Teaching is considered as a complex and demanding profession affected by a number of student-related and teacher-related factors. Instructors' personality trait has been long scrutinized as an influential issue, which can facilitate or impede the learning process. Teachers' affective factors and personality types (e.g., surgency) are among the most commonly studied aspects of educational research, particularly English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers. The review of related studies suggests that extrovert teachers are more likely to encourage EFL learners to pursue their educational objectives and master the target language effectively because they can create friendly and positive learning conditions where learners are engaged in classroom activities. ZCL278 research buy This will be primarily prominent for EFL learners with higher levels of shyness. Such students prefer to remain reticent during the course, evade engaging in collaborative tasks, and tend to use a number of avoidance strategies while facing a stressful situation. Hence, language teachers are recommended to employ a variety of techniques as well as appropriate tasks in order to help these pupils overcome their negative affective characteristics so that they can enjoy learning the content and producing the target language in a facilitating and inspirational atmosphere.Although the close positive relationship between well-being and exercise adherence has been confirmed by numerous studies, it is still unclear whether this relationship exists for children and adolescents, because previous research mainly focuses on adults. The present review systematically explored the relationship between well-being ranging from individual to social aspects and exercise adherence based on extant studies. Seven studies including both quantitative and qualitative studies were analyzed. The results showed that well-being was not related to exercise adherence as strongly as expected. In some cases, well-being was even negatively associated with exercise adherence. Limited sample size, insensitive measurement of exercise adherence, gender, and mental and physical condition of children and adolescents might partially influence the relationship between well-being and exercise studies. However, the studies at hand are still in their infancy. More studies on the relationship between well-being and exercise adherence are needed for children and adolescents, especially in non-western countries.Since the COVID-19 outbreak, the use of mobile easy payment services that minimize human contact has rapidly increased. Several studies have explored the relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and the intention to use mobile easy payment services, assuming that the relationship between both variables is simply linear. However, actual complex relationships between variables cannot be fully analyzed in a linear fashion, as most relationships between variables of social phenomena are non-linear. Therefore, this study attempted to analyze the non-linear relationships between factors influencing the intention to use mobile easy payment services, especially since the COVID-19 outbreak, by applying the extended technology acceptance model (TAM2). Online and offline surveys were conducted with users who have used mobile easy payment services since the COVID-19 outbreak; 227 samples were secured for analysis. In addition, an empirical analysis was conducted using PLS-SEM to determine the linearity of relationships between variables. The results showed that subjective norms, perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness had significant effects on the intention to use mobile easy payment services. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant moderating effect, also implying non-linear relationships between variables. Based on these results, the study proposes that the pandemic is a factor influencing the intention to use mobile easy payment services, and recommends that providers adopt marketing strategies, such as improving the usefulness of these services.Effective teachers create a motivational climate that engages students in course activities in ways that lead to increased learning and achievement. Although researchers have identified motivational climate variables that are associated with students' engagement and achievement, less is known about how these variables are related in different courses and cultures. The purpose of the two studies presented in this paper was to contribute to this research literature by examining these associations within the context of college English courses in two Chinese universities. Specifically, we investigated the relationships between students' perceptions of the motivational climate (i.e., perceptions of empowerment/autonomy, usefulness, success, interest, and caring), cognitive and behavioral engagement, and achievement. This is the first study to examine the connections between all of these variables in one path model in college English courses in China. We administered surveys at two different Chinese universities (n = 332 and 259) and used regression and path analysis to examine the relationships among the variables. We demonstrated that (a) students' perceptions of the motivational climate were related to their cognitive engagement, (b) cognitive engagement was related to their behavioral engagement, and (c) behavioral engagement predicted their achievement. These findings are consistent with and extend the growing body of literature on motivational climate and engagement, and they highlight the importance of some motivational climate perceptions over others as significant predictors of cognitive engagement. We conclude that effective English language teachers in China do the following help students to believe that they can be successful, trigger and maintain students' interest, and empower students by providing them with choices in activities and assignments.Since recent climate change has caused more natural disasters (NDs) than ever before, there is a worldwide concern that this could have both short-term and long-term economic and health consequences. This is perhaps the first attempt to explore the effects of natural capital (NC) and NDs on the human health and wellbeing of China over the period 1993-2020. The study has compiled data from World Bank, World Value Survey, UNDP, EM-DAT, and IMF for analysis. The empirical analysis is done by using the autoregressive distributed lag model. Empirical results prove that NC has a positive and significant effect on happiness, health, and human wellbeing in the long run. The results also show that NDs significantly reduce happiness and human wellbeing in the long run. The results recommend some important policy implications. The acute subjective effects of psychedelics are responsive to users' expectations and surroundings (i.e., "set and setting"). Accordingly, a great deal of thought has gone into designing the psychosocial context of psychedelic administration in clinical settings. But what theoretical paradigms inform these considerations about set and setting? Here, we describe several historical, sociological influences on current psychedelic administration in mainstream European and American clinical research settings, including indigenous practices, new age spirituality from the 1960s, psychodynamic/psychoanalytic approaches, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. We consider each of these paradigms and determine that cognitive-behavioral therapies, including newer branches such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), have the strongest rationale for psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy going forward. Our primary reasons for advocating for cognitive-behavioral approaches include, (1) they avoid issues of cultural insensitivity, (2) they make minimal speculative assumptions about the nature of the mind and reality, (3) they have the largest base of empirical support for their safety and effectiveness outside of psychedelic therapy. We then propose several concepts from cognitive-behavioral therapies such as CBT, DBT, and ACT that can usefully inform the preparation, session, and integration phases of psychedelic psychotherapy. Overall, while there are many sources from which psychedelic psychotherapy could draw, we argue that current gold-standard, evidence-based psychotherapeutic paradigms provide the best starting point in terms of safety and efficacy.Hedonic consumption is pleasant but can interfere with the capacity to self-regulate. In stressful moments, when self-regulation is arguably still important, individuals often indulge in hedonic consumption. In two experiments, we investigate whether hedonic consumption negatively affects self-regulation under moderately stressful conditions and whether selecting hedonic consumption under moderately stressful conditions is driven by high or low self-control. In both studies, participants were randomly exposed to a mental arithmetic task that was either completed under time pressure with performance feedback (moderate stress) or without time pressure and without feedback (no stress). Experiment 1 assigned participants to a hedonic (vs. neutral) consumption task and then measured impulse control via a color-word Stroop task. Experiment 2 measured self-control as a second independent variable and recorded hedonic (vs. neutral) consumption. The results show that moderate stress buffered the negative effect that hedonic consumption has on self-regulation under no stress conditions and that high rather than low self-control predicts hedonic over neutral consumption under stress. These findings indicate that hedonic consumption in response to moderate stress may be a strategic choice to reap the pleasure benefit of hedonic consumption while the costs to self-regulation are low.One of the important aspects of stakeholder engagement in cancer care and system planning is hearing from individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer about the impact of the diagnosis and treatment on their lives. Hearing stories from the perspectives of cancer survivors offers opportunity to gain new insight and understanding about experiences of being diagnosed and treated for cancer. This article presents ten short narratives about survivors' perspectives on body image and cancer. Each story is unique but, taken together, the picture they create is one of facing challenges, discovering personal resilience, and moving forward to engage in living. The stories emphasize the importance of communication and support from healthcare providers and understanding needs for a person-centered cancer care system.Since 2010, China's economic growth has stagnated due to an unbalanced regional industrial structure and lack of sufficient qualified technical personnel. A nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (NARDL) model has been used in this study to examine the asymmetric effects of secondary vocational education and training (SVET) and higher vocational education and training (HVET) and their interaction with high-tech industries on economic growth over the period 1980-2020. The findings show that an increase in secondary vocational education and training (SVET) significantly boosts long-term economic growth, while a decrease in secondary vocational education and training (SVET) insignificantly reduces long-term China economic growth. Likewise, the upward change in higher vocational education and training (HVET) promotes and the downward fluctuation in higher vocational education and training (HVET) significantly reduces China's long-term economic growth. The moderating role of secondary vocational education in the impact of high-tech industries on China's economic growth is positive, but not significant.
