Sperm quality has an important role in the success of assisted reproductive techniques, by adding some bioactive agents with a positive impact on sperms, it can be improved.

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of kisspeptin on the sperm motility criteria, Lactate dehydrogenase-C (LDHC) activity, acrosomal reaction, and capacitation in the mouse testicular sperm in vitro.

Sperm samples were extracted from testes of 96 male Balb/C mice weighing 25-30 gr, aged 6-8 wk. Then, they were separated into 4 parts; 2 controls and 2 kisspeptin-treated aliquots; each one incubated for either 15 or 30 min. The sperm motility and the LDHC activity were evaluated, and also the frequency of the non-capacitated, intact, and acrosomal-reacted sperms were evaluated by staining with Wheat germ agglutinin, Peanut agglutinin, and Concanavalin A, respectively. The stained sperms were analyzed by flow cytometry and fluorescent microscope.

Our result showed that kisspeptin increased both the sperm motility (p = 0.04) and LDHC enzyme activity (p = 0.04) after 15 min of incubation. At the same time, it did not impact the frequency of the non-capacitated, intact and acrosomal-reacted sperms after incubation in the same period (p = 0.16).

A 15 min period of incubation with kisspeptin could be applicable for evaluating sperm motility and LDH activity.

The prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and male infertility is high in Iran.

The present research aimed to examine the association between serum vitamin D [25(OH)D], parameters of semen including semen volume, sperm count, motility and morphology, and reproductive hormones in infertile Iranian men.

This was a cross-sectional study on 119 infertile men conducted between September 2018 and May 2019. Subjects were divided into 3 groups based on serum vitamin D levels deficient (

<

10 ng/mL), insufficient (10 ng/mL

25(OH)D

30 ng/mL), and sufficient (

>

30 ng/mL). Body mass index and waist circumference were measured. 25(OH)D, testosterone, sex hormone-binding globulin, luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone and estradiol levels, and semen parameters were assessed.

The semen volume, sperm counts, total and progressively motile sperm, normal sperm morphology, testosterone levels, and testosterone/estradiol ratio were substantially higher in the sufficient group compared to the other groups (p

<

0.001). Also, in the sufficient group, serum LH (p

<

0.001) and estradiol (p

<

0.001, p = 0.01) were notably lower and serum sex hormone-binding globulin (p

<

0.001) and the testosterone/LH ratio (p

<

0.001) were considerably higher compared to the insufficient and deficient groups.

Our study showed a positive relationship between serum vitamin D levels, and seminal parameters and sex hormones in Iranian infertile males.

Sexual dysfunction has many factors in multiple sclerosis, but there is no reliable treatment for this challenge.

Determining effective sexual function or dysfunction interventions in individuals with multiple sclerosis.

To find the relevant published interventional studies that at least had an English abstract or in Persian, we searched International Statistical Institute, PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane, Medline, PsycINFO, EMBASE, CINAHL, and Google Scholar from January 1990 to June 2021. The results were analyzed using RevMan 5.3 software. The p

0.05 was considered significant.

Out of 568 articles, 41 were included after deleting the duplicate and irrelevant articles. Studies were divided into 2 groups of sexual function (n = 27) and dysfunction (n = 14). Interventions in each category have 4 subgroups psychoeducational, exercise and rehabilitation, and medical and multi-type interventions. For improving sexual function, more than half of psychoeducational interventions showed a significant improvement after interventions (p = 0.0003). In sexual dysfunction studies, most of the interventions (n = 13/14) had improved at least one subscale of sexual dysfunction. Medical interventions were effective on men's sexual dysfunction, and psychoeducational interventions had been more effective in women's sexual dysfunction.

Psychoeducational and medical interventions are the commonest effective interventions. The psychoeducational studies conducted specifically on women had a positive impact, and only 4 articles with medical interventions were specifically targeted at men, which had a positive effect.

The present study aimed to investigate whether motor skill development affects students' psychological and social traits during the covid 19 pandemics. The present study's population consisted of all students aged 9-17 years in the three grades of the elementary, middle, and high school in Mazandaran province in the academic year 2020-2021, which corresponded to approximately 534 thousand students. We used a simple random sampling to determine the sample size because Iranian schools were closed. In this study, we selected 15 individuals for each of the experimental and control groups. Due to some students dropping out or leaving the practice, the samples comprised 42 girls and 45 boys in the control group and 41 girls and 43 boys in the experimental group. To collect data, we used the Standard Student Social Skills Questionnaire by Garsham and Elliott (1990), Cooper-Smith Self-Esteem Questionnaire, and Children's Depression Scale Short Form (CDS-A). We conducted the experimental group for 36 sessions, i.e., three months and three sessions per week, and each session lasted 30-45 min, depending on the quarantine conditions on the 19th day. To analyze the data, we used a two-way analysis of variance and the Scheffe post hoc test. The results showed that all groups had lower scores in psychological traits than those in the pretest. However, no significant difference was found between groups (P.  less then  0.05), and this effect was not significant in social traits (05/0  less then  P.). We also suggest that school principals and health care professionals use this study to design guidelines for creating a healthy environment and developing health-oriented educational programs to improve students' quality of life and health. We present deep learning assisted optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging for quantitative tissue characterization and differentiation in dermatology. We utilize a manually scanned single fiber OCT (sfOCT) instrument to acquire OCT images from the skin. The focus of this study is to train a U-Net for automatic skin layer delineation. We demonstrate that U-Net allows quantitative assessment of epidermal thickness automatically. U-Net segmentation achieves high accuracy for epidermal thickness estimation for normal skin and leads to a clear differentiation between normal skin and skin lesions. Our results suggest that a single fiber OCT instrument with AI assisted skin delineation capability has the potential to become a cost-effective tool in clinical dermatology, for diagnosis and tumor margin detection.

Playful learning for environmental education represents a participatory pedagogical mediation that considers the socio-environmental realities in which persons are immersed.

To promote environmental education, through playful, participatory, and flexible methods, to prevent pesticide exposure.

Using geographic information systems, the distances between schools and bananas plantations were calculated. STC-15 supplier A playful and constructivism methodology was designed for primary school students (6 - 8.5 years), and their legal guardians. Subsequently, 148 workshops were developed in 37 rural Costa Rican schools, in which 2757 children and 387 adults participated.

Thirty-eight percent (38 %) (n=14) of the schools were located at less than 100 meters from banana plantations. Playful communication generated a participatory environment, in which local needs were identified and collective knowledge was built about the effects of pesticide exposure on the environment and human health. Participants were able to identify the main preventive actions to reduce pesticide exposure.

Playful, participatory, and flexible methodologies in environmental education facilitate the process of sensitizing first cycle primary school students and their parents from rural communities about the risks of exposure to pesticides. The methodology used can be easily adapted for application in other environmental science studies.

Carpal tunnel release is a life-changing procedure within hand surgery. Multiple factors may have an impact on the outcome following surgery.

In this retrospective cohort study, we reviewed all patients who underwent carpal tunnel release in our institutional database from 2018 to 2020. We included patients with a minimum of 6-week follow-up. Patient demographics were identified, including insurance status and comorbidities. Patients were categorized as "improved" or "not improved" based on two-point test differences. Results were analyzed using the Fisher exact test. We ran a logistic regression model to analyze the relationship between income status (operationalized by having Medicaid/Carelink) and preoperative scores, and inferential statistics were computed with appropriate

tests.

Of the 125 patients who met the inclusion criteria, 47 (37.6%) had Medicaid or Carelink, and 79 (62.4%) had commercial insurance. Medicaid/ Carelink patients presented with worse two-point discrimination on initial prescounseling patients in whom tactile acuity may be less predictable.During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the development of point-of-care (POC) detection with high sensitivity and rapid detection time is urgently needed to prevent transmission of infectious diseases. Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have been considered attractive materials for enhancing sensitivity and reducing the detection time of conventional immunoassays due to their unique properties including magnetic behavior, high surface area, excellent stability, and easy biocompatibility. In addition, detecting target analytes through color development is necessary for user-friendly POC detection. In this review, recent advances in different types of MNPs-based immunoassays such as improvement of the conventional enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), immunoassays based on the peroxidase-like activity of MNPs and based on the dually labeled MNPs, filtration method, and lateral-flow immunoassay are described and we analyze the advantages and strategies of each method. Furthermore, immunoassays incorporating MNPs for COVID-19 diagnosis through color development are also introduced, demonstrating that MNPs can become common tools for on-site diagnosis.
