The repeat breeding becomes the major reproduction problem in tropic area especially in Indonesia. It relates to blood metabolic and hormonal level. This research was conducted to investigate the level of blood metabolic and estradiol between the repeat breeder Friesian Holstein Cross Breed Cows (FHCB) and the fertile FHCB cows.
Twenty FHCB cows in luteal phase on 2nd to 3rd lactation were used in this research. Group I consist of 10 repeat breeder FHCB cows and group II consist of 10 fertile FHCB cows. Blood samples were collected through jugular vein prior to feeding. The level of total protein, phosphorus, glucose, cholesterol and estradiol in serum were calculated. The data were analyzed by using the independent samples t-test for comparing the blood metabolic and estradiol between the repeat breeder FHCB cows and the fertile FHCB cows.
The results showed that repeat breeder FHCB cows were found to have lower level of all of the parameters of blood metabolic and estradiol descriptively, however, only the serum cholesterol and serum phosphorus had the significant difference (p<0.05) between the repeat breeder FHCB cows and the fertile FHCB cows.
It could be concluded that level of serum cholesterol and serum phosphorus played a role in repeat breeding.

The use of aromatic and herbal plants as a feed additive became a new trend in feeding dairy cows to enhance animal productivity. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of adding some herbal and aromatic plants (Melissa, Fennel and Caraway) at 0.7% of total DM of rations.
Three herbal plants were evaluated in this study (melissa, fennel and caraway) by using thirteen Holstein Friesian cows. Cows were in 3rd and 5th lactation seasons were used as one experimental group by swing over design in lactation experiment (control then T1 then T2 then T3 then control). 2',3'-cGAMP solubility dmso Nutrients digestibility, milk production, milk composition and blood constituents were determined.
Data indicated that nutrients digestibility and nutritive value were improved with herbal plants addition, especially with caraway treatment which recorded significantly (p>0.05) the highest values. In the same trend, Actual milk yield, 4% FCM and fat content were significantly (p>0.05) increased when cows fed rations supplemented with fennel and caraway. The addition of melissa decreased the concentration of Total Saturated Fatty Acids (TSFA) in the milk. Normal ranges for blood parameters with no negative impact on animal health were observed with experimental rations.
It could be concluded that caraway addition at 0.7% of the total dry matter of dairy rations, has a great potential to improve animal productivity and enhance the quality of milk fatty acids profile.

Malaysia reported experiencing serious invasive species intrusion in various rivers and threatening some local species to distinct. A study was undertaken to estimate and compare their composition and species richness in two pristine and two disturbed freshwater ecosystems.
Invasive and local species growth pattern was also estimated using length-weight analysis. Sampling was conducted using cast net and electric shock in each river twice in 12 months. Fish collected were identified, photo captured and measured for their weight and length. The growth pattern was also estimated using length-weight analysis.
A total of 188 fishes were caught, comprises of 8 families and 15 species (ten local species with 119 individuals and five alien species with 69 individuals). Sistomus binotatus was the most dominant local species, whereas Tilapia nilotica was the most dominant alien species. There is no significant difference in composition between local and invasive species occur indicates the raise of alien species in those ecosystems even local species still dominated. The growth pattern for Sistomus binotatus and Clarias batrachus is isometric in the pristine ecosystem but negative isometric in disturbed rivers. Contrary, Tilapia nilotica has isometric for both ecosystems.

Thus, there is potential colonization of alien in Malaysia freshwater systems and a threat to local species due to food competition, site preferences and survival ability.

Microcystin-LR has a toxic effect on several organs causing the destruction and fibrosis of these organs. This study was done to evaluate the antioxidant activity of silymarin on some oxidative stress parameters on heart and lung injuries induced by microcystin-LR in mice.
Total 72 Balb/c male mice aged between five to seven weeks were grouped into 6; Group 1 contained twelve mice which were assigned as the healthy control group (C). Two microcystin-LR control groups assigned M6 and M12 contain 12 mice each. A fourth group contains twelve mice called the silymarin control group(S). The fifth and sixth groups contain twenty-four mice assigned as microcystin-LR silymarin groups SM6 and SM12. A blood sample was collected for estimation of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST). The homogenates of heart and lungs were extracted for estimation of protein carbonyl content (CC), lipid peroxidation products (LPO), reduced glutathione (GSH), methylglyoxal (MG) and activity of protein phosphatase I (PPI).
