A total of 705 articles were found, and 9 articles were quantitatively analyzed. A funnel plot was made for 10 comprehensive datasets. The combined value of the total exposure rate of titanium mesh was 0.44 (44%, 95% CI=0.30~0.58). The results of subgroup analysis showed that the combined value of the customized titanium mesh exposure rate was 0.31 (31%, 95% CI=0.15~0.51), and the combined value of the conventional titanium mesh exposure rate was 0.51 (51%, 95% CI=0.33~0.69). Based on the findings of the present study, the exposure rate of customized titanium mesh is lower than that of conventional titanium mesh. The design of 3D printing customized titanium mesh avoids nerves and blood vessels, which is of great significance to improve the accurate reconstruction of GBR and provides enough space for implantation and reducing the exposure rate. A 21-years-old male patient, non-smoker in excellent general health, presented with a missing tooth #21. Straumann PURE® (4.1x10 mm) Ceramic implant was placed. Three months post-surgery, the soft tissues architecture has been achieved and stabilized, healing was satisfactory around the zirconia implant and provisional restoration. The final layered zirconia crown was fabricated. Two-step cementation technique was used to minimize the excess cement during final delivery of the crown. After delivery of the final restoration, the patient was followed up after 1, 3, 6, and 12 months.The western flower thrips, Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) (Thysanoptera Thripidae), is an important, worldwide vector of two tospoviruses (Family Bunyaviridae; Genus Tospovirus), Impatiens necrotic spot virus (INSV) and Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV). In the Salinas Valley of California, INSV causes severe necrosis, stunting, and crop losses to lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.). Because broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica L.) and cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis L.) are major rotation crops with lettuce in the Salinas Valley, it is critical to understand if these Brassicas influence the dispersal dynamics of F. occidentalis. In 2013 and 2014, surveys were conducted evaluating yellow sticky cards and plant samples in lettuce, broccoli, and cauliflower fields in three regions of the Salinas Valley. F. occidentalis were collected on sticky cards from April to November and on foliage in all three regions. Two-choice oviposition assays as well as no-choice and two-choice feeding assays were conducted where F. occidentalis adults were exposed to leaves of lettuce, broccoli, and cauliflower. A significantly greater number of eggs was found on lettuce than on broccoli or cauliflower leaves in the choice assay, whereas for the broccoli and cauliflower choice assay, the number of eggs retrieved was low and not significantly different between hosts. The number of F. occidentalis feeding spots and leaf area injury ratings were similar on broccoli and lettuce leaves but were significantly lower on cauliflower than on lettuce and broccoli leaves. The implications of these results on thrips and plant virus management are discussed.In the all-on-four concept, the positions of both posterior and anterior implants can affect stress distribution. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of the position of anterior implants on stress distribution in the implant, the bone around the implant, and prosthetic components in the resorbed maxilla using the all-on-four concept. All-on-four designs were prepared with three different anterior implant positions in a fully edentulous maxilla. Anterior implants were placed axially in the central incisor area in model 1, in the lateral incisors area in model 2, and in the canine area in model 3, forming three groups. The von Mises and principal stresses in the bone tissue and the von Mises stresses in the implant and prosthetic components were evaluated by three-dimensional finite element analysis. There were more stresses on the cortical bone than cancellous bone. The stresses on the bone tissue and implant components were generally concentrated around the posterior implant, whereas the stresses on the prosthetic components were generally concentrated in the anterior region. Changing the anterior implant positions from the central tooth to the canine tooth reduced the stress on the bone around the implant. The highest von Mises stresses occurred in the prosthetic superstructure in all models, whereas the lowest stresses occurred in the cancellous bone. Changing the position of the anterior implants from the central tooth to the canine area in the maxillary all-on-four concept created a favourable stress distribution..

Four clinical active surveillance trials including LORIS, COMET, LORD and LORETTA, are being conducted to assess whether women with low-risk ductal carcinoma in situ can safely avoid surgery. The present study aimed to determine the rate of upstaging to invasive cancer among patients with a preoperative diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ and to evaluate the incidence of upstaging in patients meeting the eligibility criteria for four active surveillance clinical trials.

The present study initially enrolled 180 patients with 183 calcifications who received the diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ by biopsy. Patients were classified as eligible for four clinical trials according to the respective inclusion criteria.

In total, 152 patients with 155 calcifications were analyzed. Of these, 32 (21%) were upstaged to invasive disease based on the final pathological analysis of surgical specimens. Of the 152 patients, 53 (35%), 90 (59%), 24 (16%) and 34 (22%) met the eligibility criteria for the LORIS, COMET, LORD and LORETTA trial, respectively. Among patients with low-risk ductal carcinoma in situ, 10 (19%), 14 (16%), 6 (25%) and 4 (12%) patients were upstaged to invasive disease in LORIS, COMET, LORD and LORETTA, respectively. The upstaging to pT1b or higher rates were 2% (1/53), 3% (3/90), 0% (0/24) and 3% (1/34) in LORIS, COMET, LORD and LORETTA, respectively.

The upstaging rate in patients eligible for the clinical active surveillance trials was 12-25%. Although the rate of upstaging to pT1b or higher was low, further studies are required to determine the rates of upstaging to invasive cancer and the risk factors among patients with low-risk ductal carcinoma in situ.

Erythritol is both a common nonnutritive sweetener and an endogenous product of glucose metabolism. Recent reports suggest that elevated plasma erythritol is a predictive biomarker of cardiometabolic disease onset and complications.

Although short-term erythritol consumption has been evaluated, the effect of chronically elevated circulating erythritol on adiposity and glucose metabolism has not. This study investigated the effect of longer-term erythritol consumption on weight gain and glucose tolerance in young/adolescent mice.

Four erythritol supplementation experiments were completed and analyzed separately in male C57BL/6J mice. In experiments 1 and 2, mice aged 8 wk or 20 wk, respectively, were randomly allocated to consume 16% fat diet (LFD) or LFD with 40 g/kg erythritol. In experiments 3 and 4, mice aged 8 wk or 20 wk were fed 45% fat diet (HFD) or HFD with 40 g/kg erythritol (HFD+ERY). In each experiment, we compared the effect of erythritol consumption on plasma erythritol, body weight and comeight, composition, or glucose tolerance.

In young/adolescent mice, prolonged erythritol consumption did not significantly affect body weight, composition, or glucose tolerance.Actinomyces spp. are members of normal oral flora that may give rise to a rare disease- oral actinomycosis . Here we present a case of early implant failure associated with actinomycosis in an otherwise -healthy 43-year-old female and the treatment adopted following explantation. Clinically, one month after the implant placement, the peri-implant soft tissues were hyperplastic and associated with an excessive tissue reaction, bleeding, suppuration, deep probing depth , and implant mobility at #19 and #20 implants. Both implants were removed and all granulomatous tissues were thoroughly debrided. Histopathological examination revealed signs of acute ulcerative inflammatory reaction and Actinomyces colonies. The patient was prescribed short-term oral penicillins. After six months following explantation, the deficient bone was augmented with using a combination of absorbable collagen membrane, autogenous block and xenograft. The patient was followed up for one year ; and subsequently, two implants were reinserted at the same positions. The patient was followed up and no recurrences were observed. Implant failure due to actinomycosis is an extremely rare condition , and a definitive diagnosis is therefore essential for successful treatment.

This study investigated the efficacy and mechanisms of dietary quercetin in decreasing plasma and tissue concentrations of MGO and AGEs in MGO-administered mice.

Male, 6-wk-old CD-1 mice were administered AIN-93Gdiet and water (Con) or 0.12% MGO in water (MGO) or MGO plus 0.2% (0.2Q) dietary quercetin for 1 wk (n=5) (experiment 1), and water (Con), 0.12% MGO (MGO), or MGO plus 0.1% (0.1Q), 0.2% (0.2Q), or 0.4% (0.4Q) dietary quercetin for 6 wk (n=10) (experiment 2). The plasma, kidney, and liver concentrations of MGO, quercetin, and isorhamnetin and their trapping adducts with MGO were determined by LC-MS, and AGE concentrations were measured by the fluorescent method. Furthermore, the expressions of glyoxalase I/II (GLO I/II) and aldose reductase (AR), MGO detoxification enzymes, were determined by Western blot. One-factor ANOVA and post hoc Dunnett's or Tukey's test were used to analyze the data.
