Measuring myocardial contractility is of great value in exploring cardiac pathogenesis and quantifying drug efficacy. Among the biosensing platforms developed for detecting the weak contractility of a single layer of cardiomyocytes (CMs), thin brittle metal membrane sensors with microcracks are highly sensitive. However, their poor stability limits the application in long-term measurement. Here, we report a high stability crack sensor fabricated by deposition of a 105 nm thick Ag/Cr with microcracks onto a carbon nanotubes-polydimethylsiloxane (CNT-PDMS) layer. This brittle-tough bilayer crack sensor achieved high sensitivity (gauge factor 108 241.7), a wide working range (0.01-44%), and high stability (stable period >2 000 000 cycles under the strain caused by a monolayer of CMs). During 14-day continuously monitoring CMs culturing and drug treatment testings, the device demonstrated high sensitivity and stability to record the dynamic change caused by contractility of the CMs.

To present a morphological map of cervical sagittal alignment in basilar invagination (BI), a congenital anomaly of the craniovertebral junction, and contribute to a comprehensive understanding of cervical sagittal alignment in congenital cervical deformities.
Ideal cervical sagittal alignment and surgical targets are debated by scholars. However, most of the literature focuses on the description of cervical sagittal alignment in acquired cervical diseases and normal subjects and few on congenital cervical spine deformities.
This study analyzed cervical spine lateral radiographs of 87 BI patients and 98 asymptomatic subjects. They were analyzed for cranial, cervical spine, and thoracic inlet parameters.
Patients with BI manifested significantly larger values for the following parameters than asymptomatic subjects cranial tilt, cranial incidence angle, sagittal vertical axis (SVA) CGH-C7, C2-C7 angle, cervical tilt, and significantly smaller values for the following parameters crand downward, smaller upper cervical lordosis, larger lower cervical lordosis, and smaller thoracic inlet angle. In BI patients, the SVA C2-C7 is an important parameter in cervical sagittal alignment. In both individuals with congenital anomalies of the craniovertebral junction and the asymptomatic population, cervical spine alignment is significantly associated with cranial alignment, particularly thoracic inlet alignment.The nurses experience burnout due to COVID-19 and their psychological state is adversely affected by the pandemic. This study aims to examine the relationships between nurses' COVID-19 burnout, life engagement, and well-being perceptions. The study was carried out on 310 nurses working in a university hospital. As a result of the regression analysis, it was determined that the perception of COVID-19 burnout explained 14.7% of the total variance of life engagement and 40.8% of the total variance of well-being. The study also revealed that the perception of well-being explained 25% of the total variance of life engagement.
Considering the high rates of opioid usage following orthopedic surgeries, it is important to explore this in the setting of the current opioid epidemic. This study examined acute opioid poisonings in postoperative spine surgery patients in New York and the rates of poisonings among these patients in the context of New York's 2016 State legislation limiting opioid prescriptions.
Claims for adult patients who received specific orthopedic spine procedures in the outpatient setting were identified from 2009 to 2018 in the New York Statewide Planning and Research Cooperative System (SPARCS) database. Patients were followed to determine if they presented to the emergency department for acute opioid poisoning postoperatively. Multivariable logistic regression was performed to evaluate the effect of patient demographic factors on the likelihood of poisoning. The impact of the 2016 New York State Public Health Law Section 3331, 5. (b), (c) limiting opioid analgesic prescriptions was also evaluated by comparing raid prescriptions. It is important to define factors that may increase the risk of postoperative opioid poisoning to promote appropriate management of postsurgical pain.

A retrospective comparative study.
The aim of this study was to compare the length and diameter of thoracic pedicles in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) as measured on preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (pMRI) to intraoperative computed tomography (iCT) scan.
Optimally sized pedicle screw placement during instrumented posterior spinal fusion for AIS can maximize correction and minimize screw pullout. While iCT-guided navigation can quickly estimate screw position and size, this technology is not universally available. Many surgeons utilize pMRI, when obtained, to estimate screw sizes. Data comparing these measurements on pMRI and iCT is limited. We hypothesized that in patients with surgical magnitude AIS, pedicle length, and diameter measured on pMRI would have at least moderate reliability compared to those made on iCT images.

To conduct a pilot study to systematically evaluate cognitive and radiologic features in a cohort of Greek individuals with DM2.
Eleven genetically confirmed individuals with DM2 and 26 age- and education-matched healthy controls were administered the Edinburgh Cognitive and Behavioural Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Screen (ECAS) to screen for impairment in multiple cognitive domains. MRI data were evaluated by morphometric analyses to identify disease-specific gray and white matter alterations. The following statistical thresholds were used for cognitive comparisons PFDR < 0.05 and Bayes factor (BF 10 ) >10.
The DM2 group exhibited cognitive impairment (ECAS Total score; PFDR = 0.001; BF 10 = 108.887), which was dominated by executive impairment ( PFDR = 0.003; BF 10 = 25.330). A trend toward verbal fluency impairment was also identified. No significant impairments in memory, language, or visuospatial function were captured. The analysis of subscores revealed severe impairments in social cognition and alternation. Voxel-based morphometry identified widespread frontal, occipital, and subcortical gray matter atrophy, including the left superior medial frontal gyrus, right medial orbitofrontal gyrus, right operculum, right precuneus, bilateral fusiform gyri, and bilateral thalami.

Although previous studies identified factors that affected the surgical outcomes, their assessment was mainly based on the Japanese Orthopedic Association score, which only includes neurological function. Investigating this pathology through multiple functions and quality of life (QOL) is pivotal to understanding the comprehensive clinical pictures of the cervical OPLL and its therapeutic outcomes.

Vocal roughness is often present in many voice disorders but the assessment of roughness mainly depends on the subjective auditory-perceptual evaluation and lacks acoustic correlates. This study aimed to apply the concept of roughness in general sound quality perception to vocal roughness assessment and to characterize the relationship between vocal roughness and temporal envelop fluctuation measures obtained from an auditory model.
Ten /ɑ/ recordings with a wide range of roughness were selected from an existing database.
