05), PFS (median 6.7 versus 2.4 months, P<.01), and OS (median not reached versus 6.0 months, P=.01). In aNSCLC patients, statin use was associated with improved ORR (40% versus 22%, P=.04) and PFS (median 7.8 versus 3.6 months, P=.03), but no significant difference in OS was found (median 13.1 versus 10.1 months, P=.30). Multivariable analysis confirmed the correlation between statin use and better PFS and OS in MPM and better PFS in aNSCLC. In the whole cohort, high but not low/moderate-intensity statins were associated with better OS compared to no user (P=.02 and P=.59, respectively).

Our study showed that statins are associated with better clinical outcome in MPM and aNSCLC patients treated with PD-1 inhibitors in an intensity-dependent manner.

In this disease, some genes are initiators of abnormalities and then transmit them to other genes through protein interactions. Accordingly, these genes are known as cancer driver genes (CDGs). In this regard, several methods have been previously developed for identifying cancer driver genes. Most of these methods are computational-based, which use the concept of mutation to predict CDGs. In this research, a method has been proposed for identifying CDGs in the transcription regulatory network using the concept of influence diffusion and by modifying the Hyperlink-Induced Topic Search algorithm based on the diffusion concept. Due to the type of these networks and the processes of abnormality progression in cells and the formation of cancerous tumors, high-influence genes can be the most likely considered as the driver genes. Therefore, we can use the influence diffusion concept as of the other methods yet.The distal end of parotid duct is often inevitably resected en-block with the buccal mucosa cancer to obtain safety margin and prevent local recurrence. Ligation of duct frequently causes complications like cheek swelling, fistula and gland function loss. The authors describe a novel procedure of combined use of autologous vein graft and vascular coupler to reconstruct the parotid duct defect for buccal mucosa cancer patients who undergo radical neck dissection and free-flap reconstruction, no lumen-stent or cannula is needed. LY450139 Case examples are shown to illustrate the operative details and different outcomes for two kinds of orifice site choices. Key factors for success include the proper use of Coupler device, right choice of new orifice location and maintenance of lumen patency. For buccal mucosa cancer patients, this novel method for parotid duct reconstruction could effectively reduce postoperative complications and preserve the parotid gland function.Short-term hypoxic states can influence the health and life activities of lowlanders who travel shortly to high altitudes, in transitory situations, such as surgical ischemia-reperfusion (to one or several organs), and in some sporting activities, such as parachuting and extreme skiing, mountain rescue teams, regular commercial flight crews, in which the subject may not even notice the hypoxia. NO is an integral part of the human physiological response to hypoxia. Until recently, the urea cycle (UC) was only considered as an important mechanism for neutralizing ammonia. We are the first to reveal an interrelation in hypoxic states between the activities of NO-synthase and UC enzymes in male rats' liver, kidney and brain. In the presented work, we have shown that during short-term intermittent hypobaric hypoxia (IHH) all enzymes of UC play an important role in the maintenance of NO quantity. The results allow thinking that kidney and brain argininosuccinate synthase (ASS) and argininosuccinate lyase (ASL) and liver ASS and ASL can be different isoenzymes. It is worth mentioning that the results have revealed new sides of l-arginine metabolism in a hypoxic state in male rats.

A healthy healthcare system requires healthy healthcare workers. Protecting healthcare workers including nurses against COVID-19 is crucial, and vaccination could be a viable future option. However, vaccine hesitancy remains a global challenge. Nurses, as a trustworthy and creditable source of vaccine-related information, may build public confidence in vaccination. Hence, research on vaccine hesitancy among nurses is warranted.

This study estimated nurses' influenza vaccination behaviors and intention to receive COVID-19 vaccine when available, and examined their corresponding 5C psychological antecedents (confidence, complacency, constraints, calculation, and collective responsibility). To investigate the impact of COVID-19-related work demands, the mediation effects of work stress on the association between work demands and COVID-19 vaccination intention were also examined.

Cross-sectional online survey SETTINGS Nurses were invited to participate via the promotion of a professional nursing organizatiod of nurses intended to take COVID-19 vaccine when available. While a COVID-19 vaccine could be ready soon, nursing profession is not ready to accept it.

To analyze retrospectively the effect of hysteroscopy combined with transvaginal repair on the cesarean section diverticulum (CSD) and explore the clinical significance of this procedure.

Retrospective study.

University-affiliated hospital and a gynecology hospital.

A total of 183 patients with scar diverticulum after cesarean section were recruited from the Southern Medical University Affiliated Maternal & Child Health Hospital of Foshan and Shenzhen In Vitro Fertilization Gynecological Hospital.

In this study, we reported a surgical method for repairing uterine scar through uterine therapy and explored its clinical efficacy and pregnancy outcome.

The time of operation, volume of bleeding, and duration of hospitalization were recorded. The size of the scar diverticulum and the remaining myometrium were examined by B-mode ultrasonography before and after the operation. The length of the menstrual cycle and pelvic pain were recorded during follow-up to check the recovery of patients after surgery.
