The transport of nitrogen (N) to groundwater and surface water in the form of nitrate (NO3-), as a by-product of the application of N-rich fertilisers, has been studied extensively. Yet, in the catchments adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) in tropical north Queensland, Australia, NO3- transport in groundwater is not regularly monitored. An assessment of groundwater chemistry in the Liverpool Creek catchment of Queensland's wet-tropics region was conducted by regular sampling and analysis of groundwater over 12 months, through wet and dry seasons. A distinct spatial variability in groundwater chemistry was observed; groundwater aquifers with very low dissolved oxygen (DO) and NO3- consistently displayed relatively higher concentrations of sulphate (SO42-), sulphur (S2-) and ferrous iron (Fe2+) and low concentrations of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) ( less then 2 ppm). Combined with averaged measured redox potential (Eh) of less then 250 mV, this indicates certain regions of the catchment have conditions favourable for removal of NO3- via autotrophic denitrification (DN), while other groundwater aquifers retained NO3- concentrations just above the acceptable trigger limits defined in regional water quality guidelines. Observations indicate that the naturally heterogeneous structure of the coastal alluvium contributes to the distinct variability in groundwater chemistry over small distances, with NO3- concentrations influenced by a combination of DN, lateral shallow drainage and potential adsorption to clay surfaces within the alluvial sediments. The effect of malting and fermentation on colour, thermal properties, level of crystallinity and functional groups of Agrigreen, Babala pearl millet cultivars and sorghum flours were studied using response surface methodology. The central composite rotatable design was performed on two independent variables in terms of malting and fermentation time at intervals of 24, 48 and 72 h, respectively using design expert software. One-way analysis of variance at p less then 0.05, regression analysis, response surface plots for interactions between malting and fermentation processing times with response variables were recorded. The results indicated that malting and fermentation times have significant effects on the thermal and colour properties as well as the level of crystallinity and functional groups of pearl millet cultivars and sorghum flours. In terms of colour, sorghum exhibited high content in L∗ at 72.02-73.72, a∗ ranged from 2.50-3.30 and chrome at 13.10-14.82, while Babala flour was high in b∗ and hue at points of the thermal properties showed that malted and fermented Agrigreen, Babala and sorghum flour showed high peak intensities, while the unprocessed flour exhibited diffused peaks. The obtained results would assist food processing companies to improve the colour and thermal properties and also the behaviour of the crystallinity and functional groups in food during processing.

To assess the quality of Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) related to the management of paediatric dental emergencies applicable to the COVID-19 pandemic, through the use of the measuring instrument AGREE II (Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation in Europe).

A rigurous online search of CPG was accomplished among the main CPG compilers National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), National Guideline Clearinghouse, Agency for Healthcare, Research and Quality (AHRQ), Andalusian Health Technology Assessment Department (AETSA), American Academy of Family Physicians, Tripdatabase. Furthermore, because of the need to identify CPG that meet the inclusion criteria, a manual search, among the main national and international dental organizations as well as recognized web sites, was also accomplished.

All of the guides focused on paediatric dental emergencies, available in the database and "gray" literature, and published between 2000 and 2020 (applicable to COVID-19 pandemic) were includure CPG use the available tools and methodologies during their elaboration, in order to guarantee their quality.

High quality CPG for the management of dental emergencies are designed to support dental health professionals in decision-making to adopt specific dental procedures in the current COVID-19 pandemic. As a matter of fact, these CPG might contribute to reduce the risk of transmission, in case of fresh outbreak of the illness. Likewise, they might help to determine which cases warrant medical attention in centres with special facilities for COVID-19.

The debate is controversial and shaped by normative perceptions of the life course, including concepts regarding reproductive ageing, gender, motherhood and biomedicalization. To unravel the controversy and systematically identify the variety of viewpoints on egg freezing, a Q-methodology study was conducted in The Netherlands between December 2018 and October 2019. Thirty-four women of reproductive age participated in the study. They ranked 40 statements according to their level of agreement, and explained their ranking during follow-up interviews. Data were analysed using by-person factor analysis and interpreted using both quantitative and qualitative data. Four viewpoints, of which the fourth was bipolar, were identified (1) cautious about egg freezing technology; (2) my body, my choice; (3) egg freezing is unnatural; and (4) have children and have them early. The distinct viewpoints illustrate different prioritizations of values and normative dimensions of biomedical innovations. Alisertib mouse By knowing more about the prevalent opinions on egg freezing and the surrounding controversy, policy makers and practitioners can make better informed decisions in terms of promoting and providing patient-centred infertility care. The findings furthermore stimulate continuing scholarly work on egg freezing and other innovations in reproductive medicine which may continue to disrupt normative standards.
