Herein, on the basis of a series of nitric acid-treated graphene oxide (GO) with different contents of oxygen functional groups for iodine adsorption, it was found that the iodine uptake capacity is proportionate to the oxygen content and the diversities of oxygen-containing groups. The density functional theory (DFT) calculation results also suggest that oxygen-containing groups result in strong interactions between iodine molecules and the adsorbents through a covalent bond-forming process, among which -OH groups possess a higher adsorption energy averagely. Such theoretical and experimental work deepens our understanding of the effects of oxygen functional groups on iodine adsorption and provides novel ideas for future design and synthesis of high-performance solid adsorbents for radioactive iodine. We focus on exploring the LIDAR-RGB fusion-based 3D object detection in this paper. This task is still challenging in two aspects (1) the difference of data formats and sensor positions contributes to the misalignment of reasoning between the semantic features of images and the geometric features of point clouds. (2) The optimization of traditional IoU is not equal to the regression loss of bounding boxes, resulting in biased back-propagation for non-overlapping cases. In this work, we propose a cascaded cross-modality fusion network (CCFNet), which includes a cascaded multi-scale fusion module (CMF) and a novel center 3D IoU loss to resolve these two issues. Our CMF module is developed to reinforce the discriminative representation of objects by reasoning the relation of corresponding LIDAR geometric capability and RGB semantic capability of the object from two modalities. Specifically, CMF is added in a cascaded way between the RGB and LIDAR streams, which selects salient points and transmits multi-scale point cloud features to each stage of RGB streams. Moreover, our center 3D IoU loss incorporates the distance between anchor centers to avoid the oversimple optimization for non-overlapping bounding boxes. Extensive experiments on the KITTI benchmark have demonstrated that our proposed approach performs better than the compared methods.Chronic pain is common among refugees, and often related to mental health problems. Its management, however, is often challenging. A randomized waitlist-controlled trial was designed to study the effect of group physiotherapy activity and awareness intervention (PAAI) on reducing pain disorders, and secondarily improving mental health, among Syrian refugees. A total of 101 adult Syrian refugees suffering from chronic pain were randomized to either the intervention group or the control group, which thereafter also received PAAI after a waiting period. Pain intensity measured by the Brief Pain Inventory (BPI) was the primary outcome. Scores from the Impact of Events Scale-Revised (IES-R 22) and the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12) were secondary outcomes. Intention-to-treat analyses (ITT) showed no effect of the intervention on either pain levels (regression coefficient [B 95% CI of 0.03 -0.91, 0.96], IESR scores [4.8 -3.7, 13.4] or GHQ-12 scores [-0.4 -3.1, 2.3]). Yet, participants highly appreciated the intervention. PLX5622 order Despite the negative findings, our study contributes to the evidence base necessary to plan targeted and effective health care services for refugees suffering from chronic pain and highlights the challenge of evaluating complex interventions adapted to a specific group. The model-based methods of maximum power point (MPP) tracking in photovoltaic installations are widely known. One of these methods proposes the use of tracking by direct estimation of the maximum power point resistance using irradiance measurement processing. It proposes six different models for this estimate. In the present work, an exhaustive analysis to determine the robustness and accuracy of the different models was carried out. To perform the analysis, irradiance data sets, used to fit the parameters of the models, were collected. In addition, tests were done to determine MPP tracking accuracy of each of the six models. To carry out the tests, all models were compared with a widely used maximum power point tracking algorithm, perturb & observe, for different values of irradiance, temperature, and load.Emerging adulthood is a transitional life stage with increased probability of risky and unhealthy lifestyle behaviours that are known to have strong links with premature mortality and morbidity. Wellbeing, as a positive subjective experience, is identified as a factor that encourages self-care and may steer individuals away from risky lifestyle behaviours. Investigating wellbeing-behaviour links in the emerging adult population may increase understanding of the factors that lead to, and ways to prevent, engagement in risky behaviours. This study examines the association between flourishing, that is, the experience of both high hedonic and eudaimonic wellbeing, and a broad range of risky and unhealthy lifestyle behaviours among emerging adults in Australia. A cross-sectional survey of 1155 emerging adults aged 18-25 years measured wellbeing, socio-demographics, and six groups of lifestyle behaviours surrounding substance use, physical activity, diet, sex, sun protection, and driving. Bivariate and multivariate statistics were used to analyse the data. The findings revealed that flourishing was negatively associated with more dangerous types of risk behaviours, such as driving under the influence of drugs, and positively associated with self-care behaviours, such as healthier dietary behaviour and sun protection. If enabling emerging adults to flourish can contribute to reduced engagement in risky/unhealthy lifestyle behaviours, then promoting it is an important goal for health promotion efforts not only because flourishing is desirable in its own right, but also to bring about sustainable change in behaviour. Further research is needed to inform the designs of such interventions.
