A systematic review of PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library was performed, with the last search on 31 March 2020, to identify studies describing SBT and assessment in open vascular surgery. While it is generally considered that patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) have more distal peripheral arterial disease (PAD), there is little information on how individual vessels are affected. link3 The aim of this study was to adapt Bollinger's scoring system for lower limb angiograms (DSAs) to include the distal and planter vessels. The reliability of this extension was tested and was used to compare the distribution of disease in two cohorts of patients with and without DM.
Patients who had undergone DSA±angioplasty for PAD at a single centre between September 2010 and April 2014 were identified. Twenty-five patients' images were reviewed by four clinicians and scored using an extended version of the Bollinger score. A total of 153 patients with DM were matched, for age, sex, ethnicity, smoking, and hypertension, with 153 patients without DM. We used integrated mass spectrometry-based lipidomics approaches to semiquantify more than 600 lipid species from various lipid classes, which include free fatty acids, glycerolipids, phospholipids, sphingolipids, glycosphingolipids, cholesterol, and cholesteryl esters (CEs), in apoM-/- mouse. Hepatic accumulation of neutral lipids, including CEs, triacylglycerols, and diacylglycerols, was observed in apoM-/- mice; while serum lipidomic analyses showed that, in contrast to the liver, the overall levels of CEs and saturated/monounsaturated fatty acids were markedly diminished. Furthermore, the level of ApoB-100 was dramatically increased in the liver, whereas significant reductions in both ApoB-100 and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol were observed in the serum of apoM-/- mice, which indicated attenuated hepatic LDL secretion into the circulation. Lipid profiles and proinflammatory cytokine levels indicated that apoM-/- leads to hepatic steatosis and an overall state of metabolic distress. In this review, we discuss progress in the development of the OMV vaccine delivery platform, highlighting successful applications, together with potential challenges and gaps.
The association between intraoperative bile cultures and infectious complications after pancreatoduodenectomy remains unclear. This cohort study and meta-analysis aimed to determine thepredictive role of intraoperative bile cultures in abdominal infectious complications after pancreatoduodenectomy.
The cohort study included 114 patients undergoing pancreatoduodenectomy. Regression analyses were used to estimate the odds to develop an organ space infection (OSI) or isolated OSI (OSIs without a simultaneous complication potentially contaminating the intraabdominal space) after a positive bile culture. A systematic review and meta-analysis was performed on abdominal infectious complications (Mantel-Haenszel fixed-effect model).
The positive bile culture rate was 61%, predominantly in patients after preoperative biliary drainage (98% vs 26%, p<0.001). OSIs occurred in 35 patients (31%) and isolated OSIs in nine patients (8%) and were not associated with positive bile cultures (OSIs odds ratio=0.6, 95% CI=0.25-1.23, isolated OSIs odds ratio=0.77, 95% CI=0.20-3.04). In the meta-analysis, 15 studies reporting on 2047 patients showed no association between positive bile cultures and abdominal infectious complications (pooled odds ratio=1.3, 95% CI=0.98-1.65).
Given the rare occurrence of isolated OSIs and similar odds for patients with positive and negative bile cultures to develop abdominal infectious complications, routine performance of bile cultures should be reconsidered.

To further explore novel and more potent PARP/PI3K dual inhibitors, a series of compounds were designed, synthesized and evaluated for their pharmacological properties, resulting in the candidate compound 12, a potent and highly selective PARP/PI3K dual inhibitor. Compared to Olaparib, compound 12 exhibits a superior antiproliferative profile against BRCA-proficient MDA-MB-468 cells. In MDA-MB-468 cell-derived xenograft model, compound 12 displayed excellent antitumor efficacy at a dose of 50 mg/kg, which is considerably more efficacious than the single administration of Olaparib or BKM120. Furthermore, compound 12 displayed good metabolic stability and high safety. The aim of this study was to investigate longitudinal human milk macronutrients at 1 and 3 months in association with body composition and appetite during early life in healthy, term-born infants. We hypothesized that infants receiving higher caloric human milk would have more body fat mass and satiate earlier.
In 133 exclusively breastfed infants (Sophia Pluto Cohort), human milk samples at 1 and 3 months were analyzed for macronutrients (fat, protein, carbohydrate) by MIRIS Human Milk Analyzer, with appetite assessment by Baby Eating Behavior Questionnaires. Fat mass (FM) and fat-free mass (FFM)were measured by PEA POD and DXA, and abdominal FM by ultrasound.
Milk samples showed large differences in macronutrients, particularly in fat content. Protein and energy content decreased significantly from 1 to 3 months. Fat and carbohydrate content tended to decsive macronutrients.

This is a prospective study that enrolled women newly diagnosed with stage II-III breast cancer (2014-18). Body composition were measured by dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry.
