The purpose of the study to explore the prevalence and to figure out the causes of general hyperferritinemia and extreme hyperferritinemia as detected through the ferritin measurements requested by the rheumatology department. Adult patients at the age of 18 years and older with at least one serum ferritin level measurement at or above 500 ng/mL as requested by the rheumatology department between January 2010 and December 2019 were evaluated retrospectively. Hyperferritinemia was detected in 4.7% of 11,498 serum ferritin tests. The mean age of 242 patients found to have hyperferritinemia was 53.7 ± 17.1 years; of the patients, 63.2% were female, and the mean serum ferritin value was 2820 ± 5080 ng/mL. The most common cause of hyperferritinemia was rheumatological diseases with a ratio of 59.1%, which was followed by infections, iron overload, and solid malignancy. The survey included 280 patients with AIRD and 102 control subjects. 54% (152/280) of the patients and 67% (68/102) of the controls were willing to get vaccinated (p = 0.03). Patients > 45-years of age were more willing to vaccinate than those with age ≤ 45-years (61.9% vs. 44.8%; p = 0.001). Patients with lower education had more vaccine hesitancy than those with graduation and above (38% vs. 69%; p  less then  0.001). To achieve an optimal clinical outcome in reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RSA), accurate placement of the components is essential. The recently introduced navigation technology of augmented reality (AR) through head-mounted displays (HMD) offers a promising new approach to visualize the anatomy and navigate component positioning in various orthopedic surgeries. We hypothesized that AR through HMD is feasible, reliable, and accurate for guidewire placement in RSA baseplate positioning.

Twelve human cadaver shoulders were scanned with computed tomography (CT) and RSA baseplate positioning was 3-D planned using dedicated software. The shoulders were prepared through a deltopectoral approach and an augmented reality hologram was superimposed using the HMD Microsoft HoloLense. The central guidewire was then navigated through the HMD to achieve the planned entry point and trajectory. Postoperatively, the shoulders were CT-scanned a second time and the deviation from the planning was calculated.

The mean deviation of the entry point was 3.5mm  ± 1.7mm (95% CI 2.4mm; 4.6mm). The mean deviation of the planned trajectory was 3.8°  ± 1.7° (95% CI 2.6°; 4.9°).

The prevalence of lateral bony impingements [i.e., Sinus Tarsi (STI), Talo-Fibular (TFI) and Calcaneo-Fibular (CFI)] and their association with Peritalar Subluxation (PTS) have not been clearly established for progressive collapsing foot deformity (PCFD).This study aims to assess the prevalence of STI, TFI and CFI in PCFD, in addition to their association with PTS. We hypothesized that STI and TFI would be more prevalent than CFI.

Seventy-two continuous symptomatic PCFD cases were retrospectively reviewed. Weightbearing computed tomography (WBCT) was used to assess lateral impingements and classified as STI, TFI and CFI. PTS was assessed by the percent of uncovered and the incongruence angle of the middle facet, and the overall foot deformity was determined by the foot and ankle offset (FAO). Data were collected by two fellowship-trained independent observers.

Intra-observer and inter-observer reliabilities for impingement assessment ranged from substantial to almost perfect. STI was present in 84.7%, TFI in 65.
