Considering the possible impact of exonic SNPs on the phenotypes, TEP1 (rs938886), TEP1 (rs1713449), and RECQL5 (rs820196) were analyzed. The haplotype analysis suggested that the haplotypes CTT [odds ratio (OR) = 2.018, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.012-4.025,

= 0.0430] and GCC (OR = 2.293, 95%CI 1.174-4.477,

= 0.0131) of TEP1 (rs938886), TEP1 (rs1713449), and RECQL5 (rs820196) increased the risk of a drop in heart rate > 30%.

The TEP1 (rs938886), TEP1 (rs1713449), and RECQL5 (rs820196) SNPs were associated with changes in heart rate ≥ 30% during intraperitoneal lavage using distilled water after gastrectomy for gastric cancer.

Previous studies using voxel-based morphometry (VBM) revealed changes in gray matter volume (GMV) of patients with depression, but the differences between patients with bipolar disorder (BD) and unipolar depression (UD) are less known.

To analyze the whole-brain GMV data of patients with untreated UD and BD compared with healthy controls.

Fourteen patients with BD and 20 with UD were recruited from the Mental Health Center of Shantou University between August 2014 and July 2015, and 20 non-depressive controls were recruited. After routine three-plane positioning, axial T2WI scanning was performed. The connecting line between the anterior and posterior commissures was used as the scanning baseline. The scanning range extended from the cranial apex to the foramen magnum. Categorical data are presented as frequencies and were analyzed using the Fisher exact test.

There were no significant intergroup differences in gender, age, or years of education. mTOR inhibitor Disease course, age at the first episode, and Hamilton of changes in GMV when compared with healthy controls.

The ideal depth of general anesthesia should achieve the required levels of hypnosis, analgesia, and muscle relaxation while minimizing physiologic responses to awareness. The choice of anesthetic strategy in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) undergoing major noncardiac surgery is becoming an increasingly important issue as the population ages. This is because general anesthesia is associated with a risk of perioperative cardiac complications and death, and this risk is much higher in people with CHD.

To compare hemodynamic function and cardiovascular event rate between etomidate- and propofol-based anesthesia in patients with CHD.

This prospective study enrolled consecutive patients (American Society of Anesthesiologists grade II/III) with stable CHD (New York Heart Association class I/II) undergoing major noncardiac surgery. The patients were randomly allocated to receive either etomidate/remifentanil-based or propofol/remifentanil-based general anesthesia. Randomization was performed using and smaller hemodynamic changes than propofol-based anesthesia.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a sudden or rapid decline in the filtration function of the kidneys which is marked by increased serum creatinine or blood urea nitrogen.

To examine the value of alprostadil-assisted continuous venous-venous hemofiltration (CVVH) in the treatment of severe AKI in severely ill patients.

This was a retrospective study and the inclusion criteria were as follows (1) Age of patients (≥ 18 years); (2) Admission to intensive care unit due to non-renal primary disease, APACHE II score (≥ 18 points); (3) The diagnostic criteria of AKI guidelines were formulated with reference to the Global Organization for the Improvement of Prognosis in Kidney Diseases, with AKI grades of II-III; (4) All patients were treated with CVVH; and (5) Complete basic data were obtained for all patients.

The clinical effect of alprostadil administered in the treatment group was better than that observed in the control group (

< 0.05). The urine output of patients in the alprostadil group returned to normal time (9.1 ± 2.0 d) and was lower than that in the control group (10.6 ± 2.5 d), the difference was statistically significant (

< 0.05); adverse reactions occurred in the alprostadil group compared with the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant (

> 0.05).

Alprostadil-assisted CVVH in the treatment of severely ill patients with AKI can effectively improve the renal resistance index and partial pressure of urine oxygen, and has a positive effect on improving renal function.

With the aging world population, the incidence of falls has intensified and fall-related hospitalization costs are increasing. Falls are one type of event studied in the health economics of patient safety, and many developed countries have conducted such research on fall-related hospitalization costs. However, China, a developing country, still lacks large-scale studies in this area.

To investigate the factors related to the hospitalization costs of fall-related injuries in elderly inpatients and establish factor-based, cost-related groupings.

A retrospective study was conducted. Patient information and cost data for elderly inpatients (age ≥ 60 years,

= 3362) who were hospitalized between 2016 and 2019 due to falls was collected from the medical record systems of two grade-A tertiary hospitals in China. Quantile regression (QR) analysis was used to identify the factors related to fall-related hospitalization costs. A decision tree model based on the chi-squared automatic interaction detector algoritng model of hospitalization costs clearly reflected the key factors affecting hospitalization costs and can be used to strengthen the reasonable control of these costs.

Our grouping model of hospitalization costs clearly reflected the key factors affecting hospitalization costs and can be used to strengthen the reasonable control of these costs.
