Methods Dose-response of TLD-100 (LiF Mg, Ti) was investigated in both 6-MV photon and 6-MeV electron beams. The element correction factor (ECF) generation method was applied to check the variability of the TLDs response. Two batches of 50 TLDs were divided into groups and exposed in the dose range 0 to 30 Gy. Regression analysis was performed with both linear and quadratic models. For each irradiation beam, the calibration curves were obtained in 3 dose range 0 to 8 Gy, 0 to 10 Gy, and 0 to 30 Gy. The best-fitting model was assessed by the Akaike Information Criterion test. Results The ECF process resulted a useful tool to reduce the coefficients of variation from original values higher than 5% to about 3.5%, for all the batches exposed. The results confirm the linearity of dose-response curve below the dose level of 10 Gy for photon and electron beam and the supralinear trend above. Conclusion The TLDs are suitable dosimeters for dose monitoring and verification in radiation treatment involving dose up to 30 Gy in a single fraction. © The Author(s) 2020.[This corrects the article DOI 10.1186/s12014-020-9265-x.]. © The Author(s) 2020.Introduction. The Functional Mobility Assessment (FMA) measures satisfaction with mobility devices in daily life. However, in Brazil, there is a lack of instruments which measure functional mobility. Objective We aim to report the cross-cultural adaptation process and face validity of the FMA for use in Brazil. Methods Two international guidelines were used in the cross-cultural adaptation process. Two independent translators translated the instrument from English to Brazilian Portuguese, and the two versions were reconciled. Two different translators back translated this reconciled version, and an expert committee analysed the resulting synthesis. For face validity, the FMA was applied with 24 participants, divided into two groups, users with disabilities (n = 12) and occupational therapy students (n = 12) and occupational therapy students (. Results The cross-cultural adaptation of the FMA was concluded, and its face validity presented that both groups understood most or completely all instrument items. Conclusion The Brazilian version of FMA is now available in Brazilian Portuguese and has face validation. Further studies should test its psychometric properties. Copyright © 2020 Debora C. Paulisso et al.Bowel preparation traditionally refers to the removal of bowel contents via mechanical cleansing measures. Although it has been a common practice for more than 70 years, its use is based mostly on expert opinion rather than solid evidence. Tamoxifen Mechanical bowel preparation in minimally invasive and vaginal gynecologic surgery is strongly debated, since many studies have not confirmed its effectiveness, neither in reducing postoperative infectious morbidity nor in improving surgeons' performance. A comprehensive search of Medline/PubMed and the Cochrane Library Database was conducted, for related articles up to June 2019, including terms such as "mechanical bowel preparation," "vaginal surgery," "minimally invasive," and "gynecology." We aimed to determine the best practice regarding bowel preparation before these surgical approaches. In previous studies, bowel preparation was evaluated only via mechanical measures. The identified randomized trials in laparoscopic approach and in vaginal surgery were 8 and 4, respee omitted prior to minimally invasive and vaginal gynecologic surgeries. Their fungicidal activities and succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) enzymatic inhibitory abilities were evaluated. Preliminary fungicidal bioassay results showed that some of the target compounds exhibited moderate fungicidal activity. Among them, compound 4a showed 40.54% inhibition against Botrytis cinerea fungi. An SDH enzymatic inhibition assay revealed that the IC50 of compound 4b was 3.18 µM. This result indicated that the enzymatic inhibition level of 4b was similar to that of boscalid. Compound 4f exhibited superior comprehensive fungicidal and SDH enzymatic inhibitory activities. Molecular docking results suggested that 4f could bind well to the substrate cavity and the entrance cavity of SDH (1YQ3). In particular, 4f could react with the key catalytic site Arg 297. This phenomenon implied that 4f could act as the lead compound for further optimization. © Pesticide Science Society of Japan 2020. First, the applicability of a cleanup cartridge, comprised of a polymer sorbent consisting of a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer with N-containing polar groups and methacrylate, in food samples was demonstrated for the first time. Second, applying an internal standard (IS) calibration method at a lower cost was considered by changing the timing of the IS addition and selecting the minimum number of ISs by referring on the matrix effect. The proposed method resulted in excellent recoveries in all tested matrices (brown rice, grapes, and peanuts) at a spiked concentration of 0.01 mg/kg. Subsequently, a residue analysis of hagobou (young burdock) was conducted. Imidacloprid was detected at 0.02 mg/kg, and the recoveries calculated in parallel with the analysis were satisfactory. © Pesticide Science Society of Japan 2020.
