In production, due to natural conditions or process peculiarities, a single product often may exhibit more than one type of defect. The accurate identification of all defects has an important guiding significance and practical value to improve the planting and production processes. Concerning the surface defect classification task, convolutional neural networks can be implemented as a powerful instrument. However, a typical convolutional neural network tends to consider an image as an inseparable entity and a single instance when extracting features; moreover, it may overlook semantic correlations between different labels. To address these limitations, in the present paper, we proposed a feature-wise attention-based relation network (FAR-Net) for multilabel jujube defect classification. The network included four different modules designed for (1) image feature extraction, (2) label-wise feature aggregation, (3) feature activation and deactivation, and (4) correlation learning among labels. To evaluate the proposed method, a unique multilabel jujube defect dataset was constructed as a benchmark for the multilabel classification task of the jujube defect images. The results of experiments show that owing to the relation learning mechanism, the average precision of the three main composite defects in the dataset increases by 5.77%, 4.07%, and 3.50%, respectively, compared to the backbone of our network, namely Inception v3, which indicated that the proposed FAR-Net effectively facilitated the learning of correlation between labels and eventually, improved the multilabel classification accuracy.Sugar consumption is associated with a whole range of negative health effects and should be reduced and the natural sweetener xylitol might be helpful in achieving this goal. The present study was conducted as a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind, cross-over trial. Twelve healthy, lean volunteers received intragastric solutions with 7, 17 or 35 g xylitol or tap water on four separate days. We examined effects on gut hormones, glucose, insulin, glucagon, uric acid, lipid profile, as well as gastric emptying rates, appetite-related sensations and gastrointestinal symptoms. We found (i) a dose-dependent stimulation of cholecystokinin (CCK), active glucagon-like peptide-1 (aGLP-1), peptide tyrosine tyrosine (PYY)-release, and decelerated gastric emptying rates, (ii) a dose-dependent increase in blood glucose and insulin, (iii) no effect on motilin, glucagon, or glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide (GIP)-release, (iv) no effect on blood lipids, but a rise in uric acid, and (v) increased bowel sounds as only side effects. In conclusion, low doses of xylitol stimulate the secretion of gut hormones and induce a deceleration in gastric emptying rates. There is no effect on blood lipids and only little effect on plasma glucose and insulin. This combination of properties (low-glycemic sweetener which stimulates satiation hormone release) makes xylitol an attractive candidate for sugar replacement.We propose a low-asymmetry interface to improve the presence of non-head-mounted-display (non-HMD) users in shared virtual reality (VR) experiences with HMD users. The low-asymmetry interface ensures that the HMD and non-HMD users' perception of the VR environment is almost similar. That is, the point-of-view asymmetry and behavior asymmetry between HMD and non-HMD users are reduced. Our system comprises a portable mobile device as a visual display to provide a changing PoV for the non-HMD user and a walking simulator as an in-place walking detection sensor to enable the same level of realistic and unrestricted physical-walking-based locomotion for all users. Because this allows non-HMD users to experience the same level of visualization and free movement as HMD users, both of them can engage as the main actors in movement scenarios. Our user study revealed that the low-asymmetry interface enables non-HMD users to feel a presence similar to that of the HMD users when performing equivalent locomotion tasks in a virtual environment. Furthermore, our system can enable one HMD user and multiple non-HMD users to participate together in a virtual world; moreover, our experiments show that the non-HMD user satisfaction increases with the number of non-HMD participants owing to increased presence and enjoyment.In this study, liquid egg, albumen, and egg yolk were artificially inoculated with E. coli. Ultrasound equipment (20/40 kHz, 180/300 W; 30/45/60 min) with a circulation cooling system was used to lower the colony forming units (CFU) of E. coli samples. Although the measurement of zeta potential is well established, only little information is reported on key metrological principles such as validation and measurement uncertainties. This contribution presents the results of an in-house validation of the commonly used electrophoretic light scattering (ELS) and the relatively new particle tracking analysis (PTA) methods. The performance characteristics were assessed by analyzing silica and polystyrene reference materials. The ELS and PTA methods are robust and have particle mass working ranges of 0.003 mg/kg to 30 g/kg and 0.03 mg/kg to 1.5 mg/kg, respectively. Despite different measurement principles, both methods exhibit similar uncertainties for repeatability (2%), intermediate precision (3%) and trueness (4%).
