Our previous studies have shown that the Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADSCs) can regulate metastasis and development of ovarian cancer. However, its specific mechanism has yet to be fully revealed. In this study, an RNA-seq approach was adopted to compare the differences in mRNA levels in ovarian cancer cells being given or not given ADSCs. The mRNA level of paired box 8 (PAX8) changed significantly and was confirmed as an important factor in tumour-inducing effect of ADSCs. In comparison with the ovarian cancer cells cultured in the common growth medium, those cultured in the medium supplemented with ADSCs showed a significant increase of the PAX8 level. Moreover, the cancer cell growth could be restricted, even in the ADSC-treated group (P less then .05), by inhibiting PAX8. In addition, an overexpression of PAX8 could elevate the proliferation of ovarian cancer cells. Moreover, Co-IP assays in ovarian cancer cells revealed that an interaction existed between endogenous PAX8 and TAZ. IU1 concentration And the PAX8 levels regulated the degradation of TAZ. The bioluminescence images captured in vivo manifested that the proliferation and the PAX8 expression level in ovarian cancers increased in the ADMSC-treated group, and the effect of ADSCs in promoting tumours was weakened through inhibiting PAX8. Our findings indicate that the PAX8 expression increment could contribute a role in promoting the ADSC-induced ovarian cancer cell proliferation through TAZ stability regulation. The electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction (ENRR) under ambient conditions is considered as a promising process to produce ammonia. Towards highly efficient catalysts, here an optimized one-step pyrolysis strategy was tailored to design yolk-shell microcages (YS Co@C/BLCNTs), consisting of Co nanocrystals encapsulated in N-doped carbon framework and bridged by bamboo-like carbon nanotubes (BLCNTs). The cavity created between yolk and shell not only served as a "micro-bag" to store the reactant N2 and enhance its dissolution, but also induced a "cage effect" to confine the diffusion of reaction intermediate, hence making the reaction proceed in the direction of producing NH3 . This catalyst displayed excellent catalytic activities for ENRR a high NH3 yield of 12.87 μg mgcat -1  h-1 at a high faradaic efficiency of 20.7 % at -0.45 V (vs. reversible hydrogen electrode, RHE). After 5 cycles of consecutive ENRR process, the NH3 yield rate was 11.29 μg mgcat -1  h-1 , indicating the excellent electrocatalytic stability. These results provide a structural engineering for ENRR catalyst with doped N, cooperating with non-precious metal to activate the inert triple bond of N2 and achieve NH3 fixation.

Treatment options for malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) are limited. Anthracyclines are considered key drugs for treating MPM. However, their use is limited by severe cardiac toxicities. Amrubicin (AMR) is a next-generation anthracycline that is commonly used to treat lung cancer. Here, we conducted a phase II trial of this drug in patients with previously treated MPM.

Eligible patients with MPM having adequate organ function and a performance status of 0-2 were enrolled after disease progression following pemetrexed/platinum therapy. Patients received 35 mg/m

AMR on days 1-3 every threeweeks until tumor progression or the appearance of unacceptable toxicities. The primary endpoint was the objective response rate. Median progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), number of treatment cycles, and adverse events were evaluated as secondary endpoints.

This trial was discontinued because of low accrual. From September 2013 to July 2018, five patients with MPM were enrolled. Stable disease (SD) was observed in three patients (60%), and progressive disease was noted in two patients (40%). The median PFS was 2.4 (range, 1.2-11.2) months, and the median OS was 9.1 (range, 6.2-22.0) months. The median number of treatment cycles was three (range, 2-11). Grade 1/2 toxicities were observed in all patients. Grade 3/4 neutropenia was observed in four patients (80%), but there were no cases of febrile neutropenia.

Despite the absence of the responders, the observation of SD in three patients suggests that AMR could have potential for treating MPM.

Colombia's climatological variety, added to pathogen diversity, creates local niches for infectious diseases. In Bogotá, respiratory syncytial virus causes 30%-52% of the cases of respiratory infections. In coastal or inter-Andean cities with higher temperature and longer dry seasons, frequency of this virus is 7%-13%. By 2017, increased hospitalizations due to airway infections occurred in regions whose weather is differently influenced by "El Niño Southern Oscillation" than in Bogotá, although microbial diversity might have also been involved.

For Cali, an inter-Andean city with warm tropical weather, records of respiratory syncytial virus from 2014 to 2018, in children two years old or younger, were analyzed, and genotypes transmitted during 2016-2017 were identified based on partial sequences of glycoprotein G.

Most cases of respiratory syncytial virus in Cali occur in the first semesters, with peaks expressed around March-April, without a clear association with pluviosity. Unlike the biannual rotating pattern of Bogotá, co-circulation of types A and B was detected. As years pass, transmission seasons are becoming longer and frequencies of the virus augment. The viral genotypes identified follow international trends with dominance of Ontario and Buenos Aires clades. Similar to other isolates in these clades, viruses from Cali exhibit glycosylation variability that may account for their fitness.

The pattern of respiratory syncytial virus transmission in Cali differs from that in Bogotá. Its epidemiology is shifting and will remain so with the advent of novel respiratory diseases. This may impact the introduction of vaccination schemes for these or other respiratory viruses.
