To inform the development of interventions to retain donors following a vasovagal reaction (VVR), the aim of this study is to use the Health Action Process Approach (HAPA) to identify predictors of intentions to re-donate and actual return behavior among whole blood (WB) and plasma donors who experienced a VVR.

=36.5 ± 14.4 years; 73.3% female) completed an online survey after experiencing a VVR. Two hierarchical regression analyses were conducted for each donation type. In the first analysis, donation intentions were regressed onto the motivational HAPA constructs and social support. In the second analysis, donor return within 6months was regressed onto social support, intentions, and the volitional HAPA constructs.

The motivational and social support variables accounted for 47.2% of the variance in intentions to return in WB donors and 15.7% in plasma donors. For both groups, task self-efficacy, positive and negative outcome expectancies, and social support were significant predictors of intentions to return. Intentions and action planning were significant predictors of donor return in both groups, and recovery self-efficacy was significant for plasma only.

The COronaVIrus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has led to significant re-organisation of general practice in the United Kingdom and around the world. The general practice workforce has led changes to their services, often dealing with high levels of uncertainty. The way in which many practitioners consult has shifted significantly, and there has been an increase in the number of phone and online consultations. We know very little about how those working in general practice experienced the service reorganisation introduced in the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The aim of this project was to describe the changes in the delivery of general practice in the United Kingdom in the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, to explore primary care practitioners' and managers' experiences of change within general practice during this time and investigate shifts in perceptions of professional identities.

We conducted a longitudinal qualitative study that captured narrative accounts from 17 primary reased demand and significant change.

Participants' narratives describe the challenges COVID-19 presented to general practice. Responses mirror the shifts in the pandemic and its management - from an initial sense of autonomy but uncertainty, to a period of stability and patients' increasing frustration. The re-organisation of general practice has affected practitioners' views of their work and their role as clinicians. Participants' narratives were framed profoundly by the importance of their relationships with patients. This analysis of practitioners' and managers' narratives highlights the need for further exploration of how to support the general practice workforce's well-being longer term in a context of increased demand and significant change.Ferroptosis is a new form of regulated, non-apoptotic cell death driven by iron-dependent phospholipid peroxidation. Its therapeutic potential is however, greatly limited by the low efficiency of regulating cell ferroptosis in vivo. Herein, we report a PROTAC-based protein degrader that depletes endogenous glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) and induces cancer cell ferroptosis. We demonstrate that a rationally designed GPX4 degrader, dGPX4, can deplete tumor cell GPX4 via proteasomal protein degradation, showing a five-fold enhancement of ferroptosis induction efficiency compared to that of GPX4 inhibition using ML162. Moreover, we show that the intracellular delivery of dGPX4 using biodegradable lipid nanoparticles (dGPX4@401-TK-12) induces cell-selective ferroptosis by targeting cancer cell microenvironment. The in vivo administration of dGPX4@401-TK-12 effectively suppresses tumor growth without appreciable side effects. The multi-scale EDOT/F-PMIA nanofiber membrane can be served as the matrix to fabricate gel polymer electrolyte (GPE). Furthermore, under the influence of fluorine-containing emulsion and EDOT, the PMIA-based GPE possessed excellent thermostability, eminent mechanical property and well-distributed lithium-ions flux. Especially, the pore size of the nanofiber membrane decreased after adding the fluorine-containing emulsion and EDOT. And the element S and O in EDOT with lone pair electrons were capable of binding with the lithium polysulfides, which was conducive to inhibiting the "shuttle effect" of lithium polysulfides by combining the physical confinement and chemical binding. However, amidst global disruptions by climate change, the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, and other disasters, hospitals' ability to cope continues to be highly variable.
