002). The ADC cutoff value that best differentiated between lymphoma-related and sarcoidosis-related enlarged lymph nodes was 1.205, with a sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy of 87.5%, 82.6%, 85.1%, 84.0% and 86.3%, respectively. No significant differences were found between the two groups regarding T1 signal intensity, T2 signal intensity, and lymph node diameter.

MRI parameters such as ADC, diffusion, and T2 ratio can be useful in the differentiation between sarcoidosis and lymphoma in the evaluation of enlarged lymph nodes.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of backpressure on the maximum length of irrigation laterals using two types of emitters (pressure-compensating and nonpressure-compensating) in different situations. Data from a field experiment combined with information obtained from a previously published paper was used, that tested driplines hydraulics behavior influenced by backpressure. The lateral dripline design technique based on statistical approach developed by Anyoji & Wu 1987 was used to calculate the maximum length. The variables that most influenced the maximum length of the laterals were the terrain slope and permissible flowrate variation. For nonpressure-compensating emitters, the maximum length of the irrigation laterals is up to 5% greater in subsurface applications than in surface applications. For pressure-compensating emitters operating under the influence of backpressure, there is an increase in the discharge exponent due to the small difference in flowrate between the surface and subsurface conditions, which also increases the influence of pressure variations on the flowrate thus, the surface laterals are up to 8% longer than the subsurface ones.Lipases are hydrolases used in various sectors such as the food, pharmaceutical and chemical synthesis industries. In this study, epiphytic microorganisms were isolated from the Serra of Ouro Branco State Park (Minas Gerais, Brazil) and were subsequently evaluated for their ability to produce extracellular lipases. Among the 46 isolated strains, 25 presented positive results for lipase production in the agar plate screening assay. Two of these strains that expressed the highest diffusion halos, were genetically identified as Serratia marcescens and Pseudomonas fluorescens and catalogued in the Tropical Cultures Collection from the André Tosello Foundation/Brazil as CCT 7796 and CCT 7797, respectively. The fermentation growth kinetics indicated that the maximum extracellular lipase activities were achieved between 96 and 120h of cultivation. The highest lipolytic activity for both strains was observed at an optimum temperature and pH of 37°C and 7.0, respectively. At these conditions, the lipase activity detected in the crude enzymatic extract of both strains was close to 15.0 U/mL. We consider that these species are promising lipase producers for industrial applications.Conyza species are important weeds in global agriculture, especially due to their capacity to evolve resistance to multiple herbicide mechanisms of action. We aimed to evaluate the frequency and distribution of resistance to glyphosate and chlorimuron-ethyl in Conyza spp. populations from Brazil. Seed samples were collected from grain production areas across nine Brazilian states over five consecutive years (2014 to 2018). Prior to resistance monitoring trials, dose-response assays were conducted to determine a single dose of glyphosate or chlorimuron-ethyl to discriminate resistant and susceptible populations. Resistance monitoring based on plant responses to the application of discriminatory doses of glyphosate (960 g ha-1) or chlorimuron-ethyl (20 g ha-1). Populations were classified as resistant, moderately resistant, or susceptible to either herbicide. While glyphosate resistance was highly frequent (71.2%) in all the five years, chlorimuron-ethyl resistant populations occurred at 39.8% of the total. The frequency of multiple resistance to both herbicides (35.3%) was proportional to the occurrence of chlorimuron-ethyl resistance (39.6%). Resistance to glyphosate and to chlorimuron-ethyl were found across all states evaluated.Pecan trees require adequate soil moisture conditions to produce nuts with good yield and quality. Irrigation should be an important considered practice in orchards management plan, mainly in regions with water deficit periods. The objective of this research was to evaluate irrigation on pecan nuts growth and yield. This study was conducted in Uruguay, during the fast development phase until the pecan nuts harvest. Three irrigation treatments were used 0 L (control), 70 L and 140 L plant-1 of water every two days, applied via drip irrigation in seven-year-old pecan trees of the cultivar Success. The number of nuts per cluster and nuts' diameter and length were evaluated during nut growth. After harvesting, peeled nuts' width and length were measured, and after peeling, the kernel length, width, height and filling and the kernel and peel percentage were evaluated. According to the results, it was possible to identify that periods of water deficit during pecan nuts development affected the kernel filling stageand size. Irrigation in pecan plants provides greater dimensions and nuts mass. With the use of 140 L plant-1, there was an increase in the nut mass of more than 100% in relation to the nuts from plants without irrigation.

This study aimed to elaborate a hydrogel constituted by carboxymethyl chitosan (CMC), hyaluronic acid (HA) and silver (Ag) and to evaluate its healing effect on partial-thickness burn wounds experimentally induced in rats.

CMC was obtained by chitosan reacting with monochloroacetic acid. The carboxymethylation was confirmed by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and hydrogen nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Scanning electron microscopy was used to determine the morphologicalcharacteristics of chitosan and CMC. After the experimental burn wound induction, the animals (n = 126) were treated with different CMC formulations, had their occlusive dressings changed daily and were followed through 7, 14 and 30 days. Morphometric, macroscopic and microscopic aspects and collagen quantification were evaluated.

Significative wound contraction, granulation tissue formation, inflammatory infiltration and collagen fibers deposit throughout different phases of the healing process were observed in the CMC hydrogels treated groups.

The results showed that, in the initial phase of the healing process, the most adequate product was the CMC/HA/Ag association, while in the other phases the CMC/HA association was the best one to promote the healing of burn wounds.

To analyze the percentage of the coverage of transfers from the Brazilian Unified Health System regarding nursing procedures conducted in the Outpatient facility of a University Hospital.

Quantitative, exploratory, descriptive case study. The sample for calculating the mean total direct costs was composed of non-participant observations of 656 procedures. STO-609 clinical trial The obtained costs were compared to transfers from the Unified Health System by multiplying the amount of procedures agreed upon by the unit cost in the Unified Table of Procedures in 2016 and 2017.

The Unified Health System transferred a percentage corresponding to 11.13% of the actual cost in 2016 and to 16.02% in 2017. In these two years, transfer values covered only a mean of 13.4%, resulting in a percentage difference in revenue significantly smaller than the actual cost.

The higher the productivity of the performed procedures, the higher was the hospital deficit and, consequently, the higher were the costs not covered by the Unified Health System.

To analyze evidence of the occurrence of tuberculosis in people living on the streets provided by the literature.

Systematic review conducted in the databases PubMed, EMBASE, LILACS, and SciELO electronic library. Analysis of the empirical material was guided by Hermeneutics. The main themes which give shape to the association between tuberculosis and street population were sought to be understood.

Initially, 343 articles were identified, but only seven met the eligibility criteria. The literature shows that homeless people with tuberculosis presented unfavorable treatment outcomes when compared to the population with fixed residence. Some of the associated reasons were abusive consumption of alcohol and other drugs and associated diseases, such as human immunodeficiency virus and others.

Despite the importance of this theme, analysis of the scientific production has provided evidence of the need for studies aimed not only at comprehending the occurrence of disease in this vulnerable group, but specially ways of fighting it.

To analyze sociodemographic and clinical characteristics, depressive symptoms and quality of life of patients with heart failure and associate quality of life with depressive symptoms.

A cross-sectional study conducted with outpatients and inpatients. Sociodemographic data were collected and questionnaires were applied to assess quality of life (Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire) and depressive symptoms (Beck Depression Inventory).

The sample consisted of 113 patients. Outpatients were retired (p=0.004), with better education (p=0.034) and higher ventricular ejection fraction (p=0.001). The inpatient group had greater depressive symptoms (18.1±10 vs 14.6±1.3; p=0.036) and lower quality of life (74.1±18.7 vs 40.5±3.4; p<0.001) than the outpatient group. Outpatients with depressive symptom scores from 18 points had worse quality of life scores in 17 of the 21 questions.

Inpatients had worse depressive symptoms and quality of life, which was more affected in the physical dimension in those with moderate/severe depressive symptoms. Outpatients with more severe depressive symptoms had worse quality of life in all dimensions.

To analyze nurses' attitudes towards families of newborns hospitalized in neonatal units.

This is a survey carried out in ten municipal hospitals in São Paulo. Two questionnaires were applied, one from the sociodemographic profile and the other from the characterization of neonatal units, and the Importância das Famílias nos Cuidados de Enfermagem - Atitudes dos Enfermeiros scale. Parametric tests ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and Tukey's multiple comparison were applied.

The sample consisted of 145 nurses. Most participants had a mean age of 43.7 (± 9.4) years, were female, nursing assistants, have graduated for more than five years and worked at the unit for less than five years. The total score showed a good attitude towards families (77.7), with statistical significance for an 8-hour working day (p=0.004); supervisor position (p=0.027); participation in short-term courses (p=0.029); written protocols on family care (p=0.031).

Although nurses perceive themselves with positive attitudes towards families, it is necessary to invest in training and changes in structure and organizational processes aimed at including families in neonatal units.
