Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to a stronger base. Items with bases that are strong, such as Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, thrown away by enemies or as a reward for missions or chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players must select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade statistics will be and also the required material or component needed for the upgrade to take place.

There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions are gems that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, but cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of the item's name. For instance adding the suffix Glyph would make the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools when a player swaps one glyph with a different one, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions that can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant differences from the previous versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item can only be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level up however, the materials needed don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a couple of key items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading the upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

Once an item has been completed, it will be eligible for an upgrade set of components, and a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Power and it will reset to zero in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade is successful.

When a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it is able to get affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available depends on the item's base type. For instance an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step will require a certain number of Flightstones and crests, depending on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item is not able to attain its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option of transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with another set of upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours and cost the same amount of material. However, it has a lower rate of success.

To determine the height of a structure, engineers will utilize an instrument to compare the measurement to a known reference point like a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and level before turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high standard of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an essential part of the game and can boost an item's damage, strength or other characteristics. item upgrading can do this through the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling is costly and should only be used in rare cases.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, and use them to acquire Reroll tokens. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.

Prior to this, some upgrades were given priority affixes which made them easier to roll. This meant that you'd receive the stats most important to your build more often than other items. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each stat. This could be good or bad, based on what you're looking to get from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may have a unique bonus that increases the item's power by a set percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added over the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher the chance of receiving the bonus of your choice.

The game also comes with a number of sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on the same unit. This is a good method to give the character more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the initial stages. This is because rerolling could give players a faster path to a powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and progress in the game more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be arranged in different ways. They can be different sizes, contain no elements, or only have a single element. They can be used to organize data or to sort information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways such as size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of upgradeable set items. Some items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Armor sets that provide high defense values or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you already have many armor or weapons already.

Certain set items are upgraded for their unique procs which can be beneficial in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their counterparts in their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the items required to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when fully updated. Particularly for weapons with spell/weapon damage glyphs, upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will result in a significant improvement in their stats. The armor that has a new appearance will also benefit from this because its defense will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
