrating GEP and CNV data we divided the MM into eight unique subgroups and demonstrated that patients within one of the eight distinct subgroups exhibited common and unique protein network signatures that can be utilized to identify new therapeutic interventions based on pathway dysregulation. Data also point to the central role of 1q gains and the upregulated expression of ANP32E, DTL, IFI16, UBE2Q1, and UBE2T as potential drivers of MM aggressiveness. The data presented here utilized a novel approach to identify potential driver CNV events in MM, the creation of an improved definition of the molecular basis of MM and the identification of potential new points of therapeutic intervention. In this study, bulk samples of a CrMoNbWV high-entropy alloy (HEA) were obtained for the first time by spark plasma sintering (SPS) of mechanically alloyed (MA) powders at 1200 °C, 1300 °C, and 1400 °C. Microstructure evolution, phase formation as well as wear and corrosion behavior were investigated. The MA powders' phase composition was found to be represented by body-centered-cubic (BCC) solid solution. The solid solution partially decomposed to Laves phases under the sintering, such as Cr2Nb and (Fe, Cr)Nb, and NbVO4-VO oxides mixture. The temperature increase to 1400 °C led to a grain coarsening of the BCC phase and decreased the Laves phase content accompanied by precipitation at the grain boundaries. The sintered samples showed high hardness and compressive strength (2700-2800 MPa) at room temperature. The wear tests demonstrated excellent results in comparison to conventional wear-resistant composites. The obtained samples also exhibited high corrosion resistance under electrochemical tests in H2SO4 solution. The CrMoNbWV HEA has comparable mechanical and corrosive properties with the WNbMoTaV type HEA, but at the same time has a reduced density CrMoNbWV-10.55 g/cm3, WNbMoTaV-12.42 g/cm3.With the quick development of sensor technology in recent years, online detection of early fault without system halt has received much attention in the field of bearing prognostics and health management. While lacking representative samples of the online data, one can try to adapt the previously-learned detection rule to the online detection task instead of training a new rule merely using online data. As one may come across a change of the data distribution between offline and online working conditions, it is challenging to utilize the data from different working conditions to improve detection accuracy and robustness. To solve this problem, a new online detection method of bearing early fault is proposed in this paper based on deep transfer learning. The proposed method contains an offline stage and an online stage. In the offline stage, a new state assessment method is proposed to determine the period of the normal state and the degradation state for whole-life degradation sequences. Moreover, a new deep dual temporal domain adaptation (DTDA) model is proposed. By adopting a dual adaptation strategy on the time convolutional network and domain adversarial neural network, the DTDA model can effectively extract domain-invariant temporal feature representation. In the online stage, each sequentially-arrived data batch is directly fed into the trained DTDA model to recognize whether an early fault occurs. Furthermore, a health indicator of target bearing is also built based on the DTDA features to intuitively evaluate the detection results. Experiments are conducted on the IEEE Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) Challenge 2012 bearing dataset. The results show that, compared with nine state-of-the-art fault detection and diagnosis methods, the proposed method can get an earlier detection location and lower false alarm rate. The functions of heterogeneous metallic nanocrystals (HMNCs) can be undoubtedly tuned by controlling their morphologies and compositions. As a less-studied kind of HMNCs, corner-satellite multi-metallic nanocrystals (CSMNCs) have great research value in structure-related electrocatalytic performance. In this work, PdAgPt corner-satellite nanocrystals with well-controlled morphologies and compositions have been developed by temperature regulation of a seed-mediated growth process. Through the seed-mediated growth, the morphology of PdAgPt products evolves from Pd@Ag cubes to PdAgPt corner-satellite cubes, and eventually to truncated hollow octahedra, as a result of the expansion of 111 facets in AgPt satellites. The growth of AgPt satellites exclusively on the corners of central cubes is realized with the joint help of Ag shell and moderate bromide, and hollow structures form only at higher reaction temperatures on account of galvanic displacement promoted by the Pd core. In view of the different performances of Pd and Pt toward formic acid oxidation (FAO), this structure-sensitive reaction is chosen to measure electrocatalytic properties of PdAgPt HMNCs. It is proven that PdAgPt CSMNCs display greatly improved activity toward FAO in direct oxidation pathway. In addition, with the help of AgPt heterogeneous shells, all PdAgPt HMNCs exhibit better durability than Pd cubes and commercial Pt.Currently, next generation sequencing (NGS) is the mainly used approach for identification and monitorization of viruses with a potential public health threat in clinical and environmental samples. To facilitate detection in NGS, the sequence-independent, single-primer-amplification (SISPA) is an effective tool for enriching virus sequences. We performed a preliminary assessment of SISPA-nanopore sequencing as a potential approach for screening tick-borne viruses in six specimens with detectable Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV) and Jingmen tick virus (JMTV) sequences. A comparison of unbiased NGS and SISPA followed by nanopore sequencing was carried out in 4 specimens with single and pooled ticks. The approach was further used for genome sequencing in culture-grown viruses. Overall, total/virus-specific read counts were significantly elevated in cell culture supernatants in comparison to single or pooled ticks. Virus genomes could be successfully characterized by SISPA with identities over 99%. Genome coverage varied according to the segment and total read count.
