To investigate mortality in periviable neonates ≤23 weeks gestational age and calculate its impact on overall neonatal mortality rate over a 12-year period (1998-2009). Verify if periviable mortality decreased in the period (2010-2015). Retrospective review. Neonatal mortality rate per 1000 live births was 11.4. We propose a similar approach with medical ultrasonographic Doppler audio signals. Power Doppler periodograms were generated from 84 ultrasonographic Doppler signals from the common carotid arteries in 22 dogs. Frequency features were extracted from each periodogram and included in a principal component analysis (PCA). From this 10 audio samples were pairwise classified as being either similar or dissimilar. These pairings were compared to a similar classification based on standard quantitative parameters used in medical ultrasound and to classification performed by a panel of listeners. The ranking of sound files according to degree of similarity differed between the frequency and conventional classification methods. The panel of listeners had an 88% agreement with the classification based on quantitative frequency features. These findings were significantly different from the score expected by chance (p  less then  0.001). The results indicate that the proposed frequency based classification has a perceptual relevance for human listeners and that the method is feasible. In this study, we used liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry in data-independent acquisition (DIA) mode to identify Parkinson's-relevant biomarkers in cerebrospinal fluid. We quantified 341 protein groups in two independent cohorts (n = 196) and a longitudinal cohort (n = 105 samples, representing 40 patients) consisting of Parkinson's disease and healthy control samples from three different sources. We evaluated the association between WFS and asthma healthcare utilization (AHCU) during the 2013 wildfire season in Oregon. WFS particulate matter ≤ 2.5 μm in diameter (PM2.5) was estimated using a blended model of in situ monitoring, chemical transport models, and satellite-based data. Asthma claims and place of service were identified from Oregon All Payer All Claims data from 1 May 2013 to 30 September 2013. The association with WFS PM2.5 was evaluated using time-stratified case-crossover designs. The maximum WFS PM2.5 concentration during the study period was 172 µg/m3. However, so far, the extent of exposure of human spermatozoa to chemical UV filters via the presence of these chemicals in seminal fluid has been unknown. Here, we present levels of UV filters measured in human seminal fluid and comparisons to levels measured in concurrently collected urine and serum samples. In total nine UV filters were analysed by TurboFlow-LC-MS/MS in paired urine, serum, and seminal fluid samples from 300 young Danish men from the general population; each man collected one of each sample type within 1 h. The samples were collected during February-December 2013 and only six of the men reported having used sunscreen during the 48 h preceding the sample collection. Four of the examined UV filters could be detected in seminal fluid samples at levels above LOD in more than 10% of the samples. Benzophenone (BP), benzophenone-1 (BP-1), and benzophenone-3 (BP-3) were most frequently detected in, respectively, 18%, 19%, and 27% of the seminal fluid samples albeit at levels one to two orders of magnitude lower than the levels observed in urine.
