The study evaluated the impact of peer support group on Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL), depressive symptomatology and coping strategies among women with PCOS. The pre- and post-test experimental design was used. Women with PCOS not receiving psychiatric medication and attending clinics of a teaching hospital in Colombo were recruited. They were randomly allocated based on clinic days to the experimental (n = 20) and control (n = 22) groups. The Intervention group participated in the specific peer support program for 10 weeks, while the control group received general health reading material for 10 weeks through the post. The Modified Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Questionnaire (M-PCOSQ), Centre for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) and Brief COPE inventory were administered to both groups before and 1 month after completing the intervention. Before the intervention, there was no significant difference between the two groups regarding the scores of HRQoL, depressive symptomatology and coping skills. One month after the intervention, the support group exhibited improvement in HRQoL, depressive symptomatology and coping skills (p less then 0.01) compared to the control group. Herein we report a 5-month-old child with a large APW in whom a preoperative computed tomography angiogram facilitated the diagnosis of ALCAPA. Liberibacter crescens strain BT-1 is a surrogate for functional genomic studies of the uncultured pathogenic 'Candidatus Liberibacter' spp. that are associated with severe diseases such as citrus greening and potato zebra chip. Structural determination of L. crescens LPS revealed the presence of a very long chain fatty acid (VLCFA) modification. L. crescens LPS pretreatment suppressed growth of Xanthomonas perforans on non-host tobacco (Nicotiana benthamiana) and X. citri subsp. citri on host citrus (Citrus sinensis, confirming bioactivity of L. crescens LPS in activation of systemic acquired resistance (SAR). L. crescens LPS elicited a rapid burst of nitric oxide (NO) in suspension cultured tobacco cells. Pharmacological inhibitor assays confirmed that arginine-utilizing NO synthase (NOS) activity was the primary source of NO generation elicited by L. crescens LPS. LPS treatment also resulted in biological markers of NO-mediated SAR activation, including an increase in the glutathione (GSH) pool, callose deposition and activation of the salicylic acid (SA) and azelaic acid (AzA) signaling networks. Will there be an explosion of clinical applications that benefit many patients with different diseases, or will success be restricted to diseases that are ideal for the application of current technologies? The aim of this perspective is to describe a selection of the major goals for the next decade.

To investigate improvement in balance abilities compared between walking meditation and balance training among older adults with history of fall.

Walking meditation or mindfulness meditation whilst standing and moving (

 = 35) or balance training (

 = 33) 20-30 min/day, 5-7 days/week for 24 weeks was performed at home.

The primary outcomes were dynamic balance abilities as assessed by Timed Up and Go test (TUGT), and static balance as assessed by Functional Reach Test (FRT) and Single Leg Stance Test (SLST). The secondary outcomes were quality of life as measured by the EuroQOL 5-dimensions 5-levels (EQ-5D-5L), and mental health as evaluated by the Thai Geriatric Mental Health Assessment Tool-15 (TGMHA-15). All outcomes were assessed at baseline, 6 months, and 9 months. Self-reported compliance, adverse events, and patient satisfaction were recorded at 6 and 9 months.

The mean age was 69 years (range 60-85). No significant difference was observed between groups for the 3 primary outcome measures. The mean difference (95% confidence interval) between groups was -0.48 (-1.40, 0.44) for TUGT, -1.11 (-3.66, 1.45) for FRT, and 0.82 (-5.03, 6.67) for SLST. The EQ-5D-5L and TGMHA-15 also showed no significant difference between groups. Most participants were in good compliance with the exercise protocol (48.3-68.0%), and no serious adverse events were reported.

Our results showed walking meditation to be comparable to balance training for improving balance abilities in older adults with history of fall. Pirinixic Walking meditation may be considered an alternative treatment for improving balance abilities in this patient population.

Disease survey was conducted in several peanut fields. Less than 5% plants exhibited various symptoms, including brown or black stem rot, pod rot, leaf chlorotic, wilted, and even dead. Symptomatic stems were cut into small pieces, surface disinfested with 70% ethanol for 1 min, 1% NaClO for 2 minutes, rinsed three times with sterile water, and dried on sterile filter papers. Pieces then were plated on potato dextrose agar (PDA) media and incubated at 25°C in darkness. Fungal cultures were initially white, then turned gray, and eventually turned black, and aerial hyphae were dense, fluffy. Conidia were ellipsoidal, initially hyaline, unicellular, 14.3 to 21.1 × 8.7 to 13.2 µm (n = 50), and mature conidia showed dark brown, with a central septum, and longitudinal stripes. Plants of C. intybus displaying symptoms (viz. chlorotic and necrotic ringspots, mosaic, and leaf deformation) similar to that induced by orthotospoviruses (genus Orthotospovirus, family Tospoviridae) were observed in three fields (≈ 0.2 ha each) in Gama County, in the Federal District, Brazil, from September 2016 to January 2020 in plants of the cultivars 'Folha-Larga' and 'Spadona' (Fig. 1). Incidence of symptomatic plants was nearly 10% in each field. Transmission electron microscopic examination of thin sections from symptomatic leaf samples showed typical membrane-bounded orthotospovirus particles within cisternae of spongy parenchymal cells (Fig 2). Two individual leaf samples per field were collected and submitted to dot enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay with polyclonal antisera against N protein of tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV), groundnut ringspot virus (GRSV) and tomato chlorotic spot virus (Tn of C. intybus by a not fully characterized orthotospovirus (mostly likely TSWV) has been observed since 1938 in Brazil (Kitajima, 2020). Our report of GRSV infecting C. intybus is thus confirming previous speculations that similar symptoms in this vegetable crop were induced by orthotospovirus infection in Brazil.
