Several studies have evaluated the impact of climate change on the alluvial aquifers; however, no research has been carried out on a small-scale aquifer without any human influences and pumping wells. The object of this study is to assess the response of such an aquifer to the climate change to observe if it can preserve its storage or not. Pali aquifer, southwest Iran, is solely discharged by Taraz-Harkesh stream and geological formations. On the other hand, it is recharged by precipitation and geological formations. The Taraz-Harkesh stream's discharge rates and the Pali aquifer's groundwater level were simulated by IHACRES and MODFLOW, respectively, in the base (1961-1990) and future (2021-2050) time periods under two Representative Concentration Pathways, i.e., RCP4.5 and RCP8.5. The outputs of IHACRES were regarded as the input of MODFLOW. The groundwater model was calibrated in the steady-state for the hydrological year 2007 and in the unsteady-state for the time period 2008-2014 with annual time steps. Further, the groundwater model was verified for the time period 2015-2018. The statistical criteria maintained the groundwater model's ability, consequently measuring the root mean square error to be 0.69, 0.85, and 1.18 m for the steady calibration, unsteady calibration and verification of the groundwater model, respectively. Results indicate that the stream's discharge rates would decrease in the future time period, especially under RCP8.5. Nevertheless, the groundwater level would not fluctuate considerably. Indeed, the groundwater resources, even a semi-arid, small-scaled aquifer, may be considered as the water supplying systems under the future climate change. The work reported here investigated the γδ T cell-specific cell surface receptor known as workshop cluster 1 (WC1) in the extinct Auroch and compared the gene sequences to those in modern cattle breeds. These molecules function as hybrid pattern recognition receptors (PRR), binders of microbial pathogens, and as signaling co-receptors of the T cell antigen receptor (TCR), directing the immune responses by γδ T cell subsets. SL-327 Sequences in the Auroch genome included both WC1.1 and WC1.2-like a-patterned scavenger receptor cytsteine-rich (SRCR) domains as well as the more conserved b, c, d, and e-patterned SRCR domains. While there was much sequence homology with bovine WC1 genes, there are also unique Auroch genes based on the signature a1 SRCR domain sequences that are used to identify individual WC1 genes. There was also conservation of genes coding for Type I and II intracytoplasmic endodomains although no evidence for gene sequences for Type III endodomains or the extracellular 6 SRCR domains that are associated with this endodomain. This particular WC1 molecule has been proposed to represent the most ancient WC1, and thus, it is particularly interesting that it is apparently missing in the Auroch genome although it could be due to incomplete sequencing. Overall, the results suggest that while WC1 genes have been preserved from Ancient Auroch to modern cattle, they may have co-evolved perhaps as a result of differing pathogen or environmental antigen exposure.

Metastasis-associated in colon cancer 1 (MACC1) and Spondin2 (SPON2) are newly discovered oncogenes, but little is known about their role in colorectal cancer(CRC) liver metastases. PET has become an important molecular imaging technology due to its high sensitivity and quantifiability. In particular, its targeted, specific molecular probes can detect biological behaviors. This study was designed to evaluate the different biological properties of

F-FDG,

F-FLT, and

F-FMISO PET. The value of the CRC liver metastasis model explores the correlation and potential mechanisms of three tracers uptakes with tumor-related biological characteristics.

Human CRC cell lines(LoVo and HCT8), were cultured for in vitro radionuclide uptake experiments to compare the molecular imaging features of colorectal cancer cells with different metastatic potentials. Two kinds of cells were injected into the spleen of nude mice to establish a liver metastasis model. After the tumor formation, three kinds of tracer PET images weepatic metastases (r = 0.737, P = 0.0026; r = 0.842, P = 0.0002). The

F-FMISO SUVmax ratio was only significantly correlated with the expression of MACC1 in hepatic metastasis (r = 0.770, P = 0.0013).

Early screening with

F-FLT and

F-FMISO tracers has important clinical value for the efficient diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer liver metastases.

To assess the value of diffusion-weighted MRI (DW-MRI) in the non-invasive prediction of blastemal remnant after neoadjuvant chemotherapy in nephroblastoma.

This IRB-approved study included 32 pediatric patients with 35 tumors who underwent DW-MRI prior and after completion of neoadjuvant chemotherapy and subsequent surgical resection. Two blinded radiologists volumetrically assessed each tumor on pre- and post-neoadjuvant images and the parameters mean ADC, median ADC, 12.5th/25th/75th ADC percentile, skewness, and kurtosis were calculated. Blastemal remnant was determined per the pathology report. Associations between imaging features and blastemal remnant quartiles were examined using the Kruskal-Wallis test and adjusted for false discovery rate.

Inter-reader agreement was high for mean ADC, skewness, kurtosis, and volume (ICC 0.76-0.998). Pre-therapeutic histogram parameters skewness and kurtosis were found to be higher in patients with a higher amount of blastemal remnant for reader 1 (overall p = 0.035) and for kurtosis in reader 2 (overall p = 0.032) with skewness not reaching the level of statistical significance (overall p = 0.055). Higher tumor volume on pre-treatment imaging was associated with a higher amount of blastemal remnant after therapy (overall p = 0.032 for both readers).

Pre-treatment skewness and kurtosis of ADC histogram analysis were significantly associated with a larger fraction of a blastemal remnant after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. These findings could be incorporated into a more personalized chemotherapeutic regime in these patients and offer prognostic information at the time of initial diagnosis.
