24-hour movement behaviors, including moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), sedentary time (ST), and sleep duration, have important implications for health across the lifespan. However, no studies exist that have examined the integration of these 24-hour movement behaviors in Latin America. The purpose of this study was to examine the prevalence of meeting the Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guideline recommendations and sociodemographic correlates of meeting the guidelines in adults from eight Latin American countries.

This was a multi-national cross-sectional study of 2338 adults aged 18 to 64 years from the Latin American Study of Nutrition and Health. MVPA and ST data were collected using accelerometers. Sleep duration was self-reported using a daily log. Socio-demographic correlates included sex, age, education level, and marital status. Meeting the 24-hour movement guidelines was defined as ≥150min/week of MVPA; ≤8h/day of ST; and between 7 and 9h/day of sleep. Logistic regression models were estel (1.37; 1.09,1.73) were associated with greater odds of meeting the sleep duration recommendation.

Overall, the proportion of Latin American adults achieving healthy levels of 24-hour movement behaviors was low. Further efforts are needed to promote more MVPA, less ST, and sufficient sleep in Latin American adults.

Albumin (ALB) levels are negatively associated with mortality in patients with sepsis. However, among sepsis patients with acute kidney injury (AKI) undergoing continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), there has been no similar study on the correlation between ALB levels and mortality alone. This study tested the hypothesis that ALB levels are negatively associated with mortality among such patients.

We conducted a secondary analysis of 794 septic patients who were diagnosed with AKI and underwent CRRT in South Korea. For the Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, Cox proportional hazards models were used to study the hypotheses, with adjustments for the pertinent covariables. We also explore the possible nonlinear relationship and conducted sensitivity analyses including subgroup analyses and tests for interactions to investigate the association further. Additionally, ALB was used to construct model and we then compared the performance of ALB with that of APACHE II and SOFA in predicting mortality.

The ALB level was an independent prognostic factor for death at 28 and 90 days after CRRT initiation (HR= 0.75, 95% CI 0.62-0.90, P= 0.0024 for death at 28 days and HR= 0.73, 95% CI 0.63-0.86, P< 0.0001 for death at 90 days). Left ventricular noncompaction (LVNC) is a rare type of cardiomyopathy, and one of its clinical manifestations is arrhythmia. Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) is valuable for the diagnosis and prognosis of LVNC. However, studies are lacking on the use of CMR for LVNC patients with arrhythmia. This study aimed to characterize and compare CMR features and prognosis in LVNC patients with and without arrhythmia.

Eighty-four LVNC patients diagnosed by CMR were enrolled retrospectively in this study. Clinical data, arrhythmia characteristics, and CMR parameters were collected. Patients were divided into different groups according to the arrhythmia characteristics and CMR manifestations for statistical analysis and comparison. Ventricular tachycardia (VT), ventricular fibrillation (Vf), ventricular flutter (VFL), III° atrioventricular block (III° AVB), Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome (WPW) and ventricular escape (VE) were defined as malignant arrhythmias and benign arrhythmias included premature ventriculants occurred in twenty-three patients (46.94%). Military sexual trauma (MST) is a major public health concern, given its prevalence and mental health sequelae. This phenomenon is particularly prevalent among women in the US military, although more cases involve men given their overrepresentation. Little is known about MST and its consequences in other military settings, including in Europe.

This study draws from a national survey in the French military, including 1268 servicemen and 232 servicewomen. We conducted bivariate and multivariate analysis, using simple and multinomial logistic regressions to evaluate the associations between different forms of MST (repeated sexual comments alone/one form of sexual oppression (coercion, repeated verbal unwanted attention or assault)/ several sexual stressors) and symptoms of depression and of positive post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) screening scores.

Additionally, novel physical activity metrics that summarise activity volume and intensity in a continuous manner have not been investigated in this context. Therefore, this study investigated the cross-sectional associations between physical activity, physical fitness and adiposity with risk factors for cardiometabolic disease and cognitive function. We aimed to explore the potential of German claims data for describing initial and long-term treatment patterns of breast cancer patients undergoing surgery.

Using the German Pharmacoepidemiological Research Database (GePaRD, ~ 20% of the German population) we included patients with invasive breast cancer diagnosed in 2008 undergoing breast surgery and followed them until 2017. We described initial and long-term treatment patterns and deaths. Analyses were stratified by stage (as far as available in claims data), age at diagnosis, and mode of detection (screen-detected vs. interval vs. unscreened cases).

The cohort comprised 10,802 patients. The proportion with neoadjuvant therapy was highest in patients < 50years (19% vs. ≤ 8% at older ages). The proportion initiating adjuvant chemotherapy within four months after diagnosis decreased with age (< 50years 63%, 50-69 46%, 70-79 27%, 80 +  4%).
