This work will provide a good experimental basis for the application of PCLTA.The nonlinear problem of sensing the attitude of a solid body is solved by a novel implementation of the Kalman Filter. This implementation combines the use of quaternions to represent attitudes, time-varying matrices to model the dynamic behavior of the process and a particular state vector. This vector was explicitly created from measurable physical quantities, which can be estimated from the filter input and output. The specifically designed arrangement of these three elements and the way they are combined allow the proposed attitude estimator to be formulated following a classical Kalman Filter approach. The result is a novel estimator that preserves the simplicity of the original Kalman formulation and avoids the explicit calculation of Jacobian matrices in each iteration or the evaluation of augmented state vectors.Increasing interest in various local construction forms necessitate examining its link to human life. Construction culture should be adapted and applied to the contemporary context to create a harmonious coexistence with diverse local cultures and to strengthen regional sustainability, avoiding the rigid, one-dimensional local construction development. Thus, this study aims to analyze the factors of influence needed for policy decision-making at the local spatial planning stage, with regional technologies and cultural contents from a convergent perspective taken into consideration. This study derived tangible and intangible policy decision-making factors during the spatial planning stage using text mining analysis. Additionally, social network analysis was also used to seek multi-angle correlations among factors. Through big data analytics, 16 key decision-making contents in the spatial planning stage were derived, with 'regional development, urban policy' as most influential. Such a result indicates the need for regional and urban policy engagement with strategic development from a holistic perspective-in view of socio-cultural relations and forms of change-and local perceptions of spatial value and significance affecting decision-making in the local spatial planning stage (LSPS). Understanding the decision-making process in the spatial planning stage requires a holistic approach with both visible technological factors (structure, form, and construction method) and invisible cultural factors (ways of life projected during space formation, zeitgeist, religion, learning, and art) included.Operating Rooms (ORs) generate the largest revenues and losses in a hospital. Without the prompt supply of sterile surgical trays from the Sterile Processing Department (SPD), the OR would not be able to perform surgeries to its busy schedule. Nevertheless, little emphasis has been brought in the medical literature to research on surgical instrument processing in the medical literature. The present study was done applies an Enhanced Kaizen Event (EKE) in the SPD of a rural hospital to identify sources of waste and minimize non-value-added steps in the SPD processes. The EKE consisted of three successive Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycles, which focused on improvements at the departmental level first, then at an area level, and finally at the station level. The EKE yielded an improved streamlined workflow and a new design for the SPD layout, one of its areas, and a workstation. This paper aims at building a methodology, including identified steps. Results exhibited a 35% reduction in travel distance by the staff, eliminating non-value-added processes, reducing errors in the sterilization process, and eliminating cross-contamination for sterilized materials.Lectin-like transcript 1 (LLT1) expression by tumor cells contributes to immune evasion, thereby emerging as a natural killer (NK) cell-mediated immunotherapeutic target. This study is the first to investigate LLT1 expression (encoded by CLEC2D gene) in head and neck cancers to ascertain its impact on patient prognosis. LLT1 expression was analyzed by immunohistochemistry in a homogeneous cohort of human papillomavirus (HPV)-negative oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas (OPSCC), and correlated with clinical data. Results were further validated using transcriptomic data from the TCGA database. Tumoral LLT1 expression was detected in 190/221 (86%) OPSCC specimens, whereas normal pharyngeal epithelium was negative. Patients harboring LLT1-positive tumors showed significantly lower disease-specific (DSS) and overall survival (OS) (p = 0.049 and p = 0.036, respectively, log-rank test). High density of LLT1-positive tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) was also frequently detected in 160 (73%) OPSCC samples, and significantly associated with better DSS and OS (p less then 0.001 and p = 0.007, respectively). Multivariate Cox analysis further revealed that tumoral LLT1 expression and infiltration of LLT1-positive TIL were independent prognostic factors for DSS and OS. CLEC2D mRNA levels are also significantly increased in primary tumors compared to normal tissue. Strikingly, the prognostic impact of CLEC2D mRNA levels varied depending on HPV status in OPSCC, and among distinct cancer types. CLEC2D expression was significantly correlated with NK cell infiltration using the MCP-counter model. These findings uncover LLT1/CLEC2D as an independent prognostic factor in HPV-negative OPSCC, and a potential novel target for immunotherapy.Numerous studies have been reported on CO2 facilitated transport membrane synthesis, but few works have dealt with the interaction between material synthesis and transport modelling aspects for optimization purposes. In this work, a hybrid fixed-site carrier membrane was prepared using polyallylamine with 10 wt% polyvinyl alcohol and 0.2 wt% graphene oxide. The membrane was tested using the feed gases with different relative humidity and at different CO2 partial pressures. Selected facilitated transport models reported in the literature were used to fit the experimental data with good agreement. The key dimensionless facilitated transport parameters were obtained from the modelling and data fitting. Based on the values of these parameters, it was shown that the diffusion of the amine-CO2 reaction product was the rate-controlling step of the overall CO2 transport through the membrane. It was shown theoretically that by decreasing the membrane selective layer thickness below the actual value of 1 µm to a value of 0.1 µm, a CO2 permeance as high as 2500 GPU can be attained while maintaining the selectivity at a value of about 19. Furthermore, improving the carrier concentration by a factor of two might shift the performances above the Robeson upper bound. These potential paths for membrane performance improvement have to be confirmed by targeted experimental work.Since the recent epidemics of yellow fever in Angola and Brazil as well as the importation of cases to China in 2016, there has been an increased interest in the century-old enigma, absence of yellow fever in Asia. Although this topic has been repeatedly reviewed before, the history of human intervention has never been considered a critical factor. A two-stage literature search online for this review, however, yielded a rich history indispensable for the debate over this medical enigma. As we combat the pandemic of COVID-19 coronavirus worldwide today, we can learn invaluable lessons from the historical events in Asia. In this review, I explore the history first and then critically examine in depth major hypotheses proposed in light of accumulated data, global dispersal of the principal vector, patterns of YF transmission, persistence of urban transmission, and the possibility of YF in Asia. Through this process of re-examination of the current knowledge, the subjects for research that should be conducted are identified. This review also reveals the importance of holistic approach incorporating ecological and human factors for many unresolved subjects, such as the enigma of YF absence in Asia, vector competence, vector dispersal, spillback, viral persistence and transmission mechanisms. The purpose of this study was to investigate streptomycete populations in desert and savanna ecozones in Sudan and to identify species based on 16S rRNA gene sequences. A total of 49 different Streptomyces phenotypes (22 from sites representing the desert and semi-desert ecozone; 27 representing the savanna ecozone) have been included in the study. The isolates were characterized phenotypically and confirmed using 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. The two ecozones showed both similarities and uniqueness in the types of isolates. The shared species were in cluster 1 (Streptomyces (S.) werraensis), cluster 2 (Streptomyces sp.), cluster 3 (S. griseomycini-like), and cluster 7 (S. rochei). selleck chemical The desert ecozone revealed unique species in cluster 9 (Streptomyces sp.) and cluster 10 (S. griseomycini). Whereas, the savanna ecozone revealed unique species in cluster 4 (Streptomyces sp.), cluster 5 (S. albogriseolus/ S. griseoincarnatus), cluster 6 (S. djakartensis), and cluster 8 (Streptomyces sp.). Streptomycetes are widely distributed in both desert and the savanna ecozones and many of these require full descriptions. Extending knowledge on Streptomyces communities and their dynamics in different ecological zones and their potential antibiotic production is needed.Light can be used to facilitate alertness, task performance and circadian adaptation during night work. Novel strategies for illumination of workplaces, using ceiling mounted LED-luminaires, allow the use of a range of different light conditions, altering intensity and spectral composition. This study (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier NCT03203538) investigated the effects of short-wavelength narrow-bandwidth light (λmax = 455 nm) compared to long-wavelength narrow-bandwidth light (λmax = 625 nm), with similar photon density (~2.8 × 1014 photons/cm2/s) across light conditions, during a simulated night shift (2300-0645 h) when conducting cognitive performance tasks. Light conditions were administered by ceiling mounted LED-luminaires. Using a within-subjects repeated measurements study design, a total of 34 healthy young adults (27 females and 7 males; mean age = 21.6 years, SD = 2.0 years) participated. The results revealed significantly reduced sleepiness and improved task performance during the night shift with short-wavelength light compared to long-wavelength light. There was also a larger shift of the melatonin rhythm (phase delay) after working a night shift in short-wavelength light compared to long-wavelength light. Participants' visual comfort was rated as better in the short-wavelength light than the long-wavelength light. Ceiling mounted LED-luminaires may be feasible to use in real workplaces, as these have the potential to provide light conditions that are favorable for alertness and performance among night workers.Leaf area index (LAI) is used to predict crop yield, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) provide new ways to monitor LAI. In this study, we used a fixed-wing UAV with multispectral cameras for remote sensing monitoring. We conducted field experiments with two peanut varieties at different planting densities to estimate LAI from multispectral images and establish a high-precision LAI prediction model. We used eight vegetation indices (VIs) and developed simple regression and artificial neural network (BPN) models for LAI and spectral VIs. The empirical model was calibrated to estimate peanut LAI, and the best model was selected from the coefficient of determination and root mean square error. The red (660 nm) and near-infrared (790 nm) bands effectively predicted peanut LAI, and LAI increased with planting density. The predictive accuracy of the multiple regression model was higher than that of the single linear regression models, and the correlations between Modified Red-Edge Simple Ratio Index (MSR), Ratio Vegetation Index (RVI), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), and LAI were higher than the other indices.
