Meniscus tear is one of the most familiar orthopedic injury, and it is also the leading cause of the dysfunction of knee joint. Recent efforts to improve the success rate of the meniscus repair surgery involve the addition of platelet-rich plasma (PRP). The aim of our experiment is to assess the clinical effects of arthroscopic repair of meniscal tears without or with PRP.

This is a randomized and parallel-group superiority study. The study protocol is approved through the review committee of the corresponding institutions in PLA Army 80th Group Military Hospital. All patients will provide written informed consent to participate in the study. We implement our investigation on the basis of the ethical standards outlined in the Helsinki Declaration of 1964 and then report our outcomes according to the CONSORT statement of 2010. All the patients follow a same rehabilitation program. Patients are assessed at baseline (day before operation), 12 months and 24 months after the last time of injection; outcome assessments involve Ikeuchi score, Lysholm score, and the visual analogue scales for failure and pain rate. P value less than .05 indicates that there is statistical significance.

We suppose that arthroscopic PRP repair of meniscus tears results in improved pain and functional results owing to the release of bioactive molecules that may affect the healing of meniscus.

Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the top 10 malignant tumors worldwide and poses a great threat to human life and health, the prevention and treatment of which has become the focus and difficulty of medical research. With its unique advantages, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is widely used in the prevention and treatment of postoperative recurrence and metastasis of GC as well as the improvement of patients' quality of life. The aim of this study is to elucidate the curative effect and the underlying mechanism of Yiqi Huayu Jiedu (YQHYJD) decoction.

This is a prospective, multicenter, randomized controlled trial continuing 3 years. Two hundred ninety-eight eligible patients will be randomly divided into 2 groups, the chemotherapy combined with placebo and the chemotherapy combined with YQHYJD group at a ratio of 11. All patients will receive the treatment for 6 months and follow up for 3 years. The primary outcomes are disease-free survival, and 1-year, 2-year, 3-year progression-free survival rate, while the secondary outcomes are tumor makers, TCM syndrome score, quality of life score, overall chemotherapy completion rate, intestinal flora diversity test, immune function (T, B lymphocyte subsets and NK cells) test. The Security index includes blood, urine and stool routine, electrocardiogram, liver function (ALT), and renal function (BUN, Scr). click here All of these outcomes will be analyzed at the end of the trial.

This research will provide the valuable evidence for the efficacy and safety of Yiqi Huayu Jiedu decoction in postoperative GC. Furthermore, it will be helpful to form a higher level of evidence-based medical basis for TCM in the treatment of GC recurrence and metastasis.

Talaromyces marneffei (T marneffei), known as a significant pathogen in patients with AIDS in Southeast Asia, is a dimorphic fungus, which can cause deadly systematic infection in immunocompromised hosts. What is more, the dimorphic phase transition has been reported as a conspicuous process linked with virulence. Interestingly, the yeast form was found in infected individuals, representing the pathogenic phase. However, few researches were found to study the mechanism of dimorphic transition. link2 Thus, a diverse insight into the dimorphic switch mechanism, is urgently needed and we are the first one to research the mechanism of dimorphism.

Firstly, we investigated the microarray of T. marneffei in the Gene Expression Omnibus database (GEO) for differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Then Database for Annotation, Visualization and Integrated Discovery (DAVID) v6.8 was employed to analyze the underlying enrichment and pathway in biological process of DEGs. Meanwhile, protein-protein interaction (PPI) network wacitrate Dehydrogenase (Apo Form) and Crystal Structure Of ATP-Dependent Phosphoenolpyruvate Carboxykinase From Thermus thermophilus HB8 in order.

The dimorphic transition of T. marneffei was viewed as a pathogenic factor and DEGs were observed. In-depth study of the function and pathway of DEGs revealed that PMAA_012920, PMAA_028730, PMAA_068140, PMAA_092900, PMAA_032350 were most likely acting as the hub-genes and were likely taking effect through regulating energy metabolism.

The results of published articles on the relationship between the Val158Met polymorphism in the (Catechol-O-methyltransferase) COMT gene and the susceptibility of attention-deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD) are controversial. We conducted an updated meta-analysis of case-control studies to assess the relationship between Val158Met polymorphism in COMT gene and ADHD susceptibility.

A comprehensive literature search was conducted to identify all the case-control studies on the relationship between the COMT gene Val158Met polymorphism and ADHD susceptibility. According to the heterogeneity test results among studies evaluated with I, the fixed effect model or random effect model was selected as the pooling method. Meta-regression as well as sensitive analysis were used to explore possible causes of between-study heterogeneity. The funnel plot and Harbord test were used to estimate publication bias.

Finally, seventeen studies that met the inclusion criteria were included. The Val158Met genotype distributions of COMT gene in controls were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in all studies. In general, there was no significant association between the COMT gene Val158Met polymorphism and ADHD susceptibility in dominant, recessive, and codominant models. The recessive genetic model (I = 60.8%) showed strong heterogeneity among studies, and still no significant association was found after sensitivity analysis. Subgroup analysis stratified by ethnicity (Asian and Caucasian) also showed that there was no significant association in the above-mentioned three models.

This updated meta-analysis indicated that the Val158Met polymorphism in the COMT gene may not be related to the risk of ADHD. Further researches are needed to confirm these results.

CRD42020202200.The aim of this study was to assess the correlation of TWIST1 expression with clinical parameters and the prognosis of type I endometrial cancer (EC).This retrospective study enrolled 345 patients. Immunohistochemical staining was performed on 55 normal endometrium (NE) samples, 27 atypical hyperplasia (AH) samples, and 263 type I EC samples. The association between TWIST1 staining and clinical characteristics and survival was evaluated by univariate and multivariate analyses. We found significantly higher TWIST1 expression in patients with AHs and type I ECs than NEs, but there was no significant difference between TWIST1 expression in AHs and type I ECs. Aberrant TWIST1 expression was significantly associated with clinical parameters, indicating poor prognosis and shorter patient survival. Pearsons Chi-Squared test showed that high TWIST1 expression was significantly associated with a shorter disease-free survival and overall survival. More importantly, multivariate analysis showed that high TWIST1 expression, in addition to myometrial invasion, lymph vascular space invasion, and lymph node metastasis, was an independent predictor of worse DFS in patients with type I ECs.Our findings suggest that TWIST1 might be useful in diagnosing ECs and predicting prognosis in patients with AHs and type I ECs.

Irritable bowel syndrom (IBS) is a common functional gastrointestinal disorder which is characterized as recurrent abdominal pain, abdominal discomfort, and abnormal bowel habits such as diarrhea, constipation, both or alternate appear. Although IBS is not fatal, it seriously affects the patients' daily life and work. Western drug, such as antidiarrheals, gastrointestinal antispasmodic, often cannot get satisfying curative effects. However, the therapeutic effect of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) on IBS is very satisfactory which was shown in a large number of randomized controlled trials. link3 Although TCM has been widely used in clinical practice, its relative effectiveness and safety have not been confirmed. Therefore, this study will use meta-analysis to verify the efficacy and safety of different types of TCM in the treatment of IBS.

We search the China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Database, Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, Pubmey and safety of different TCM treatment methods for IBS.
