The aims were to explore (1) occupational therapists' experiences and perceptions in working with people transitioning to retirement; (2) current scope of practice of occupational therapy in the work-to-retirement transition; and (3) factors influencing current scope of practice of occupational therapy in the work-to-retirement transition.
Qualitative semi-structured interviews with Australian occupational therapists were thematically analysed.
Fourteen Australian occupational therapists were interviewed. Three overarching themes (12 sub themes) emerged (1) occupational therapists' application of a contemporary occupational paradigm; (2) current approaches adopted by occupational therapists are add on, stylistic and talk based; and (3) contextual challenges and opportunities encountered by occupational therapists.

This study focussed on the mutual role of emotion covariation and psychological flexibility in understanding the reciprocal effects of chronic pain and psychological distress.
A longitudinal design was applied with a sample of 177 adults (mean age = 58.3, 57.1% women) suffering from chronic back/neck pain.
Assessments were conducted at three timepoints pain and psychological distress upon referral to a pain clinic (T1); emotion covariation (the correlation between daily reports of positive and negative emotions) and psychological flexibility (self-reported ability to withstand unpleasant experiences while acting upon personal values) during the weeks before undergoing an intrusive procedure (T2); pain and psychological distress one day prior to the procedure (T3).
T2 psychological flexibility and emotion covariation mediated the effect of T1 pain on T3 psychological distress. However, T2 psychological flexibility and emotion covariation did not mediate the effect of T1 psychological distress on T3 pain.
The findings highlight two complimentary mechanisms - emotion covariation and psychological flexibility - that mediate the relationship between pain and psychological distress for people with chronic back/neck pain. The findings inform future research on the effects of intervening on these mechanisms, which may lead to clinical interventions aimed at improving coping with pain.

Early identification of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is an essential healthcare priority. Girls may be at risk for late diagnosis, although research is equivocal regarding how sex and other factors relate to ASD identification. The goals of the current investigation were to (1) identify how child sex, cognitive abilities, and demographic factors relate to age of first concern (AOC) and age of diagnosis (AOD), (2) evaluate trends in AOC/AOD over time, and (3) consider whether main effects of sex on AOC/AOD are moderated by cognitive abilities or time.
Children (N=365; 20% female; 85.6% identified as White) with ASD participated through the Province of Ontario Neurodevelopmental Disorders (POND) Network. Study records included AOD, date/timing of diagnosis (between 1996 and 2017), age of first parent concern, demographics, and standardized cognitive testing results (24.7% of children had IQ scores below standard scores of 70).
