For example, heart function modified by these heavy metals are heart rate, contraction, excitability, and rhythm. Some cardiac molecular targets have been identified and characterized. The direct mechanisms of damage of these heavy metals on heart function are discussed. We conclude that exposome to these heavy metals, should be considered as a major relevant risk factor for cardiac diseases.Defect engineering has been proven to be an effective approach for electronic structure modulation and plays an important role in the photocatalytic performance of nanomaterials. In this study, a series of CuS nanosheet sulfur vacancies (VS) are constructed by a simple hydrothermal synthesis method. The CuS with the highest VS concentration exhibits strong antibacterial performance, achieving bactericidal rates of 99.9% against the Gram-positive Bacillus subtilis and Gram-negative Escherichia coli bacteria under 808 nm laser irradiation. Under illumination, the temperature of the catalyst increases from 23.5 °C to 53.3 °C, and with a high photothermal conversion efficiency of 41.8%. For E. coli and B. subtilis, the reactive oxygen species (ROS) production that is induced by the CuS group is 8.6 and 9.6 times greater, respectively, than that of the control group. The presence of VS facilitates the enhancement of the light absorption capacity and the separation efficiency of electron-hole pairs, thereby resulting in improved photocatalytic performance. The synergistic effect of photothermal therapy (PTT) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) is aimed at causing oxidative damage and leading to bacterial death. Our findings provide an effective antibacterial strategy and offer new horizons for the application of CuS catalysts with VS in the NIR region. Here, cobalt-doped copper bismuth oxide (Co-CuBi2O4) was synthesized via a facile hydrothermal method for photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) hydrogen production. The results disclosed that the 5% Co-doped CuBi2O4 has better PEC activity which is ∼3 fold higher than pristine CuBi2O4. The doping of cobalt in CuBi2O4 improves the interfacial charge transfer at an electrode/electrolyte interface and reduces the recombination rate of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. This higher performed 5% Co-doped CuBi2O4 photocathode further modified with TiO2-P25 to form a Co-CuBi2O4/TiO2 p-n heterojunction. This Co-CuBi2O4/TiO2 photocathode displayed a photocurrent density of 330 μA cm-2 at +0.5 V vs. RHE which was ∼2 fold higher than Co-CuBi2O4. Because this p-n junction affords inner electric field in the space charge region that helps for further minimization of electron-hole recombination, which facilitate efficient charge separation and transport thereby enhance the PEC water reduction.Various semiconductor powders (such as bismuth oxybromide/bismuth oxyiodide (BiOBr/BiOI) nanojunctions) can photodegrade wastewater efficiently, but their practical application is limited by poor recovery performance. To address the problem, we report the construction of BiOBr/BiOI nanojunctions on flexible carbon fiber cloth (CFC) substrate as an easily recycled photocatalyst by the dipping-solvothermal-dipping-solvothermal four-step method. Sodium dichloroacetate price CFC/BiOBr/BiOI is composed of CFC substate and two layers of nanosheets, while BiOBr nanosheets (thickness 10-30 nm, diameter 200-400 nm) were grown in the inner layer and BiOI nanosheets (thickness 50-80 nm, diameter300-600 nm) were grown in the outer layer. CFC/BiOBr/BiOI (4 × 4 cm2) can effectively photodegrade 97.7% acid orange 7 (AO7), 91.3% levofloxacin (LVFX) and 97.8% tetracycline (TC) within 120 min under the illumination of visible-light, better than CFC/BiOBr (73.2% AO7, 71.6% LVFX and 81.6% TC). Furthermore, superoxide radical (•O2-) and hydroxyl radical (•OH) are the main active substances during removing LVFX by CFC/BiOBr/BiOI. Besides, CFC/BiOBr/BiOI can efficiently reduce 93.5% chemical oxygen demand (COD) concentration of acrylic resin production wastewater (ARPW) under visible-light illumination for 3 h, better than CFC/BiOBr (36.6% COD). Therefore, CFC/BiOBr/BiOI has broad application prospects in purifying wastewater as a new type of easily recycled photocatalyst. The development of electronics proposes higher requirements for flexible, transparent, and conductive materials with high electromagnetic shielding performance in viewing windows. Flexible transparent films have been fabricated by collaborating one-dimensional silver nanowires (AgNWs) and novel two-dimensional Ti3C2Tx MXene sheets on PET films with an external polymeric coating consisting of poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and poly(styrene sulfonate) (PSS). Especially, the combination of different dimensional nanomaterials effectively establishes a conductive network that exhibits a synergistic effect on excellent electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding performance, which is superior to that of pure AgNW network or Ti3C2Tx network to some extent. By optimizing the AgNWs content (0.05 mg/cm2) and Ti3C2Tx sheets content (0.01 mg/cm2), the PET/AgNW/Ti3C2Tx/PVA-PSS film exhibits a transmittance of 81% and a desirable EMI SE value of 30.5 dB. In addition, the film shows outstanding anti-fogging and frost-resistant properties due to the remarkable water absorption capacity of PVA and PSS on the external surface. Considering its efficiency and simplicity, this transparent conductive film has promising applications in flexible transparent electronic devices and optical related fields.Silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) have attracted extensive research interest in bioimaging and biosensing due to their unique surface plasmon resonance. However, the potential aggregation and security anxiety of Ag NPs hinder their further application in biomedical field due to their high surface energy and the possible ionization. Here, binary heterogeneous nanocomplexes constructed from silver nanoparticles and carbon nanomaterials (termed as C-Ag NPs) were reported. The C-Ag NPs with multiple yolk structure were synthesized via a one-step solvothermal route using toluene as carbon precursor and dispersant. The hydrophilic functional groups on the carbon layer endowed the C-Ag NPs excellent chemical stability and water-dispersity. Results showed that C-Ag NPs demonstrated excellent safety profile and excellent biocompatibility, which could be used as an intracellular imaging agent. Moreover, the C-Ag NPs responded specifically to hydroxyl radicals and were expected to serve as a flexible sensor to efficiently detect diseases related to the expression of hydroxyl radicals in the future.Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) are a tailorable class of solvents that are rapidly gaining scientific and industrial interest. This is because they are distinct from conventional molecular solvents, inherently tuneable via careful selection of constituents, and possess many attractive properties for applications, including catalysis, chemical extraction, reaction media, novel lubricants, materials chemistry, and electrochemistry. DESs are a class of solvents composed solely of hydrogen bond donors and acceptors with a melting point lower than the individual components and are often fluidic at room temperature. A unique feature of DESs is that they possess distinct bulk liquid and interfacial nanostructure, which results from intra- and inter-molecular interactions, including coulomb forces, hydrogen bonding, van der Waals interactions, electrostatics, dispersion forces, and apolar-polar segregation. This nanostructure manifests as preferential spatial arrangements of the different species, and exists over sevek for systematic investigation moving forward.Rocking-chair capacitive deionization (RCDI), as the next generation technique of capacitive deionization, has thrived to be one of the most promising strategies in the desalination community, yet was hindered mostly by its relatively low desalination rate and stability. Motivated by the goal of simultaneously enhancing the desalination rate and structural stability of the electrode, this paper reports an anion-driven flow-through RCDI (AFT-RCDI) system equipped with BiOCl nanostructure coated carbon sponge (CS@BiOCl for short; its backbone is derived from commercially available melamine foam with minimum capital cost) as the flow-through electrode. Owning to the rational design of the composite electrode material with minimum charge transfer resistance and ultrahigh structure stability as well as the superior flow-through cell architecture, the AFT-RCDI displays excellent desalination performance (desalination capacity up to 107.33 mg g-1; desalination rate up to 0.53 mg g-1s-1) with superior long-term stability (91.75% desalination capacity remained after 30 cycles). This work provides a new thought of coupling anion capturing electrode with flow-through cell architecture and employing a low-cost CS@BiOCl electrode with commercially available backbone material, which could shed light on the further development of low-cost electrochemical desalination systems.Selenium sulfide as a new alternative cathode material can effectively address the inferior electronic conductivity of sulfur, which is the main cause for poor electrochemical reactivity of conventional lithium-sulfur batteries (Li-S batteries). Therefore, in this work, hollow carbon spheres loaded with NiSe2 nanoplates were prepared as SeS2 hosts for Li-SeS2 batteries. The unique micro-mesoporous hollow carbon spheres not only provide channels for the diffusion of SeS2, but also afford spaces for alleviating the volume expansion of the active substance. Besides, the external polar NiSe2 nanoplates increase active sites for capturing polysulfides or polyselenides during the charge/discharge process. Meanwhile, the excellent electronic conductivity of NiSe2 can accelerate the catalytic reaction on the surface, thus reducing the loss of soluble intermediate products and finally suppressing the "shuttle effect". These extraordinary features of the as-proposed cathode offer many superiorities in electrochemical performances in terms of a high initial discharge capacity of 1139 mA h g-1 at a current rate of 0.1C and an excellent cycling life of up to 1000 cycles at 1C.Photocatalytic conversion of CO2 and H2O into CH4 is an intriguing approach to achieve solar energy utilization and CO2 conversion, yet remains challenging in conversion efficiency. In this study, we present a synthesis of defected TiO2 nanocrystal with oxygen vacancies (Vo) by a facile Ru doping-induced strategy under hydrothermal condition. The synergistic effect of Ru and oxygen vacancies contributed to the enhanced photocatalytic reduction of CO2 toward CH4. Oxygen vacancies and doped Ru not only can synergistically promote the separation of photogenerated carriers, but also promote the CO2 adsorption, thus enhancing the photocatalytic activities. The optimal Ru-doped TiO2 (denoted as 1% Ru-TiO2-x) exhibited a remarkable enhanced photocatalytic performance with a CH4 yield of 31.63 μmol·g-1·h-1, which is significantly higher than Ru-TiO2 and TiO2-x counterparts. This study systematically investigates the multiple roles of Ru in CO2 reduction and provides new insights for the construction of metal oxide photocatalysts with oxygen vacancies by simple doping of metal ions.
