PEGylated FVIII product, damoctocog alfa pegol, was marginally above and single-chain product, lonoctocog alfa, below the predefined acceptance criteria for FVIII activity<25IU/dL ± 5IU/dL; for FVIII activity ≥25IU/dL ± 20% (relative). The different principles of OSA and CSA led to discrepancies in the estimation of all analysed FVIII products. Additionally, in vitro recovery was increased at lower levels of FVIII activity using the OSA, whereas recovery was more consistent using the CSA.

These data allow the interpretation of FVIII activity results for different FVIII products using the Roche FVIII OSA on the cobas t 511/711 analysers.

Among insect viruses, isolates of Spodoptera frugiperda multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus (SfMNPV) have proven potential for the control of Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith) (FAW) (Lepidoptera Noctuidae), a pest of many economically essential crops across several continents. Mass production of SfMNPV depends on an in vivo system using host insect rearing. However, many factors can limit its production, including abiotic factors and host characteristics, such as the stage of development and an antagonist intraspecific interaction. Thus, to improve in vivo production, we verified the most suitable larval age to inoculate the virus and the influence of incubation temperature on viral production. Subsequently, cannibal behavior was verified in FAW larvae reared at different densities, while reproducing the conditions of the best treatments. The highest viral yield occurred when FAW larvae were inoculated at 10 and 8 days old and incubated at 22 °C and 25 °C, respectively. Nonetheless, survival (lethal period in days) and cannibal behavior were positively influenced by larval development, which potentially increases the load of contamination and requires larval individualization for these production conditions. In contrast, 4-day-old larvae, which were inoculated and incubated at 31 °C, also demonstrated high viral production, with lower rates of cannibalism and death on the same day, thereby showing potential. The information presented in this study is useful for the optimization of the in vivo production systems of SfMNPV.The patterns of insect movement are the cumulate product of many individual decisions and can be shaped by the way morphology and behaviour interacts with landscape structure and composition. Hence, the ongoing process of habitat fragmentation increases the distance among suitable habitats and changes those in such a way that it may favour some movement behaviour. learn more Our study described some biological traits (sex ratio, age structure and individual permanence in a population), as well as the movements of fruit-feeding butterflies along the horizontal dimension (among habitats forest interior, natural forest transition - ecotone and anthropogenic forest transition - edge) and the vertical dimension (between canopy and understory). We sampled butterflies monthly over 1 year in the Atlantic rainforest, South-eastern Brazil, following a standardized design using bait traps. We found that sex ratio was male biased for five out of the six more abundant species and the age structure showed an increase in recruitment of new individuals in the dry season followed by a noticeable aging of the populations in the wet season. In general, our results revealed an aggregated spatial distribution, in which few individuals travelled long distances while most individuals were recaptured in the same trap, suggesting that all studied habitats currently provide the necessary conditions for the maintenance of butterfly populations, favouring fewer movements and narrow home ranges for both sexes and species. Conservation of a set of heterogeneous habitats it is especially important for the maintenance of sedentary butterflies and of those that move large distances.

Noncontrast computed tomography (NCCT) markers for hematoma expansion (HE) in intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) are difficult to be found in small ICHs, of which can also expand. We aimed to investigate whether there were size-related differences in the prevalence of NCCT markers and their association with HE.

This retrospective analysis of prospectively collected stroke registry included 267 consecutive patients with ICH who underwent baseline NCCT within 12h of onset. Qualitative NCCT markers, including heterogeneous density and irregular shape, were assessed. Hematoma density, defined as mean Hounsfield unit of hematoma, and hematoma volume were measured by semiautomated planimetry. Hematoma volume was categorized as small (≤ 10ml) and large (> 10ml). Associations of NCCT markers with HE were analyzed using multivariable logistic regression analyses. The model performances of NCCT markers and hematoma density were compared using receiver operating characteristic curves.

Hematoma expansion occurred in 29.9% of small ICHs and 35.5% of large ICHs. Qualitative NCCT markers were less frequently observed in small ICHs. Heterogeneous density, irregular shape, and hematoma density were associated with HE in small ICH (adjusted odds ratios [95% confidence interval] 3.94 [1.50-10.81], 4.23 [1.73-10.81], and 0.72 [0.60-0.84], respectively), and hematoma density was also related to HE in large ICH (0.84 [0.73-0.97). The model performance was significantly improved in small ICHs when hematoma density was added to the baseline model (DeLong's test, p = 0.02).

The prevalence of NCCT markers and their association with HE differed according to hematoma volume. Quantitative hematoma density was associated with HE, regardless of hematoma size.

To examine involvement of the disease with periodontal disease development, we established immortalized periodontal ligament cells obtained from a Down's syndrome patient by use of SV40T-Ag and hTERT gene transfection. Expressions of SV40T-Ag and hTERT were observed in periodontal ligament cell-derived immortalized cells established from healthy (STPDL) and Down's syndrome patient (STPDLDS) samples. Primary cultured periodontal ligament cells obtained from a healthy subject (pPDL) had a limited number of population doublings ( less then  40), while STPDL and STPDLDS cells continued to grow with more than 80 population doublings. Primary cultured periodontal ligament cells obtained from the patient showed a chromosome pattern characteristic of Down's syndrome with trisomy 21, whereas STPDLDS samples showed a large number of abnormal chromosomes in those results. link2 Gene expression analysis revealed that expression of DSCR-1 in STPDLDS is greater than that in STPDL. These results suggest that the newly established STPDLDS cell line may be a useful tool for study of periodontal disease in Down's syndrome patients. We examine key aspects of data quality for online behavioral research between selected platforms (Amazon Mechanical Turk, CloudResearch, and Prolific) and panels (Qualtrics and Dynata). To identify the key aspects of data quality, we first engaged with the behavioral research community to discover which aspects are most critical to researchers and found that these include attention, comprehension, honesty, and reliability. We then explored differences in these data quality aspects in two studies (N ~ 4000), with or without data quality filters (approval ratings). We found considerable differences between the sites, especially in comprehension, attention, and dishonesty. In Study 1 (without filters), we found that only Prolific provided high data quality on all measures. In Study 2 (with filters), we found high data quality among CloudResearch and Prolific. MTurk showed alarmingly low data quality even with data quality filters. We also found that while reputation (approval rating) did not predict data quality, frequency and purpose of usage did, especially on MTurk the lowest data quality came from MTurk participants who report using the site as their main source of income but spend few hours on it per week. We provide a framework for future investigation into the ever-changing nature of data quality in online research, and how the evolving set of platforms and panels performs on these key aspects.Psychological research is increasingly moving online, where web-based studies allow for data collection at scale. Behavioural researchers are well supported by existing tools for participant recruitment, and for building and running experiments with decent timing. However, not all techniques are portable to the Internet While eye tracking works in tightly controlled lab conditions, webcam-based eye tracking suffers from high attrition and poorer quality due to basic limitations like webcam availability, poor image quality, and reflections on glasses and the cornea. Here we present MouseView.js, an alternative to eye tracking that can be employed in web-based research. Inspired by the visual system, MouseView.js blurs the display to mimic peripheral vision, but allows participants to move a sharp aperture that is roughly the size of the fovea. link3 Like eye gaze, the aperture can be directed to fixate on stimuli of interest. We validated MouseView.js in an online replication (N = 165) of an established free viewing task (N = 83 existing eye-tracking datasets), and in an in-lab direct comparison with eye tracking in the same participants (N = 50). Mouseview.js proved as reliable as gaze, and produced the same pattern of dwell time results. In addition, dwell time differences from MouseView.js and from eye tracking correlated highly, and related to self-report measures in similar ways. The tool is open-source, implemented in JavaScript, and usable as a standalone library, or within Gorilla, jsPsych, and PsychoJS. In sum, MouseView.js is a freely available instrument for attention-tracking that is both reliable and valid, and that can replace eye tracking in certain web-based psychological experiments.Growth mixture modeling is a common tool for longitudinal data analysis. One of the key assumptions of traditional growth mixture modeling is that repeated measures within each class are normally distributed. When this normality assumption is violated, traditional growth mixture modeling may provide misleading model estimation results and suffer from nonconvergence. In this article, we propose a robust approach to growth mixture modeling based on conditional medians and use Bayesian methods for model estimation and inferences. A simulation study is conducted to evaluate the performance of this approach. It is found that the new approach has a higher convergence rate and less biased parameter estimation than the traditional growth mixture modeling approach when data are skewed or have outliers. An empirical data analysis is also provided to illustrate how the proposed method can be applied in practice.
