The aim of this investigation was to establish the criteria of service, reception and set that determine setting efficacy in world-class top-level volleyball. The study sample consisted of 4.113 gaming actions (1.371 serve actions, 1.371 reception actions, and 1.371 set actions), corresponding to the observation of four matches for each of the 12 best ranked teams in the Volleyball World Championship - a total of 23 matches. The criteria were in-game role of the server, serve zone, type of serve, striking technique and serve direction; receiver player, reception zone, and reception efficacy; setting zone, type of set, setting technique, setting efficacy, a set's area, and set tempo. Multinomial logistic regression showed that criteria related to reception (reception efficacy) and to set (setting zone, type of set, a set's area, and set tempo) determined set efficacy. Specifically, positive and negative receptions and settings from acceptable and non-acceptable zones reduced perfect setting. In contrast, the jump set toward zones three and six and the first and second tempo increased perfect setting. Serve criteria did not determine set efficacy. This study can guide trainers and players in the training process. Therefore, in order for the university to remain competitive and keep up with the fast paced changes, it is very significant that they induce qualitative growth of university education and facilities through extensive and thorough analysis on the university facility management (UFM) for students who are the main users of university facilities. However, research done on university facilities in Korea has been focused mainly on space management, while the effective UFM reflecting in-depth opinions on the user class has been quite inadequate. Therefore, in order to improve student satisfaction and improve the efficiency of UFM, it is crucial to understand the importance and status of the UFM items. This way, an initial plan for improvement of UFM considering the priorities that activ the needs of actual users in preparing future UFM plans throughout the research methods proposed in this research. We recorded hand movements of 14 participants in three dimensions while they lifted and transported paper cups that differed in weight and glossiness. 4-Methylumbelliferone molecular weight Kinematic- and spatial analysis revealed speed-accuracy trade-offs to depend on visual material properties of the objects, in which participants reached slower and grabbed closer to the center of mass for stimuli that required to be handled with greater precision. We found grasp-preparation during the first encounters with the cups was not only governed by the anticipated weight of the cups, but also by their visual material properties, namely glossiness. After a series of object lifting, the execution of reaching, the grip position, and the transportation of the cups from one location to another were preeminently guided by the object weight. We also found the planning phase in reaching to be guided by the expectation of hardness and surface gloss. The findings promote the role of general knowledge of material properties in reach-to-grasp movements, in which visual material properties are incorporated in the spatio-temporal components. To better understand how affective bonding is established during the recruitment of youth for radicalization and how it is maintained afterward, it seems promising to adopt new insights and developments from the field of situated cognition and affectivity, particularly the concepts of Affective Scaffolding, Mind Invasion, and Self-Stimulatory Loops of Affectivity (SSLA). The three notions highlight both the intended structuring of the affective bonding by the recruiting organizations and the immersive influence these settings have on the individuals. We will study the affective bonding between an individual and a radical group from two perspectives first, from an organizational perspective, and second from a personal perspective. The first aims at understanding how extremist organizations "invade the mind" of young people, by providing carefully designed affective scaffolding (a) during the recruitment process and (b) while being a full member of the organization. The second aims at identifying some of the affective loops which individuals who have joined the radical organization enter. Study 1 uses a longitudinal approach and tests the cognitive ability and vocational interests of 231 students to predict their leadership and entrepreneurship intention. It demonstrates that cognitive ability predicts their intention to become a business leader or entrepreneur 2 years in the future. Importantly, the vocational interests "enterprising" and "social" increase this ability-driven prediction of leadership and entrepreneurship intention (ΔR 2 Lead.Intent. = 15%, ΔR 2 Entre.Intent. = 9%). Study 2 investigates 123 business leaders and shows that those with higher cognitive ability more likely emerge as top-level leaders, receive more income and get slightly better supervisor-ratings on their performance. The leaders' Big Five traits (openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, emotional stability) added validity beyond cognitive ability when predicting these criteria (ΔR 2 Income = 9%, ΔR 2 Lead.Level = 8%, ΔR 2 Perform. = 15%). Finally, Study 3 includes 155 participants and demonstrates that cognitive ability predicts a person's entrepreneurial status but not performance. Additionally, considering the Big Five traits improves the prediction of who becomes an entrepreneur and successfully performs as such (ΔR 2 Status = 7%, ΔR 2 Perform. = 18%). Importantly, selected Big Five traits and vocational interests boost the importance of cognitive ability in the field of leadership and entrepreneurship. Concluding, this series of studies suggests that it is the combination of personality traits or interests with cognitive ability which is most powerful when predicting leadership and entrepreneurship intention, emergence and success.
