It is not clear whether patients with some degree of immunosuppression have worse outcomes in SARS-CoV-2 infection, compared to healthy people.

To carry out a narrative review of the information available on infection by SARS-CoV-2 in immunosuppressed patients, especially patients with cancer, transplanted, neurological diseases, primary and secondary immunodeficiencies.

Patients with cancer and recent cancer treatment (chemotherapy or surgery) and SARS-CoV-2 infection have a higher risk of worse outcomes. In transplant patients (renal, cardiac and hepatic), with neurological pathologies (multiple sclerosis [MS], neuromyelitis optica [NMODS], myasthenia gravis [MG]), primary immunodeficiencies and infection with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in association with immunosuppressants, studies have shown no tendency for worse outcomes.

Given the little evidence we have so far, the behaviour of SARS-CoV-2 infection in immunosuppressed patients is unclear, but current studies have not shown worse outcomes, except for patients with cancer.

To analyse the effect of secukinumab on self-reported variables of patients diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and/or ankylosing spondylitis in relation to their health status, pain, fatigue, sleep and quality of life.

A six-month, observational, longitudinal, prospective, multicentre study was conducted with 39 patients who initiated treatment with secukinumab as therapy for psoriatic arthritis and/or spondylitis. HRS-4642 The main variables were changes in patient-reported measures and they were evaluated by means of the questionnaires FACIT-fatigue, Insomnia Severity Index, EuroQol-3L-5D and PsAQoL. In addition, depending on the type of disease (peripheral psoriasis or spondyloarthritis) the DAS28 with ESR or the BASDAI were calculated, respectively.

Levels of fatigue, moderate and severe insomnia significantly reduced after 6months of treatment with secukinumab. At the same time, patient-reported quality of life increased significantly (P=.006). Data on pain and discomfort also show significant improvement after the treatment.

Patients with psoriatic arthritis and/or ankylosing spondylitis who start treatment with secukinumab show improvement at 6months in all effect sizes of the treatment, particularly in sleep, fatigue and quality of life. Furthermore, patient-reported outcome measures are of additional clinical value and allow more accurate and closer assessment of their real status of health and well-being.

Spain is the European leader in over weight (O-W), partly to the social and environmental changes of the last decades. The objective of the work was to study the modifiable risk factors that lead to O-W.

A self-designed questionnaire with factors related to childhood obesity was produced, and was administered to the parents of adolescents who were attending first year of high school in four centres in Health Area V in Murcia. Weight, height, abdominal circumference and Waist-Height Index (WHI) of the students were measured, and classified as overweight-obesity. A reduction technique was applied, generating factors that grouped the items according to subject, as well as a multivalent technique to assess the dependency relationship between the variables, and the SB-OI.

Of the 421 students included, 28 and 35% had excess weight and abdominal obesity, respectively. The factor analysis grouped the items into 4 factors diet, physical activity, technologies, and environment, with a subsection about body perception. The structural equation model presented an R

of 0.440. The highest relationship was obtained with the environment factor (t 2.89), and perception (t 14.61), followed by the use of technologies. A direct relationship was also revealed regarding diet and physical activity, although not significant.

Family perception and the social-school environment have an important influence on the development of the O-W. Health education interventions involving parents and teachers are probably the smartest and most cost-effective strategies.

Gastric stricture due to corrosive ingestion is a rare cause of obstruction in the upper gastrointestinal tract in children. However, only a few reports highlight the management of the stricture of the gastric antrum and pylorus, i.e. gastric outlet obstruction (GOO) due to corrosive ingestion, particularly in children.

We report a 1-year-old male who presented with chief complaints of upper abdominal pain and profuse vomiting after accidentally ingesting sulfuric acid one month prior. On physical examination, minimal epigastric distension was found. Endoscopic examination showed oesophagitis, erosive gastritis, multiple gastric ulcers and suspicion of pyloric stricture. We decided to perform an exploratory laparotomy and found severe strictures from the major curvature to the gastric pylorus. Subsequently, we conducted gastrojejunostomy and Braun anastomosis. The patient was discharged on the eighth postoperative day uneventfully.

Endoscopy is a reliable technique for assessing upper digestive tract mucous membranes after caustic agent ingestion because it helps in making a definitive diagnosis, especially to define the anatomic location and injury severity. The timing and type of surgery for GOO is controversial. We performed Braun anastomosis in addition to gastrojejunostomy because of several advantages over other surgical methods.

We recommend choosing an appropriate supporting examination to precisely diagnose gastric stricture due to corrosive ingestion. Gastojejunostomy and Braun anastomosis show a good outcome for gastric stricture due to corrosive ingestion, particularly in children.
