Growth in minimal media containing wheat straw lignocellulose led to the production of 2,4-PDCA in 330 mg/L titre in 40 h, with > tenfold enhanced productivity, compared with plasmid-based expression of ligAB genes in wild-type R. jostii RHA1. Production of 2,4-PDCA was also observed using several different polymeric lignins as carbon sources, and a titre of 240 mg/L was observed using a commercially available soda lignin as feedstock.
The prolapse of a ruptured and extruded bladder after vaginal hysterectomy is rare in clinical practice. We report the case of a significant mass that prolapsed from the vagina after a vaginal hysterectomy in a multiparous postmenopausal woman.
A 67-year old multiparous postmenopausal Chinese woman was found to have a significant mass extruding from the vagina after a vaginal hysterectomy. The mass was a ruptured and everted bladder, and the diagnosis was confirmed after physical and imaging examinations and urethral catheterization. The patient underwent an emergency operation for mass reduction, bladder repair, and partial colpocleisis under general anesthesia. She recovered without prolapse or urinary drainage complications after 35months of follow-up.
The present case serves as a guide for the management of patients with pelvic organ prolapse. The condition of patients should be carefully evaluated before surgery, and individualized operation should be performed. Careful postoperative follow-up is crucial for the timely exclusion of complications, especially in elderly patients with persistently increased abdominal pressure.

Throughout the years, oral healthcare utilisation in Malaysia has been low despite various efforts by the Ministry of Health Malaysia for improvement. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of oral healthcare utilisation and identify factors associated with oral healthcare utilisation among adults in Malaysia.
Secondary data analysis of adults aged 18years and over from the National Health and Morbidity Survey 2019 was conducted in this study. Characteristics of respondents and those who utilised oral healthcare were described using complex sample descriptive statistics. Logistic regression analysis was performed toexamine the association between the dependent and independent variables. Dependent variable was oral healthcare utilisation in the last 12months. Independent variables were demographic and socioeconomic factors (predisposing, enabling and need characteristics) based on Andersen's Behavioural Model.
A total of 11,308 respondents, estimated to represent 21.7 million adults aged 18years anre utilisation. Demographic and socioeconomic factors are strong determinants of oral healthcare utilisation in Malaysia. Appropriate interventions to strengthen the existing programmes aimed to promote regular and timely oral health check-ups are needed to improve oral healthcare utilisation.

In south China, goats are the major source of Brucellosis for human infection. However, there are few studies on the prevalence of and risk factors for goat brucellosis in south China. In this study, we conducted a cross-sectional study to investigate the herd prevalence, spatial distribution and relevant risk factors for goat brucellosis in Ningxiang county, south China. Commercial goat farms (n = 457) were randomly selected, and their disease status was ascertained by testing serum samples of chosen individuals using the Rose Bengal Test (screening test) and the Serum Agglutination Test (confirmatory test) in series. A farm with at least two positive individuals was defined as a case farm. Standardized questionnaires were used to collect information on management and hygiene practices in farms. A logistic model with a binomial outcome was built to identify risk factors for being seropositive.
The true herd prevalence in commercial goat farms was 4.5% (95%CI 0.2%-12.2%) and the townships in the centre of the county had higher herd prevalence. Selleck Milciclib The risk factors associated with seropositive on local goat farms include "Introduction in the past 12 months" (OR= 61, 95%CI 16-333), "Improperly disposal of the sick or dead goats" (OR= 33, 95%CI 5-341) and "Poor hygiene in lambing pen" (OR= 25, 95%CI 5-192).
These findings will aid in the development of control strategies of Brucellosis in south China and risk factors identified in this study should be taken into consideration when designing a control strategy.

Adhesive restorations allow a conservative approach to caries management and are increasingly used as a restorative option in pediatric dentistry. Placement can be difficult in children because of the cooperation required for multiple bonding steps. Due to this, it is vital to assess if novel, simpler strategies have been featured in clinical trials and if clinical trials are researching the different existing adhesive strategies.
This review followed Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis adapted for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) guidelines. PubMed/Medline, Cochrane Central, Scopus and EMBASE were used for systematic search, using free keywords and controlled search terms. Clinical trials of children requiring a restorative intervention which featured adhesive strategies were included. Only peer-reviewed trials of primary teeth restored with resin composites, published in the last 10-year period were eligible. Data charting was accomplished independently by two reviewers, and studies were summarized according to their date, type, intervention, sample size, observation period, outcomes and conclusions.
